While everyone seems to be putting their two cents in, and all the
head-bangers are being outed, I remember my two brothers and myself being
driven to the local college (Stony Brook) to check out Quiet Riot. I
musta been seven or eight, but it was my first concert ever. It was too
loud and I remained seated along with another woman and we both plugged
napkins into our ears while everyone else rushed the stage. I couldn't
really see anything, but the highlight was when the drummer threw his
drumstick and it struck me in the chest. I was too stunned to make a grab
for it.
B+S stuff:
And any truth to the news that the 3 eps will be released in america with
new tracks?
When's the next lp due?
that's it for me

didn't go into town this dinnertime, thought i'd skip work
early and go and buy the new ep then. have just been told by
one of my spies that the virgin meagrestore had a whole one
copy left when he was there. (still bloody hundreds of the
spice girls cds left though)
looks like it's time to stop messing around and have
tomorrow morning off in order to pop to watford where they
may still have copies left. or should i go the whole hog and
go to london on the off-chance that they're sold out in
watford too. decisions, decisions.
not heard the recent session yet either - i'm obviously not
a true fan...
woe, woe, woe is me
oh, i did notice this morning that the start of 'slow
graffiti' sounds a lot like the start of 'laughing gnome' -
'i was walking, down the high street, when i heard footsteps
behind me...'
andy
oh, jennifer, i'm waiting on a tape of the sessions before
sending it back to you, everything else is done.

the first time i heard the single, i liked 'le pastie..' the most - i had
heard it before off the internet. i'm not sure exactly, but i think my
favourite has to be 'beautiful' now, because it's, well, beautiful, to put
it simply. i can't get over how wonderful the ep is - there is another
one coming out quite soon, isn't there - does anyone know what it's
called?
what about the album - someone must know something about it -
there have been missives all today and yesterday speculating on what it'll
be like. i guess we just have to wait and see.
love, Rob
p.s. thanks to everyone who's mailed me over the last couple of days - i
really appreciate it.

Why did they write a song about Seymour Stein then eh? Did he say he'd give
them a contract in exchange or something, like what Lisa Marie Presley did,
allegedly. (H------S...Hipsters? (in the '60's before they became pants))

It's a fair point - I thought it was funny when the french chap on the list pointed out he didn't know what it meant!
Is it perhaps a Cornish Pastie? In a sort of "Let them eat pies" fashion.

i've just joined in (am obviously more easily satisfied than that
demanding totv "character") and would like to add my thought about
the 3,6,9er ; when i listened to 'le pastie' via the web page it
had this lovely distorted twanky twaaaAAAnGG jaunty piano bit, does
the actual recording have it (yet to get home to lissen) or is that
my dodgy speaker?
[Keith Watson]
I haven't listened to the one on the web page, but I've had it on a tape for ages and it is a different version that I've got, basically not much different, just a different kind of mix, more lead guitar.
Keith.

Funny, I never thought of the Smiths with the Dog on Wheels cover, but
yesterday when I saw the cover of 3..6..9 I thought of them immediatly.
The colours reminded me of "Rank". I like the B & S covers, very
nice. And I like the wee stories. The smiths never gave you a wee
story.
The last band who's covers I loved were that of Suede. Remember the
white backgrounds with the 'artistic' images on the front? I was gutted
when they stopped doing them.
I'm very talkative today, aren't I?
Chris

Yes Tim,
I would agree with you on the covers front. 'Dog..' was VERY
Smithsian almost to the point of self-parody. A sure fire
case of wearing influences on your sleeve. I'm also reminded
of the old Woodentops and, to an extent Housemartins,
sleeves. Anyone else have an opinion?

Hi!
I think I remember that the one from Jeepster who threatened the soon-to-be
bootleggers mentioned another ep (which means another one than 3..6..9...)
before this year ends. I didn´t save that posting, but that´s how i
remembered it.
I might be wrong, though.
So the question remains unanswered... Any rumors?
Keith Watson!
You mentioned "Please kill me " and "From the Velvets..." which I tought
was interesting as I plan to order them from Bokus.com. How are they, and
most important do they cover the same artists and in that case, which one
is the best?
You can send the answer straight to me, as I lost your adress...
