I think the first year of The Simpsons is eminently watchable, but I have to say that I think it's gotten better over the years for the simple fact that, as time has progressed, we've come to know virtually every citizen of Springfield, dozens of characters with all their hilarious idiosyncrasies. Totally! I adore Habiib! He is adorable! Did you see that episode in which he popped in and said "he's the extra arms on Vishnu" at which point I totally lost all combobulation...
