On the subject of walkmans: Once I was walking and listening to radioheads "ok computer", and just as gorgeous Thom sang the line "you watch your feet for cracks in the pavement", a person in front of me slipped in a crack in the pavement. It made me smile. I'm smiling all the time nowadays because a band at the record company i work, Poor Rich Ones has been nominated for the counterpart of Brit awards/Grammy here in Norway!! I've already started to make a speech, and I have to buy a new frock......:):):) >What do people think are the worst tunes for getting stuck in your head? Due to the overwhelmingly aristocratically enthusiastic response to my suggestion for a "please the Duke" competition, I feel obliged to start side 2 of Duke's tape all over again. I am determined to receive a Lawrence Bald Patch for my efforts. Come on kids! Get your questions for Mister Murdoch in! I've already sent in a hundred and forty-six today and it's only twenty to five! I don't know, things have certainly gone downhill since Northy sloped off to do his coursework. I was hoping to go and see that film about gigantic space insects this afternoon, but it's a bit late now. Perhaps a typically shambolic visit to the chatroom would be in order. Sinister: How to Endure Mundane Tasks.

Ichy da all, This is my first entry for the sinister page and I thought I'd let you know how I was inspired to Join...... I first heard of B & S through a friend of mine who told that they were the greatest band thing since Tom Jones. I usually find my friends musical opinions to carry much credit but I never really found the time to lilsten to a tape of thiers which he had leant me (obviously this tape was not a copy -I'm far to afriad of going to jail). Time passed and I still hadn't listened to it until one day when it came to be my turn to do the washing up in the house, which I despise doing, I came across the B&S tape which he had leant to me. So I wacked the tape on and got stuck in. From this point on I didn't notice the fetid stench of a 3 day matured curry, nor the bits of moldy food clinging to my skin, instead I sailed away on the beatifull melodies that Belle & Sebastian sent to me. I was alieviated from my suffering and I never wanted to return. I never wanted those dishes to get clean, I just wanted to stay by my sink and daydream forever. This effect also takes hold of me when I'm at work, I can just think of a Belle & Sebastian song in my mind and just drift away..................... Until next time, Huw

And everyone joined in with their own ones (like, the way Stuart Murdoch's voice cracks on the line "She was not impressed" in 'The State I Am In') and it made me all glowy. Perhaps we could do this again. It would also be a good way of drawing in the newer listees. Tell us why Belle & Sebastian are best. And stick on a mini-autobiography if you like, fictional or otherwise. This isn't strictly a Belle & Sebastian moment; it's a Stuart David/Chris Geddes moment. But it made my heart break all the same. So nerrr. It's from the Ink Polaroids book: "Here's Chris outside the studio, on the night we finished the first album. It's quite dark, but you can still see the marks on his face the tears have left from when he was crying inside. I asked him why he'd been crying and he just said, 'Because I've never done anything proper before. Sinister: gigs in Dubin??

It was about half past five and I was absolutely steaming, I spied the most gorgeous guy ever. I went over to ask him for a ciggart..fag, he gave me one and after about ten minutes we were kissing.. Oh he is just so lovely, but he hasn't phoned..... Anyway I was in the best music shop in Dublin yesterday, caled ROAD RECORDS. They had al the records I wanted. Loads of Glaswegian stuff. The woman I spoke to was very into the scene. They even had the record by el hombre trajedo, my mate's band. How cool. Anyway we got around to chatting about B&S and she said sh had been in touch with Jeepster and she seemed to think that the band were playing over here in May. Is this true??
