So Stuart M. is a Lewis fan, huh? Cool. So am I. Even though these are children books somewhat, I thoroughly rank Lewis' Narnia series along with Tolkien, Lord Dunsany, and Mervyn Peake and some of my fave fantasy fiction. In our own musical group The Now, we even named our imaginary percussionist Aslan after a Narnia character for a T.Rex cover we did on the cd compilation "Resurrection Of The Warlock- a tribute to Marc Bolan & T.Rex" in '95. Relating Marc to B&S since they are side by side on the Acid House sdtrk, I caught the Velvet Goldmine flick finally (Miss Heather Propes). Nice Roxy covers. Radiohead's Yorke was tailormade to sing those songs. Great soundtrack but the movie was kinda disappointing. David/Angie Bowie story told with all the mythic lies and some Cobain/Lou Reed/Iggy Pop/Bolanisms/Jagger thrown into the mix. I wish they could have done it a little better as far as character development. When does the Acid House celluloid open? January? I'd probably recommend American Water anyways, though either Starlite Walker or Natural Bridge are quite a good introduction to the band, as well. Oh, and you might want to mention to the writer in your college newspaper that Pavement, if anything, is really the "other band," in a sense...D.C., SM and Bob N started the Joos while still at UVA, according to Berman, I believe, so I guess it's a precursor to Pavement. Hi all... Bit of a short one this as I have to exit the house and drive up to Preston in the next five minutes. I too have read the Narnia Chronicles and dam fine they were. The episode of the Young Ones you've been mentioning was "Flood" and may I be so bold as to suggest a group hug. It's been a bit sad (unhappy sad) in places of the last few days, what with tales of break ups and Martin Horsfields gig going experiences and I thought a list hug might help. Sinister: A heaping helping of the usual

Is it just me, or is the list crush website ripe for abuse? No offense to David or Stu, 'cause the site looks great, and that's a whole lotta work for our little pleasure, and don't think that I don't conjure up every little ounce of appreciation for that site on an hourly basis. But is there anything that stops people from getting their friends to vote a billion times? It's cynicism I guess. I'm just wondering how certain people got ANY crush votes...that's right, I don't love my Sinister cohorts equally. I play favorites. I'm not proud of it, but that's the way it is. BUT...I got nothin' but love for the two people who saved all their list crush kisses for This Guy. I've taken far too long to thank the mysterious two. You're very nice, but trust me: I'm a bastard in real life. Speaking of bastards (meant in the nicest way possible), I had no clue that good ol' loveable Brad was a 411 operator. Aren't you in Atlanta, Brad? Next time I'm down there, I'll call 411 and ask for you. Is there a nickname I should use? Steel? Shaft? Steel Shaft? Oh, a quick note to Heather, Ginger and all other Chapel Hill/Triangle/anyone who's willing to drive Sinister members: I talked to Brian at Two Way Pull records, and he's apparently getting a few copies of the new EP in. From what I understood, he expected them in about a week after the release date (unless I misunderstood and he'll actually have them on Mon!), but if you think you might want one, give him a call and he might be able to get a few more. If that fails, and you don't feel like mail ordering, Schoolkids was good about getting in the other EP's, although I don't know how long it would take them to get it in stock. No wonder I've written in so rarely lately: I don't really have much to say. One question, though, and I'm fully aware that it'll make me look like an idiot: What the hell is all this subbuteo (?) tomfoolery? Like everything else on this list, I'll just assume it's a joke until I get a full explanation. Sinister: rock and roll courses through me like a...a coursing thingy
