I don't know who went off about Semisonic and BareNaked Ladies and Matchbox 20 because the replies and previous messages made it confusing, but whoever you are, you seem a bit high strung. I mean, I happen to agree with you on all three of those songs, but so what? If I don't like it, I don't listen to it. And if someone else does like it, fine with me. I'm not out to convert them like some musical crusader. Just figure that plenty of folks out there would listen to B&S and call it overly sensitive or not grand enough in its messages (trust me, lots of Bob Dylan fans might think this). Who cares what they think? That's why there's lists like this. Anyway, with that, I unsubscribe. Only because this is my e-mail account at work and I can't afford to have hundreds of messages, interesting as they may be, clogging up the firm's memory space. Ooh! I've got an idea. I was just having a little poke around the fanclub site (is it the official site now?) and I had a question for David (and for everyone else who's interested too): Would you want us to submit any articles and reviews on B&S that we come across in our local newspapers, magazines, etc? I was just thinking that it might be interesting to have other articles besides just the NME, MM, etc. Because, for instance, the writers in one of the weeklies in my town have had some very nice things to say, and I'd be interested to read reviews and articles from other parts of the world (that article that Jenny Toomey wrote for Puncture would be a good addition). Whaddya say, David? Should we type up the articles we find, or would that be a little too much extra strain on the site, not to mention the site administrator? Sinister: Shot right through me like a bolt of blue.

It is yes Katrina, but for some reason I forgot to send the whole story.... so here goes.... OK, I was at the petrol station opposite the Links pub in Ashford Middlesex with my friend Ian at about 4pm. We'd just come back from playing tennis and we were slurping away at our drinks. So I look at this car, and say, doesn't that car look weird. (The number plate was not in the middle, it was placed to the right. Then Ian says, "look, that bloke looks like Thom Yorke", and I look at him filling his car up and it does a bit. Plus he was wearing sunglasses, and although it was sunny, I thought he might be wearing them to cover his lazy eye. So he's finished filling up and he walks past us into the petrol station shop. He was wearing grungey clothes and was unshaven. So I think, "oh my God, Thom Yorke" Then I look through the shop window and he'd taken his sunglasses off and I saw the lazy eye! THOM YORKE THOM YORKE THOM YORKE THOM YORKE THOM YORKE So rather nervously I go into the shop and manage to stutter the question, "excuse me are you Thom Yorke" Not looking at me he said in a rather pissed off tone, "Sorry I'm busy mate" and I said "oh" and walked off. So, I walked out and back to speak to my friend. I was *so* ashamed at having invaded his privacy and I felt *really* bad. But nothing will take away the fact that Thom Yorke, an international rock star was at the petrol station in my home town at the same time as me. I mean this thing really, really meant a lot to me. Probably like one of you guys meeting Morrissey when you were my age (18) > just trying to keep honey sane .. doncha think that that sort of thing > is slighty inapporpriate to post to the B&S list? Bloody hell! I'm either going to have to unsub, or alternatively never leave the house again. It's taken me 6 hours but I've finally got through the 26 odd digests that confronted me when I got back from T in the park. (I looked around for 'sinister' looking people there but the closest I got was a woman saying 'ooh, Belle and Sebastian' on seeing my T-shirt. <sighs> And I saw the same bands as Debbie and Roddd. I was asleep during Theaudience, mind, in a smelly heap.) Rod said: ''Just thank God I wasn't camping.'' AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! I stayed up all night in a leaky tent waiting for an early taxi to Glasgow, covered in mud, sat between my best mate and his wee lassy, both of whom wanted me to piss off so they could shag in the only dry coner of tent.And when I got to Glasgow Airport, I wasn't allowed on the plane, because I was (quote) ''covered in shit'' Next year, I stay in a Hotel. B&S content: I absolutely totally swear I saw Stu M in the Grosvenor Cafe. I definitely did. So don't tell me that he's abroad because I don't want to know. La la la la I can't hear you... Oh and Glasgow is a beautiful place, everyone seemed to be friendly, and smiley all the time. Even if they did take the piss out of us Englishmen a little bit. Every time I saw a bus to Easterhouse, I started singing Modern Rock Song. It's a testament to the city that I didn't get my head kicked in...
