I've always found that great music for shagging/gettin' down/gettin' busy is '80's stuff: Prince's 1999 especially, but all those Rhino comps are mighty nice too. Especially the one with "Relax" "Hold Me Now" and "Cruel Summer" (vol. 13, I believe). I'd love to post something about shag albums but what the hell do i know about shagging. I can say I always get excited when I hear the theme to Grandstand so my old BBC sporting themes album would probably be a first choice - imagine making out to the Horse of the Year show music or Rugby Special (with the voice of Bill McLaren in your head whispering - "Och the young lad's an absolute monster in the tackle department..."). And if you wanted to prolong the 'pleasure' you could use the theme to the golf to give you something boring to think about. Of course if I ever was likely to do any of that shagging I've heard all about the last thing on my mind would be "better put on some music". I'd be too busy thinking "Socks on or off??". Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. Anyhow there has been some talk of B&S and Leadership skills. And this gave me a fab money spinning idea to run past the folks at Jeepster. The Belle And Sebastian Executive Leadership training weekend!! Day 1 10.30 Registration at the Church Hall. Delegates must hand over their briefcases and receive a stuffed toy from Seargents Campbell and Martin. 11- 1 Working in a village shop. Delegates are given a fixed number of posters to put up. The purpose of this exercise to get normally focussed managers to day-dream on the job. Special commendations for the most elaborate fantasy world and any that involve aforementioned stuffed animal. Light Lunch 2-3.30pm Scream therapy. Colour-Seargent Colbourn wanders around with a placard saying "Business World" on it. Delegates are encouraged to boo and hiss and work out their unresolved professional tensions. 3.30 - 5 Cross Country Obstacle course. After a short address from Gunner Cooke who puts on a Windsor Davies voice and assures delegates many of them may not return and that he is a real man and they is a bunch of poofs, delegates must construct a dog on wheels from items found laying around the church hall and guide it around the playground. They must disregard the sorties of enemy partisans (Colonel David) who forcefully informs them that there efforts are "pish" and "he's off". Early Night Day2 9.00 am Regimental Drill Seargent (Me-and-the) Major "Howlin' Mad" Murdoch wakes delegates with a cup a tea and the hope that they slept well. 10.00 am Board bus for town centre. (it's only a mile and a half but it does take a long time) 10.30 - 11. Table Turning in Marks and Spencers Delegates must be quick on their feet. Rather than the traditional business skills of of blaming other people, delegates will be encouraged to take responsible if the security guards do seem to care. 11 - 12 Riding city buses. Delegates must draw pretty patterns in the windows and thus unleash their creativity. Over lunch the newly promoted Admiral Geddes and Wing-Commander Jackson will explain the final challenge. Delegates will be split into teams and lead down to the banks of the River Kelvin. One member from each team will be zipped into a Lord Anthony parka with pencils stuffed into the sleeve pockets rendering him/her unable to look left or right up or down or bend their arms. His/her colleagues must then guide them over a narrow plank using a stylophone and Serge Gainsbourg songs. Absolute trust in the abilities of your team is crucial to the success of this mission. Once across the river the delegate must pick up an Arab Strap and be instructed to put it on by his/her team. Photographs are then taken and sold to fetish magazines. The team that makes the most money wins! Sinister: live taping at athens

hello, I've notised the big ruckus about copies of tigermilk and such being put on CDs. How this has an impact on B&S revenues since 95% of us will want our own mastered copy instead of a bassy phono copy from tape or CD, i don't know and am not willing to discuss at the moment. one thing that I don't see being discussed is live taping. is it allowed? if so, is it audience or soundboard? I would really like to tape the upcoming athens show (if it's still on; I haven't seen a confirmation yet), but I don't know anything about B&S' or jeepster's policy. Sinister: Phillly disaster, XFM....

i am still ultra devestated by last week's debacle. i will write more when i am no longer jet lagged and have actually been to my house to regroup. meanwhile i received this letter from the radio commission this morning: ========================================= 26 October 1998 Following your complaint - and others - the Radio Authority has considered the broadcasts of Xfm against its Promise of Performance. In summary, the outcome is that Authority Members have fined the company #4,000 (four thousand pounds) and we will be having talks with Xfm over the coming weeks. The Authority will be looking at the position again in the New Year. Members felt in particular the absence of the features as outlined - notwithstanding any problems encountered during the re-location of the studios - breached the spirit and, in specific instances also, the letter of the Promise of Performance. These are features which would include music and information not heard on other, more mainstream, stations. You will note that the Authority has welcomed changes made to the output recently. The present Xfm playlist may not be to the taste of every single alternative music fan. It is, however, far enough from those of mainstream stations to demonstrate commitment on the part of Xfm that "generally outside the mainstream" is the audience they do wish to address. The Authority understands that specialist music stations attract, quite obviously, the sort of passion not necessarily inspired by more mainstream stations. For example, certain country music fans deride "line dance" music and say it has no place on country stations, and that country should mean New Country. Others think Old Country should form the basis of stations, and anything else is just "spice". Arguments rage about whether artists can remain alternative when they are popular. What happens when an alternative track charts and becomes popular with people who don't normally follow the alternative scene? Is it alternative or mainstream? However, the Authority can only concern itself with one simple issue, which in the case of Xfm, is to ensure the station serves a market which is "generally outside the mainstream". We will continue to monitor the direction of the music and the Authority will look again at the whole question of Xfm output again in the New Year. may have to apologize for this one: in the title track of SINISTER, i heard, amillion times over... she was into FNM and bible studies, not everyone's cup of tea... FNM, being Faith No More, the band... which i thought was tre-cool coz the line went from Faith No More to bible studies, a kule paradox...THEN... Morning (GMT). Whats all this "shag-album" malarky ? Does it come free with six tokens from packets of Old Holborn ? What a load of arse-slappin bollocks. Shirley b'jeeves if you boys and girls ain't makin' babies, then you makin' sweeeeeeeeeeet music ? Then what need of a slip-sloppin' soundtrack ? All that noise, you gonna get confused sweet Jesus yes you are. Whilst you're plumbing the depths with that monkey wrench, with Struan MacMcMaddog "Seeing other people" tearing at the lobes, you haven't got your mind on the job have you ? Did you know that the listening of Belle and Sebastian during intercourse can lead to deflation of purple bell-end and water-retention round left knee ? Well it can so stop it. I say if you can't make that music by yourselves then the only record you should even think of using as a backing track is Gina G's "Ooh-Arrr Just a little bit". You can sing along if you're any good, though it gets a bit boring when you stick it on repeat forty-seven times....heh heh heh !!! Peter out Miller in out in.....that Starsky and Hutch is very good. I have a picture I did on the old windows paintbrush of Dougall from the old supernatural whirlygig fame that I want to send to Honeys Mummy page. Unfortunately it's in .BMP format and I don't know what to do to make it .jpg friendly. HELP !!! Is anyone organising a South-Coast meet-up during the xmas/new year period ? As much as I would like to go to Glasgow, it's quite a long way for weird country-folk who don't get out much, and due to family and future family committments over that period, I definitely am not going to be able to travel. I'm sure many are in the same boat.....any ideas forthcoming ? Julian Cope claims that "Blackdance" by Klaus Schutze was his seduction album. I bought it, just out of curiosity, and it never fails to send me to sleep. It's pretty good though - wurp-wurp-wurp - that kind of thing. That's strange you should say that Peter, as I was in Virgin yesterday on my day off work, and was hearing a bit of Julian "Copey" Cope's new record, then I kind of thought, hey, there's some bloke that looks dead like Julian Cope, and then started thinking "Why is there a queue behind this bloke", so it turns out it is actually Julian Cope, wackily dressed up as Swampy or something. I was thinking the other day also about how you could better describe the great Moog synthesizer, and I hit upon the idea of mentioning great Moog songs, and came down to my two favourite Moog solos, which come from Ike and Tina Turner's "Nutbush city limits" and Heatwave's "Boogie nights", both totally great Moog solos, indeed the former record, so I'm told by my mum and dad was the first record I ever danced too - so there you go, as this track came out in 1973 it turns out I'm so cool, I was into Moog solos from almost before I was born! Hello again to all sinisterines! Sorry because I sent that unsubscribe message to the list instead of majordomo@...etc.And anyway, it was not a true unsubscribing , as it is just I have changed my address (both electronic and physical) So, let's talk about sex.Here it is my own little contribution to the best shagging albums ever issue which is going on lately : According to my humble point of view, as always, predicted theoretical results are not too close to experience...I would validate 'Orange' seems perfect from outside and 'Suede' is ace, at least, I have checked its suitability for seducting but my greatest own hits might be 'Debaser' or 'Something changed', not to talk of something as uncool as Ozric Tentacles. Mind rules the body or body rules the mind?'->that's the question... Two personal remarks : a) Pour Philippe le charmant : tu fais de la chemie aussi,non? Comme moi.
