Hello Everyone, Well I'm back from Germany, I've had a good night's kip and am ready to take whatever the world throws at me. I had a lovely time, thanks for asking. We played on the Reeperbahn, just like the Beatles. Only with less people there to watch us. Peter Miller may want to have a wander down that street if he wants some ideas for his proposed shop. I saw some bad things mother. I've skimmed through the posts that I've missed and am interested in the idea of the Sinister village on an island with Miss Cilla Black. Let's hope it doesn't all turn out like Shipwrecked, with half of us being mardy and sailing off to civilisation. I reckon I'd be good on Sinister island, people say I have a strong mental and physical presence. Or I could just clean up the dog shit if noone else has volunteered. I've just found out that my work are flying me up to Manchester next week and putting me up in a big hotel. Wicked. I love hotels. And I hope they *do* spend loads of money on drinks for me, despite what Mr Geddes wrote in his last diary. Fuck 'em, they can afford it. Doubt they will though, I'll be back on the White Lightening. I was so jealous!!! and it also had a lollipop... I love lollipops especially lemon flavour... I have a lollipop in my mouth whenever I DJ... it's so cool!! But this lollipop was probably James Bond's Lollipop stolen from him!!! I mean, it's a kit, you know.. it has everything... a tiny pencil and a rubber, and even a small magnifying glass... amazing... and the lolly can be replaced... I'm going to use this lollipop kit as a port clés for my scooter keys Juicy Lucy said she'd be honoured to have me at her B&B for my honey moon but I have to give myself in orgies... I don't know Lucy... I'm afraid this is not my type... I'm very oldfashioned and shy I'm afraid... but for you... well... I'll give it a try!!! and the world stopped turning... lots of people are telling me they daydream of the sinister village... and looking forward to move in there... I am too... I mean, why not? Crazier things have happened... why not indeed... I've heard something else yesterday that pissed me off completely... of a listee who has been laughed at in his College from rich guys cause he's poor... Now can you believe that? If anyone can tell me where I found the subject line, they win a giant size Jaffa cake. I've been melting normal size ones down for several weeks now, and I've got one as big, round and tasty as Mick Cooke's smiley face stored under my mattress. Anyhoo, the upshot was that he later got a call from a Scottish radio station accusing him of being anti-Scottish for not getting the interview. What madness! My brother shot to fame in the crazy world of journalism for getting Brian "slap-head" Harvey sacked from East 17 by asking him about his drug intake. That's quality journalism, that is. Oh, just briefly, I've been struck by how much our Sinister village is starting to resemble Animal Farm, especially in light of Miss Scarlet's glorious fashion revolution. Hi, all you foxy foxy sinistereanies, Our good mummy seems a bit distressed about the position she's taken thus far in the Sinister village; were it not for that, I'd be really curious to know how many people remember the ill-fated collective story and (the remarkably worse-fated) collective limerick ideas, and of those people who don't remember, what proportions blocked out the horror of it all, and who really just forgot. Happy Leap Year Day to those lucky Alaskan Belles fans who can still celebrate it. Mine was an utter flop; but I'm resolved to do better come 2004. Yestre-day morning I continued the saga of defying my Anglophilia by going to the dentist. This is now my third Monday in a row; it's almost like I've got a boyfriend. Last week, there was a really sweet moment when my dentist told me that I had 'nice canals'. I closed my eyes, tried not to feel the novocaine or the drilling, and pretty cleared effaced the fact that my dentist is a middle-aged man with silly-looking glasses, bad hair and a moustache, in favour of the image that he was really just a floppy-haired English boy. In tonnes of make-up. It was almost a highly erotic situation. Almost. Which is why I'd like to take this opportunity to put forth the notion that the Sinister Village Dance Academy (there has to be one, hasn't there?) offer special classes in arse dancing. Come now, there *is* some sense in it: the kids are going to do it anyway, whether we like it or not, and they ought to know how to do it right. How many times are we going to have to have it proven to us that avoiding a known problem and preaching abstinence simply doesn't work for it to take? My, I'm feeling contentious. I'd better not finger an instructor. Erica's gallery has been up long enough now for certain images to have lost their fat L@@K AT ME! border, and nobody has yet put up anything legitimately vulgar. I must say I'm disappointed, not only in all of you, but in myself, for having not personally done so. But, really, it's not my fault: can a boy make it to 19 in this world anymore without realising the thong panties are a bad idea? Feel free to mail me privately with your thoughts/experiences on this intriguing and universally relevant subject. I hope everybody here sees what a desperate façade all of this is, and that I'm really a quiet, reserved person. I don't know that relevant experience should immediately disqualify one for Sini-village employment, but in my case, it really ought to. A boy apparently also can't in this krazy! modern world reach 19 without learning that, no matter how well you try to maintain your physique, no matter how many hours one spends jogging and swimming, no matter how beautifully colour-coördinated one's outfit is, men and average customers do not appreciate one's particular inclination to wear hotpants and knee-socks. Even after one hikes up the apron to it's clear from all sides that one's really wearing those hotpants. And isn't it patently obvious by now that my proper place is across the counter from Marie? Somebody a ways back wondered about the possible existence of pornography in the sini-village, and I must say that I'm in favour of it. With the sole qualification that it be for the people who really want nothing more, and not for the people who really want other people. For the latter, we should erect something of a charitable hospital where lonely folks can come in and have their sorrows relieved and their self-images repaired. I'm sure you all know what I mean, and shame on you for thinking it! This, though is a pale extension of Adam Apparatus' now-legendary kissing-booth idea; as such, I'd like to nominate him as head nurse. The ordinary nursing-staff would have a fairly high turnover rate, and would be comprised largely of people convicted of minor crimes (it *is* community service, after all), as an alternative to picking up garbage or breaking rocks by the roadside. There would be tenured positions for those sordid types who really might enjoy it, and the rest of the employee body would be made up of people randomly chosen from the populace. Quite like jurors. But, as a measure of good faith, I'd like to enter myself as one of the first staffers, to see the operations go smoothly. Oh, dear. /me hurries frantically through memories looking vaguely for content. Yes! I looked this up in the archives already, though, which I must say are now quite fantastic. Plastic Fantastic, even, as you can search even for things like 'arse muscles' and 'fisting malarkey' (both of which I didn't search for, btw, but conjecture nonetheless). I bought the Brian Jonestown Massacre's 1998 release 'Strung Out in Heaven,' and have been loving it ever since. My nostalgia is 1968, thankyouverymuch! I was looking through the notes on the inside, and among the list of thank-you's is named Belle & Sebastian! Can anybody (yes, of you seven of twelve hundred who's still with me by now) draw me a little diagram of the connexion between the two? I can't believe I'm feeling tarty enough to send this. hallo. right. rachel said something about having to argue with her friends about struan's voice. i have also had this fight, usually with friends who are *gulp* 'nsync fans. hmph. i have no formal training (save for the children's church choir) but i think it's a good voice. he hits notes that would make a grown man cry. or groan ;) /me sends massive, massive props to laurallew -- our southern belle milkmaid chaperone -- for my lil birthday tribute last tuesday. i don't remember writing a few of them, but the lollipop one ... > "But they gave me a purple lollipop, and who can be upset with a > lolli in her mouth? Sinister: a GRATE big thank you

For those who don't know, the Beach Boys are the end-all-be-all of music for me. The only band who can top B&S in my book. With this in mind, yes I trudged through the mini-series for the past two nights hoping to have my mind changed with regard to TV movies (i.e.- I fucking hate them). All in all, I thought it started out pretty spot-on and then turned a bit crap. The one scene that totally made my skin crawl was were the boys were doing the vocals to "Wouldn't Be Nice" and, as usual, Mike and Brian were going at it. Mike said Pet Sounds was "worthless ego music" when Carl steps in and, with perfectly stomach-turning drama, sighs "Michael, what does that matter when you have music like THIS?" as he motions to the headset playing the FINISHED vocals of WIBN, "How can you hear music like this and not want to be a part of it?" Other than that scene I found it pretty decent. I thought the guy who played Murry Wilson was pretty ace, and the scene where the boys' mom chews him out for selling the songs was GRATE (as everyone seems to be spelling). I watched the Brian Wilson Biography on A&E a few days before the TV movie and I just found it hilarious how they took scenes and memories straight out of that special and put them in the movie. It insured historical accuracy and probably kept alot of unnecessary tear-jerking out of the mix, but it was just like watching the Biography twice (except Marilyn is alot hotter in the movie). You've also got it backwards, Mike Love is the fucking prick of the group (as anyone on Sinister will tell you). He sued Brian for $5 million dollars last year, he tours under the Beach Boys tag by himself, plus he bragged to everyone how he was the one who purposely drove Brian insane. I hate that fucker and his stupid hats. Keith- if I were you, I'd save my money on "Smiley Smile" and try to pick up the "Good Vibrations" box set. Its so amazing! 5 discs, and the 5th disc is nothing but tracks of Brian building the songs in the studio, or stack-o-vocals type stuff where its strictly them singing. The stack-o-vocals mix of "California Girls" will send shivers up your spine! You know, I also think this album "could" be B&S last. Not because of any rumor I've heard, but as taxing as its become to make this album, plus Stuart D's departure, it would seem to make it likely. I hope its not, thats for sure.
