I'd like to thank the lovely soul who used a Braid lyric as her subject line last week as it lead me to dust off my copy of "Frames and Canvas" and re-discover what a great record that is. Its a shame that as of August they'll be calling it quits...alas. I know someone else was going on and on about Rainer Maria awhile back, and being a huge Rilke fan I went and picked up the "New York 1955" 7" and its quite good. The two songs sound a bit similar on first listen but I like the girl/guy vocals alot. Does anyone have their new album and is it anything like these two songs? I got a haircut today and for whatever reason the very nice lady doing the cutting ended my newly born sideburns' short life. They were coming in so nice and scraggly until today, so I'm a bit down about it right now. She didn't even ask...just 'snip,snip' and they were gone. They will be missed. Does any future Biologists out there know whether peanut butter or another equally high source of protein really does make hair grow faster? Someone told me that once... Unfortunately I couldn't make the DC picnic this past Sat but I heard it was aces so I'm glad. Croquet matches 20 people large sounds very awesome so I'm really sad I missed that. Hopefully "Picnic Organizer Extrordinaire" Christa or someone with equal parts gumption and resolve can set one up for August. When do the DC cherry blossoms bloom? Any DC and MD listees keep an eye out for a compilation CD coming out this summer entitled "Spitting Seeds V: The Best Maryland has to offer" or something along those lines. My band Poplar Ridge has a contribution entitled "Great Scott" which is our homage to Michael J. Fox and the legendary Back to the Future trilogy. I'm sure we're among the best MD has to offer but we're on it, its a cheap disc and we may being playing some shows up and down the East Coast to support it so we may run into some you hopefully. Well my parents are telling me to bugger off so I will...
