Sinister: Orlando

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about Orlando record stores. I went to Park Avenue CD and, while it was an interesting place, they had very little of what I was looking for, except they did have the new Cranes ep collection, two weeks before it's supposed to be out and a Dead Can Dance bootleg. I can't rememeber the addresses of those who told me about the place, or I would have sent this to you individually as opposed to the whole list, but can you tell me any other stores around? I went driving around, but didn't see anything. I still have a few days left. Anyone have any word on when the BandS session at west 54th will be on? here's a top ten compiled by someone who hasn't heard (but has found a contact for) the 'Tigermilk' album. Well, I have heard 'The State...' but only on the 'Dog on Wheels' thingy. the state i am in seeing other people judy and the dream of horses belle and sebastian fox in the snow stars of track and field le pastie de la bourgeoisie dylan in the movies beautiful get me away from here, i'm dying Belle and Sebastian are truly wonderful. A few musings on TOTP. 1) I am gutted that B&S won't be on. (I take it we are assuming that sales will decline this week as the fan-base only buy one copy each?) 2) The reason I a gutted is because they would have looked so out of place in that studio. 3) The reason I am gutted is because I would have loved to see the pop thrill of B&S in its rightful place, cheek-by-wotsit with the savage heart of nineteen ninety seven pop music. 4) TOTP is about big, out pop records. I love pop music. Although they dont send me like B&S, give me the Spice Girls and Aqua a hundred times out of a hundred if the alternative is the worthy, heads down dullness of rawk and roll sleepwalkers like Ash. Even (cough) the vile Peter Andre is preferable to that. 5) If TOTP turned into some kind of haven for alt. rock, I would cry. And perhaps stamp my feet. 6) Get with the pop programme, kids! If not, maybe we could all save our pennies, so that Peter has a lovely brand new Styophone for Xmas, and we can hear his very own Stylophone mishap stories instead of Rolf Harris & the Beach Boyz... [Keith Watson] There's a load of posters around Edinburgh at the moment of a club called DayTripper which features a large picture of Rolf proudly displaying his Stylophone... The guy who runs this club is a chap called Chris whom I gave a B+S ticket to last march as I'd bought a few extra - so it's probable that's why - I'll ask him next time I see him.
