Oooooh- hoooooo, I got my tickets for the D.C.-a-goo-goo gig yesterday.... anyone trying to dial the number from Ms. House's posting of gig numbers and dates should realize that the last two digits of the phonenumber she gave, for D.C. at least, are in fact reversed. I wonder, uh, is anyone else going? I hear no news whatsoever of D.C. being close to sold out, which is, I guess, in its own guilty way, fine by me. So yes, please, somebody write me and tell me what to wear. Information Studies? Sounds a bit circular....wouldn't that be, uh, ogyology or something? I read in Ben Goldberg's (guilty pleasure number 2 in case you're counting) "Badaboom Gramaphone" that Matador was to compile the EP's onto one CeeDee and release it..... is there truth to this? Fantasy cover.... ummm..... I'd love to hear the Roches(#3) have a go at "The Boy Done Wrong Again". With Bud Powell playing piano. And Leonard Cohen on turntables(#4). And Celine Dion clacking castanets, and, undermiked, humming, "Oooooooooooooh". Hee haw (#5). Get to work. It's nicest at this time of year, when the green leaves are already dead on the trees, and the air is turning crisp at the edges. Afternoon all !! Sat here and thought I'd write the lyrics for Paperboat down. Sinister: list tape

I think a tape sounds like a fantastic idea, and I'd love to be involved. Last summer my band played a couple of covers of b+s songs, one of which was You Made Me forget my dreams. We started off quiet and calm only acoustic guitar, then gradually bass and then my drummer on snare but building up till the last few bars were almost early spiritualized-type drowning sound. The only constants were the steady guitar and the voice which didn't change tone while everything else was getting bigger (vicar). Anyway a London rec.sesh sounds like an idea. Oooh! I've tuned my old radio in, and dusted off my GCSE french, and I'm waiting with bated ears, or something. I haven't listened to french radio since my school days.I keep expecting there to be questions: a) Why is M.Lenoir unhappy? b) How many dogs went missing in Clemont Ferrent? c) What is the mayor of Lyon's hobby? d) Is the mushroom museum open on Wednesdays? I went round a mushroom museum once. Actually that's a lie. I nearly did, but we all went to the troglodyte village instead. It was a school trip; we stayed in a monastry and in the evenings, we'd sneak off to the vineyard to drink cider, and cough on Gauloises. I liked France. You can buy cigarettes when you're very young. There's a cafe on almost every street corner and beer drinking's obligatory. The french for key cutting is tampon. Possibly. I may have made the last bit up. Only a few hours to go. People in southern Britain, you can pick up France Inter easily- it's around 160 long wave-right at the far left of your radio dial, and spreads far either side: it's really easy to find. At least I'm sure that it's France Inter- there's a man getting very angry about Belgian Croissants at the moment. As far as I can make out. The jingles also seem to be written by John Shuttleworth. Hi list, Its been a while since I've written, but having taken Tami's advice I visited the treehouse and heard the new looper tracks, and felt compelled to write. If you like everything else the StuD and Karn have done, well if you liked the single, then I'd take a little wander down to the site. If you didn't like it, well you are wrong. I also can't wait to hear the new songs that B&S did on the French Session, has anyone got any opinions on them? I know Funkyseb likes paperboat, but what about wrong love? And oh to have Isobel singing "that french song" on tape, oh I can't wait.
