boo, i'm trying to decide if i'm having a good or a bad morning so far. maybe someone can help me out: 1 mum drives me to the busstop since i'm late (as usual) and informs me that i must be having a gender identity crisis because i didn't dry my hair this morning (no time, again) and i had my hands in my pocket "like a boy". i could go on and on about the things she said but i'll just leave it at that-the g-g-g-gist. 1.5 cried for 15 minutes at busstop/busride. 2 beautiful boy on the bus keeps staring at me whilst we are in transit. 3 freaky man with the hearing aids who looks like a child molester sits beside me and also keeps looking at me. 3.5 am listening to b&s for the first time in a Really long time. 4 now i'm at work and i just spilled coffee all over me. <sigh> i don't know what to do. hello to everyone new and old and to those who cry on buses (like me) and to those in germany (like me soon) and to those who dry their hairs in the morning (who are so much better than me-ha!) and to those going to beantown today. xo, kimmy +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org. well well well. look what you pretty little things have been up to. i'd say that i'm sorry that i've not posted in, oh, Months, but 1) it's been so long that the whole list is new and doesn't care one whit about lil ree, and 2) i'm not sorry. mwahahaha. yesterday i arranged a late lunch so i could walk into harvard square to a comic book store where an artist i like a lot was doing a signing. but the store was full of cool-looking kids (hellO!! comic book kids are supposed to be big DORKS) and there was a huge line so i just ran away quickly and ended up sitting by the river freezing my tookus off and feeling sorry for myself. so signing, no lunch. nada. DAMON. i think both steven kado and christiaan lampinen have mentioned BODY PARTS and i'm pretty sure they've not submitted to the BODY PARTS PAGE. i demand enforcement. of course i haven't checked the page in a while, seeing as how my internet connection is so damn slow that i can only run one on-line application at once and #sinister usually takes preference over email, porn, eating & sleeping, etc. mark c. totally inspired me to write. mark -- and all london and possibly edinburgh listees -- julie and i will be descending upon ye for our newyears/winter holiday. two weeks with two gorgeous american girls. what ever will you do? and Evil London DDR Team, you best be ready because julie is the Perfect Dance Machine (tm) and i'm, well, the Perfect Cheerleading Machine ("that's alright, that's okay," etc etc). this has nothing to do with b&s, but then again, b&s don't seem to have anything to do with b&s lately either. i have in my possession a $20 gift certificate to HMV. what will i spend it on? only time will tell. i'm stuffed up. weather changes suck. who loves you baby? xoxo, ree ===== *********************************************************** "to me she was just marie." -mersault "hearts don't break/ the division is innate." -secret stars *********************************************************** __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? While you're all trying to find a rhyme for "orange", you can work on "month" as well. The only thing I've come up with is "cunth", and that isn't even a proper word. (But I think I like it just the same.) Oh, and goosing someone is giving them a gentle squeeze or poke on the behind (not to be confused with a goose step, which should be something like Gansschritt, but which looses all of its idiomatic charm as Stechschritt (sharp step?)). I dunno -- I suspect the Queen Mum might get off on that kind of thing (the goosing, not the goosestepping). Autour de Lucie anyone? wow, i haven't posted in eons. but then i saw this and couldn't resist. <<PS Did anyone know the fasinating fact that there are no words at all in the English language which rhyme with "orange".>> actually, a year or so ago there was a little competition in which sinister kids were supposed to make up poems that rhymed impossible words as "orange" and "silver". i submitted a very, very bad poem that stole jad fair's trick of "orange" and "door hinge" while at the same time mentioning stuart's arms of sex and rhyming "silver" with "kill her". if that wasn't bad enough, i submitted the poem under my ENTIRE name, like first name and last name, and because of that if anyone enters my name into a search engine, this poem is one of the first thing that comes up. it doesn't sound like a bad thing, does it? well, it's freaking me out more and more every day. i'll be graduating from university in less than two years and i just *know* that during a job interview type thing they'll do a quick scan of my name on the internet to see what happens. what will come up? a crappy poem about sex, killing people and sinister things. lovely. i even emailed the guy who runs the site where the poems are located but i've gotten no response. goddamn. otherwise... dear emily posted about this awhile ago, but i'll remind you all again -- we will be hosting a stephin merritt tribute night at the rancho relaxo in toronto. it's on friday november 3rd (the date changed), will cost $3 and we'll play a bunch of magnetic fields, future bible heroes, the 6ths, etc plus tons more. it has a good name too - how fucking romantic. come come come! teri, who is glad that eddie won big brother. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Sinister: zombified by don mckellar

lo' and behold, autumn(e) brings bugs into the house; i have gleaned this from sinister and from my own experiences. i had to kill a small spider the other day as it reminded me that bigger spiders would be on their nasty way. but today i rescued, of all things, a furry caterpillar from the batting paws of my bad black cats. i think it must have hitched a ride indoors on the back of my pantleg. which got me to thinking about how to encase myself and my apartment in a succession of plastic bubbles and airlocks. ah, but nature's great, just as long as it doesn't get on me. as i was riding my bike to work today i thought, "now this is more like it" b/c the weather has turned to damp and overcast again. but i was really loving summer weather and still cannot bring myself to wear socks yet. as much as i do love certain socks. anyway, it seemed that everything moved slower today, even the rain. and no cars tried to kill me either. i think that perhaps i personify cars too much (by which i mean give cars human attributes, not give myself, an inaminate object, car attributes), thinking that the revving of an engine as a car passes within millimetres of me is an expression of anger/spite/misfired frustration. when really it is just the sound a car makes. but really it is more the sound that the driver makes the car make. i have some issues to work out there. sigh. will porter posted. and steven kado boasted. will porter said the word "rad". he also said "swell". aren't words the greatest? "gee". ("shoulder pads" i could do without though.) i have seen many film fest movies and the fest is only half-over. but i calmed down about it and prescribed to the "quality, not quantity" rationale. phew. unfortunately, the japanese zombie guitar wolf "wild zero" movie that k, steven spoke of could not be seen by me as family descended upon my apartment, causing a rethinking of priorities. ag. where is my bubble world? there is a restaurant near my old house called "bubble world". they serve nothing but bubble drinks. the weirdest drink in the world... i challenge all to name a (real) drink that is weirder than one that is half-full of marble-sized squishy tapioca balls that surprise the drinker each and every time they shoot up the wide and usually neon-coloured straw and into the drinker's un/suspecting mouth. sort of the equivalent to the mouth what a strobe light is to the eyes. thoroughly disorienting. yet still, fun. and sometimes lychee flavoured. i saw don mckellar eating popcorn one row up and eight seats over from me in a movie theatre five days ago. i spazzed internally. but did not say hello (!). i meant to seize the moment, but the moment seized me, etc, etc, my sweet old et c. somehow having a crush on a canadian celebrity seems okay. probably b/c there aren't too many who are crushable... or, more probably, b/c the words "canadian" and "celebrity" are a rare combination indeed (i exclude the obvious fr-cdn chanteuse here). and then there's Pierre Trudeau. who died yesterday. but i don't want to talk politics. the cbc is doing enough of that for me. a writer told a story about how everyone was in love with trudeau even if they didn't know it, even if they didn't agree with his politics. i cried; i was susceptible; it was morning; i was just told i was in love with the man who made canada officially bilingual and so much more. and it hurts when love is lost. love robyn n n n n n n n (can you believe what came out of my mouth the other day? i said: "you spell it with a 'y' - it's easy to remember b/c i'm much more of a why person than an I person." insane. i had to cut myself off from movies and gin for at least 2 to 3 hours.) ===== I was reading the dictionary. You know, Will Porter is a name that reminds me of early cinema. A scholar or a director? I can barely remember these days. It's been a while. A while since I studied that stuff, I mean, but also a while since the days of early cinema.
