ok, i am about to present to you one of the most hated questions that any listee would do well to cower in writhing agony from: can someone tape me a copy of tigermilk? it's a fitting twist of fate that, in a year where my life has pretty much been turned topsy-turvy, when our car was stolen last week, those bloody bandits also made of with my copy of tigermilk, backed with the american pbs concert for sessions at west 54th in new york and some radcliffe sessions. add to this, that i've copied the tape for several other people, the irony is somewhat apparent. who knows, maybe i've involuntarily introduced some shady types to the music of b&s, thereby ensuring that a huge bootleg market will pop up working somewhere out of a warehouse in poland... so, dear friends and fellow listees, after this reat long, grating sob of a story, is there anyone out there with a heart, with a grain of compassion, that could share a little taped copy of tigermilk with me? if not, things might be looking up if, in fact, it may be scheduled for a spring 99 release on cd... cheers, alex +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". OP8 has the same elements that made me fall in love with Belle and Sebastian, of course, OUR lovely duo is *MAGIC*, more than ANY other "living" band in this f *** world. I was reading some old magazines yesterday and i found a funny thing in BLAH BLAH BLAH #1 (How many BLAH's are too many ?) Damon Albarn Cover. This is a nice magazine. The Damon Albarn/Irvine Welsh [a "meeting" interview] is GREAT. I like Blur a lot..i know it does not make me Twee. It does not make me a cool guy and Honey will unsubscribe me from Sinister. ... but i like them,even the "pavement" album. 2 years ago i was alone and bored walking in Camden Town. [May i say SAD ?] I decided to eat something and get cancer. I bought Silk Cut and some food...than i saw Graham in front of that supermarket in front of the tube exit in Camden High Street. He looks like a Japonese Cartoon, he does not have a butt and he's shorter than me. A friend of mine once saw Morrissey walking down King's Road. She told me he looks like a HAPPY man. [ooops, bad joke] Tell us. Which Pop Star you saw recently ? Did you see any Pop Star in B&S's gig ? The Damon/Irvine Interview has some funny parts. Irvine told about that funny photo..THAT photo he took with a boxer short and a plastic cone in his head. He told about another photo with some bananas on it. but i think it's better not tell all the datails cause there're some UNDER 18 here. Damon told about a photo he took in Germany He was having a shower and soaping up his dick. I've got a friend who's a Damon fan I think she could die if she "put her eyes" in some Damon's "private parts". I forgot to order the new Belle and Sebastian Ep today Blame on me. Lucky listeeeeees. You went to a record shop today and you bought the new Ep. Life can be so easy. I hate Fax machines and computers are devil's work. Sinister: A message from across the pond

Hello list, I'm usually not the one to contribute but I've just gotten home in a good mood form a night from a night out (it's probably the only time I contribute. Thank alcohol, or damn alcohol depending on your prospective. Oh, well.) Regarding the whole cultural empirialism thing, I don't know what to say. I love being an American but I realize that are so many places that I would like to visit and so many interesting people that I will never meet. I think everyone no matter where they live knows that the songs on the radio may never be what everyone is looking or, but that's not going to stop everyone from listening. All I know is that I'm listening to the new EP and I think it's great. I'm looking forward to the new material (fingers crossed). Anyway, I am jealous of all of the (limited as it may be) TV exposure that B&S get in the UK. I missed their appearance on the American 120 Minutes. Studying or something silly like that. I hope everyone involved with the Athens video has a good time. I think it would be a lot of fun to participate in a thing like that. Sinister: tiggerjammy content here!

Hello list You can all sigh now that I've got my very own TIGGERJAMMY, and I've been a smiling happy girl ever since. Which was about 3 hours ago. It cost me 10 twitting dollars. When did melodies begin to cost so much? Am I possibly the biggest dork in the world, who upon listening to TIGGERJAMMY went promptly to David and Katrina's voting booth and updated my votes? Now that I've said that, don't forget to go there and vote! Right now, Lord Anthony is the most popular, following by Modern Rock Song, followed by Slow Graffiti. Oh I really am pathetic. But oh what a good song Lord Anthony is... oh. Yep, I think the session version of Modern Rock Song is better, but this one is darn darn darn good too. So I won't complain. Who wants the same song over twice anyway? Now we have two different, lovely melodies to rest our souls with. Is Stevie trying to sound like an opera singer? I Know Where the Summer Goes.. not what I was expecting. It's the title resemblence to A Summer Wasting that threw me off. I subconsciously expected something more p!o!p!. I don't know what to call this, but I think I like it. Yes, it's a nice little song. The Gate is not bad as you all have been telling me. It's pretty good, but nothing to get really happy about. I think. Isobel even sounds like Stuart at one point, which can't be bad. I heard Slow Graffiti at the NY show, but there were so many different instruments playing at once that all I could do was gaze at the stage and say 'yes'. But w!o!w! when I listened to the EP. it was so freaking good I could not control myself. The best part is the moment when all the instruments start at once, towards the beginning. Oh and Dorian Gray. I read that this summer, ooh it's good. I had bought it a few years ago, erm.. for the way it looked and put it on the shelf. That's the end of my review. I hope I have not merely restated other people's opinions; I tried not to read too many of your TIGGERJAMMY reviews so as not to spoil the fun. But i'm just a pushover for pretty music, is that so wrong? her songs are pretty, clever, honest and straightforward, and it makes me happy to hear her voice. it's nothing more complicated than that. and if she does put out her own records (HOORAY PRAISE JESUS LET IT BE!) i will definitely dish out the money for them and enjoy them over and over again. hehe, i mean it doesn't all have to be, emm....you know, like the next lou reed or whatever you call it, it's pretty music and i think it's damn good and i will not be ashamed to say so. but as i've inferred before, I used to be a pretty big madonna fan, i never said i had no book lernin', so let me be!!! d'oh!! Um, Isobel rules and i want to propose to her and she can sing any song she wants in my company, i dont care if it's row row row your boat. Hmmm??? Oh, and anyone who thinks isobel isn't twee, needs glasses or something. I thought of a cartoon, Dottycakes and Pishnibbles, starring in "Twee as Fuck" they travel to the greater NYC Oi! convention and set up a pastel cabana selling their zine, Pretty Pretty Flowers Ebberywhere, and their new single, "I Love the Way those Little Baubles Jangle On Your Plastic Fingers(the Rice Pudding Song)". Dotty is the girly, Pish is the teeny boy. Twee as Fuck is such a daunting way of life to the punkers in their suspenders and tongue rings, who formerly thought they were a bunch of hard-asses but find themselves with battered and bruised egos from the pretty taunts those Twee bastards hurl at them. those little heart candies can hurt like a mother!!! i trust you will all be excited to see Jess's newest creation which will eventually be featured on the Wee world of isobel. it is indeed an Isobel doll, my Very Own isobel doll to be exact. she does bear a somewhat uncanny resemblance to what you might assume the Really Wee Isobel may have looked like back in the days of lollipops and school uniforms (de jure, that is). and WHOA that fashion sense!! coulda fooled me, definitely. i'm very jealous of this doll's outfit, I want one myself. JUst you wait...... aww how adowabow!! today i was incredibly bored and tired. in the library i found some ripped up shreds of a legal pad, in little ragged squares, and to pass the time i drew little isobels all over them, some in Is it Wicked scenes, others in tiger cap, and i wrote tiggerjammies all over them, and Sexy Milk Fiend, and i'm planning to scatter these all over the world when i travel. i left three of them in strategically placed spots on campus today. particularly on a desk where soemone had drawn 3 quite beautiful portraits of pretty girls, one of them looked a lot like bjork, and one looked like an elf queen, and the other one looked a bit like tori amos, but they were really quite elaborately and beautifully done, on a desktop at that. i left my very first Isobel tiggerjammies note on the desk. it says "isobel loves you!!" i've also decided that the special winter dc/belleandsebastian issue of my zine will be subtitled Tiggerjammies. i would almost want to rename it but i've already made up a nice parthenogenesis (PG) logo, and tiggerjammies is well, realy twee. D'OH!!! suffice to say i should be saying tiggerjammies several times a day from now on, or at least thinking about it. when i'm not thinking about the Knees of Sex, that is. Hello listees, The Canadian in me is hoping this doesn't become out of control, which is all too easy with the anonymity of email, and the general anti-Americanism that many countries feel. Canadians are all too easily mistaken for Americans but have the luxury of flashing a maple leaf passport at the world and saying, umm, what exactly were you saying? And growing up on the US/Canadian border definitely teaches you to temper your attitude towards Americans because really, what is the point. So there's McDonald's EVERYWHERE! And they come over to our side to drink our higher alcohol content Canadian beer because our drinking age is lower, and they get loud and obnoxious and over run our city on the weekends... But does it really, really matter? Americans are not different than Canadians who are no different than the British who are no different... We're all people. ian wrote: >pppps. Americans. I saw this commercial on Sunday at my friend's house. It was the best thing I have seen since, well, since that Mr. Microphone commercial. A man pulls up to the light in his red sports car. He MUST be successful to drive such an enormous cock car. There's a lip-glossed hot babe waiting for the light to change so she can scurry along to her job at the local massage parlour. Mr. Suave pulls out what looks like a cigarette, but it's not. It's a white plastic tube. He takes a long drag off of it. Looking at her the whole time. The girl on the corner gives him her best come-hither eyes. Hey, but you know what? It's a pretend cigarette. When you inhale, you get a little bit of nicotine, but no stinky smoke. I guess the message is, if you drive a sports car, and you can longer smoke, best to get some ridiculous looking drinking straws that only slightly resemble the real thing. Or alternatively why not just wear a really awful toupee. The message is the same. Now who said American television is crap? Oh, I kid.
