Sinister: The Goalkeeper's Revenge

Bill Naughton was a British playwright and author, best known for his play
"Alfie".

Naughton was born on June 12th, 1910 in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo. Naughton's
family moved to Bolton in Lancashire in 1914, where he attended St Peter and
Paul School. He worked as a weaver, coal-bagger and lorry-driver before he
started writing, where his preferred environment was working class society.
Although "Alfie" is the play with which he will always be associated, he was
a prolific writer.

His work includes "The Goalkeeper's Revenge: And Other Stories", a
collection of thirteen short stories first published in 1961. 

During his lifetime, he received the Screenwriters Guide Award in 1967 and
1968, the Italia Prize for Radio Play in 1974, the Children's Rights
Workshop Other Award in 1978 and the Portico Literary Prize in 1987.

Naughton died aged 81 in 1992, in Ballasalla on the Isle of Man. 

"The Goalkeeper's Revenge" also happens to be the title of the next Belle
and Sebastian album, if you believe Rolling Stone.
