wow i finally have a voice! oh, happy day. i am very excited to be able to bore you all with my life's antics. so, yes, my name is jenny, or jen or some other derivitive of jennifer. i really don't mind, but i am rather pleased to be in a song, altho lisa is the star of quite a number of songs which come to mind... i'm a lazy student at the university of michigan in ann arbor. i spend most of my time listening to music, introducing people to the wonderful world of B&S, oh, and going to my classes, writing letters, playing in the sun. i went to the looper show in detroit a couple of weeks ago which was great fun, altho it did start late, and my feet were tired after standing all night. since then i've seen several people from the show around campus.interesting... but that's not all...! actually, it is. there's not much to say at this point. at least not in regards to belle and sebastian. besides that i'm rather hungry and am toying with the idea of getting some food before class. humph, it's a beautiful day and i don't know why i'm sitting inside at the computer! -j. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Sinister: The perfect love

Hey up Sinisterines All this talk of a 'perfect love' (or should that be 'the perfect love') set me thinking. I used to subscribe to the perfect love theory but then I realised that I don't even know myself thoroughly yet, new facets of my personality reveal themselves and force me to re-evaluate who I am. Therefore, someone who I consider to be the 'perfect match' for today's Andrew may not be perfect for tomorrow's Andrew. Perfection is relative, it's not a constant. The upshot of this line of discourse is this, accept the 'best-fit' scenario. Like someone, love someone but prepared to be disappointed when you wake up one morning and realise you don't want to be with them anymore. Also prepare yourself for the morning they reach the same conclusion about you. You may 'click' with someone for a while and then go off them. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, don't mourn the future which never happens. Then look for someone else to click with. Or be content clicking with yourself. I'm sorry, I don't know what that last sentence meant either. By the way, adorning the front cover of this month's 'Men's Fitness' magazine is Keith Richards. Sinister: On the nature of ..........."things"

Hello People, ummm.. For some strange reason I felt it nessecary to put my two bits in on this semi-personal disscusion on the nature of love. All this talk about feelings and things for people lead me to wonder wheather these emotions are attached or just float nearby. The problem is that there isn't two kinds of love. There are infinte kinds of love. Love has a different meaning to everyone. For some it is mutal respect, for others just good freindship. For some people it means sex, or when a moment stretches out into a dance of a thousand sensations. The idea is though is if you are looking for someone to "complete" you then odds are you will be dissapointed. The problem being that no one can complete you except you. If you don't have some idea of who "you" are then the signifcant other isn't going to either. Anyway that is just my idea. B&S content.. The map idea sounds lovely except..... That is how "they" are going to find us, when we have to go underground.. Sinister: Chart Scandal

OK, so Tigermilk went into the UK charts at number 13. But that very same week, bands including Blur were complaining that their new singles went into the charts misleadingly low, because due to a computer cock-up all sales from Virgin and Our Price stores were omitted from the chart. And I'll bet a higher proportion of Tigermilks were sold at Virgin than at Woolworths. So I reckon the true chart position should have been even higher (after all, the HMV in-store chart had it at number 4, and at Tower Records I'm told it was number 1). I propose we get Pete Waterman to investigate... Of course, there are other problems surrounding the rerelease. I'm sure I'm not the only person on this list who is anal enough to keep their CD collection in alphabetical order by artist. Well I go one stage further, under each artist they're filed in chronological order. So should Tigermilk be my first B&S album or my last one? Or should I just get a life? .Good morning!!! (Justin-sorry for sending it directly to you the first time) Thought I for once should say a thing or two... first, a little story, once there was a boy and a girl, and they both loved very much a band called BelleandSebastian, they used to mail eachother almost every day, but they had never really met, untill one day, the boy said as a joke (because they lived in different countries)- "we`re having a party saturday, and you`re invited,"- the girl answered, "how about you cancelling the party and come see me in Paris saturday (she was going on a vacation)? " The boy surprised the girl and himself by saying, "why not"? -so they met in Paris the very same week, and had a fine day wandering the streets of Paris.( The party was cancelled anyway) (Sorry if Paul already told you while I were in France.) So, the point is-I have met my first "sinister person", and I had a great time, hope I will get the chance to meet more of you lovely people. Just want to say that listening to Stuart while bicycling through the great nature of France was a perfect way of spending the summer wasting. Lovely fields of sunflowers etc. Wanted to say a thing or two about the "discussion" going on about "perfect love", as I strangly enough have given this a thought especially the last month. As I see it, there is "two kinds of love". The one where you get speachless the moment you see him (her), and you can`t think of anything else but this person, and the other kind, where you meet someone, you like spending time with the person , and even though you don`t feel the "thing", (maybe a little, but not very strongly) you think that you will grow close to this person, and it`s worth giving it a shot. The perfect love for me would be the person I feel the "thing" for, AND can have a great time with, doing stuff, laughing together, crying together ...etc -but this never happends, because when one is having a big crush on someone, ( he might be totally "unsuitable " for you, friends, way of living etc)- every time you see him, you can`t think of anything to say, and if you do, it`s just crap, . Whenever you do get along with someone, everything can seem perfect, except for that you haven`t got the right feeling, what I have called the "thing". You wish you had, but it`s not controllable.You can`t force yourself to feel something. Usually when you do get along, and feel in love, it`s not mutual. Oh God, I`m so negative. Sorry. Anyway, I think this is one of the choices you must take going into a relationship, to give it a try even if you are not feeling the big thing,(you will at some point get close to the person) or wait for it. (THE person)(which can take a long time, it might not even happen) I`ll stop now, this is getting out of hand. Just one more thing, too often I see married couples who bore eachother, so in my opinnion - one of the most important things,through a longlasting relationship, is that you have a good time while beeing togerther. (Ok, I guess not many people hang on to eachother having a bad time together, but do you know what I mean anyway ??Laughter is important.) That`s what I`ve got to say about that issue.
