Ahhh, you're probably all bored of these by now, but... All you American types can quit moaning about PE teachers with handlebar moustaches and mullets. You suffered nothing. For nigh on the whole of my time at high school, the (girls') Games teacher was MY MUM!!! And while she had neither a moustache nor a mullet, and nor did her "nutsack" keep falling out, it was bloody annoying having your every fourteen year-old move relayed directly to your parents. The conversation over tea would read: "So, Joseph, I hear you and Michelle Iball have been sitting at the back together in Art again..." "These peas are nice." That said, the amount of time I actually spent on that freezing all-weather pitch paled in comparison to the hours spent "re-arranging" the stock cupboard, having feigned some injury/infection/hormonal disorder. thanks folks! I now can improve my english vocabulary and know every subtilities between biscuit/bar and kiosk/cubicle/booth. i personnaly think the difference biscuit/bar lies in the fact that: a biscuit has a rond form and a bar a long one. I consider a Kiosk to be a retailing outlet, usually situated in the middle of a pavement in a narrow busy street. They usually trade in cigarettes, but some of the more reputable kiosks have been known to trade in bisuits and choc bars. A cubicle is definitely a compartment with three walls a door and a bench more commonly found in public bathing facilities. You will often find coat-hooks in cubicles in some of the more well-off parts of England like Bognor Regis. In the liberal ninetees, many working-class baths have employed changing-room attendants. These are primarily ex-cons who wear seventies-style red tracksuits and stride up and down in a disturbed manner looking at young boys and thinking..."mmmmmmmmmmmm" and licking their lips. A booth is a bit more non-descript and could be applied to either of the above. The more common application of this word though is either : a) The small box like structures found on train-station platforms used for obtaining passport style photographs. These "photo-booths" generally have seventies style orange curtains, and can only be used by people under six feet tall. They are widely known for their ability to make even the best looking of people appear to have been on class A drugs for 15 years, and often result in customs officials giving you "dodgy" looks when presenting your passport for access to places like Columbia or Amsterdam. b) The Balsa-wood structures found in primary school halls on polling day used to cast ones vote in secrecy. These "voting-booths" generally have a single shelf, and often have ancient etchings on them which give a popular insight into political history, for instance, "John Major...kiss my bottom" or "For a good time call.." etc etc. There. Stuart, Stuart, I understand that you are new to the list, but please please read the FAQ's on what you can and can't post from Honey's Sinister site. Irrelevant topics like these just waste evreybody's time and clog up the list with useless information. If you want to say anything at all please make it relevant to the band. Right now that's been said, the Collins Engish Dictionary states that a biscuit is : 'a small flat dry sweet or plain cake of many varieties, baked from a dough.' Whilst a bar is: 'a solid rectangular block of any material' So, a biscuit must contain something that is made from a dough, and then can be covered in chocolate or not, depending on how you like it, whilst a bar can be anything rectangular. Therefore anything can be a BAR, but not anything a biscuit. Hence there is an area of overlapping territory here, a bit like a Venn diagram, with bars/biscuits that fall into both, so a twix/club/penguin are biscuits and bars simultaneously. However WHERE THE HELL DOES THAT LEAVE WAGON WHEELS? Most living famous person: Could be you Stuart if you bothered to re-release Tigermilk, play more gig and do interviews. Just a thought. Sinister: Buiscuits & Boerdom

I'm sorry Stuart, but I'm finding it really difficult to get interested about this buiscuit debate. Can't you think of something more inspring to challenge us with, I can't,my mind is just blank with boerdom due to my job (I hope my boss doesn't catch me writing this). I'll just keep myself entertained with B&S tunes washing around my mind. I did a music business course just like that guy in B&S (sorry I can't remember his name), and look where it's got me, sitting in front of a computer from 8-4 m-f, hopelessly trying to sort out other peoples problems- Oh Well, I'd better stop before I begin to ramle on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on............................................... Bye for now. Huw If any body can give me some advise on how to get into the chat romm you'd make a special little boy very happy.

This posting address has the distinction of being at the very bottom of my list, so it's easy to find~ Anycase, just to let the good kids on this list know--if ya ain't on the NYC tip--that the Village Voice just printed their annual Pazz and Jop insert. It's basically a chance for Robert Christagau to drop kewl words like "electronica" and "unfettered access". Watch the oxford dictionary change before your very eyes! magic! As for B+S, they made it to #18 on his list, and to the top 10 on two other "contributor's" lists as well. There were 2 comments made by readers about Belle and Sebastian that, if I had the copy in front of me, I would share with all of you. But for now, suffice that one was pro-Stu, the other anti-Stu. Whilst the Spice Girls get a headline and a near page devoted to their "wings of a butterfly in South America" affect.
