From kenneth.chu at xxx.uk Tue Oct 3 13:32:52 2006 From: kenneth.chu at xxx.uk (kenneth.chu at xxx.uk) Date: Tue, 3 Oct 2006 13:32:52 +0100 Subject: Sinister: Suzuki in the scrap-yard Message-ID: Dear Sinister, It has been a while, no? I have neglected you for the whole of September! Did you miss me? I hope everyone had a good sinister birthday, a few of us celebrated it in London in the form of a picnic, and that was really nice. It's amazing to think back the first time I was there outside the Camden Odeon, slightly disoriented from the buzzing London, and to think now I live 10 minutes bus away. It was a strange feeling. It's almost like growing up. I wonder what everyone is up to these days. In a way things hadn't changed enormously for me for a while, still working, still living in the same place, but I guess I know more things, I still haven't had a 300 game in bowling though. Interlude: Reporting backs ========================== I went to Scotchland the other week, and met up with some Sinisters, and Juicy Lucy and Ailsa and I went to Edinberg to see Belle and Sebastian from behind a hedge, as proper fucked in the head psycho-fans would do, except we were forced into this predicament by the bouncers because the organisers couldn't organise a concert at an open-air concert venue, and people with tickets but without a bracelet were relegated to the behind of the hedge. Och well, the gig was good though, it was kind of OLD SKOOL in a way, even Stuart said so, apparently the BBC wanted them to play new songs, it wasn't old enough for my liking, but old it was. They played Lord Anthony, but without the pint glass collection sounds, so kind of new skool really! There was also a LIVE THREESOME on stage. AND, properly old skool, MONICA QUEEN was called out from the crowd, and sang Lazy Line Painter Jane. *** And the other day I went to the Zoo with Robster, Marianna, Ben Apps, Rachel Apps plus a special guest who got in for free. The Zoo is awesome, someone told me it's all happening at the zoo, I didn't believe it's true, but it was, or at least there's a lot of porn. I, and several young children, for example witnessed a giraffe golden shower! Or it may have been a bukkake. I dunno, either way it looked very enjoyable and the children all got a lesson for life. =========== Anyway, this morning, as I do every morning, I went past Mornington Crescent, and I thought of you. That's all. X P.S.: no sandwich this morning but I had a bag of flame-grilled-steak crisps and a can of Red Bull for breakfast. What did you have? ********************************************************************** This email is confidential and intended solely for the person or entity to whom it is addressed. I went to Florida for two weeks and I do not have a tan but I did have an awful lot of fun. We saw the satellite launch from Kennedy Space CentRE, got PROPER soaked in a fantastically rainy afternoon, saw lots of wildlife. Also in Florida my lad and I celebrated our two year anniversary. Well, it happened anyway. And I had my birthday. And I am now 23. 23! I was 15 when I joined Sinister! Speaking of the zoo and the things you see.... At Busch Gardens we saw a pair of tortosie making sweet tortoise love. And At SeaWorld we saw a dolphins penis. Actually, two. By the looks of things there was a bit of a dolphin orgy going on. I returned home and informed my boss I was leaving. I have no other job to go to or anything, I told her that I would be leaving after Christmas. That was Monday, on monday nights I have college but it wasn't on so i sent the night puzzling over what to do. After much deliberation and discussion I have decided to return to full time education and I am starting an HND at college in January. And I am truly shitting myself. My sister bought me the most recent Divine Comedy album for my birthday It is very good. The Divine Comedy are touring. They are playing the ABC in Glasgow and the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh. I have never been the ABC, the first time I saw the Divine Comedy play live was at the Liquid Rooms. The tickets are quite expensive and I am not sure I can afford to go to both especially with quitting my job shortly and such like. The Liquid Rooms would be an anniversary of sorts. Not one person has said going to college full time is a good idea, they have said 'if you're sure' or 'if thats what you really want'. Planting the seeds of doubt in my mind! I don't eat breakfast I just get as much coffee in my system as is possible in however long I have before work. In Florida we frequented a buffet resteraunt called The Golden Corral for breakfast. It was no less than AWESOME. Lunch is currently consisting of Tesco's own wholemeal bread (no bits-very important) Spread (vitalite) Seafood spread (tescos own reduced fat) Rocket lettuce all put together in sandwich formation. I had Sinister dreams last night in which there was Sinister boys and Sinister girls that I have met. They gave me a map, which was a key and I was to give it to George Michael. x I'm hiding in the dark corners of your room Where the phone never dares to ring No better than a fondly forgotten scene In a book that you never read _________________________________________________________________ Download the new Windows Live Toolbar, including Desktop search! http://toolbar.live.com/?mkt=en-gb +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister at missprint.org. I cunningly changed the "Metrocard" bit to "Oystercard", hehe, and the "mimimaiamfdmkfadkafmk wah wah wah" bit I changed cunningly to "vviaiiaviviaiviavia neh neh neh". Ich bin ein Geniuser. I watched some bits of Channel 4's 100 Greatest Albums yesterday. It was grand - or rather, it was OK, it wasn't that good except for they were building up to the no. 1, I made a wild guess that it would be Radiohead's OK Computer, and I got it right! Which means really I'm le genîus of music, or maybe just un geniuso del voting. But then I didn't predict that U2's The Joshua Tree was going to be #2, a non-prediction based on the fact that it's shit. So you know, swings and roundabouts. There were no B+S in it at all :( Coldplay's truly excellent debut album - Parachutes - did make it though, so I'm glad. Anyway, the point of this email is that: later on that evening on C4, they showed snippets of a Coachella(?) festival from the past, with loads of bands and stuff, it was funny because they showed like White Stripes playing tremendous guitar, and some DJs scratching discs meticulously, etc., then, B+S came on and they showed the bit where someone was cocking up the recorder bit of TWATTYBUS and where stuart couldn't remember the words. I thought that was really funny. That wasn't the point of the email either though, it was just a prelude. The point is that, at the end of the song, Stuart improvised the ending of the song and changed it from the bit about celebrities with cigarette ashes to something about foo fighters, and the crowd got REALLY EXCITED, in particular, there was one REALLY CAMP guy right in the front, with a red scarf and red tshirt, SCREAMING in a REALLY CAMP WAY. Um, were you that really camp guy? If so can you get in touch? I really like you and I think we should be friends. That's all. Besides, it's a BIG ONE and VERY EXCITING and I can barely shut up about it.
