thanks for the track listing on the new B&S. ok: is jen phillips in town? just because she is so reliable. thank you jen for the CD transaction. =) but now another favour is needed by myself. if your out there jen- i can trust you,but if not i will be willing to take other offers. that sounds dumb. ok here we go. will someone be gracious enough to buy the looper 7 inch for me and sent it to me if i send you money for it? i would be most grateful. and dont tell me- oh you can get it from subpop- because im too much of a fruit to talk to people from subpop. they scare me. and i realise that could be "simpler" but not to me. so would anyone be willing to do this? thank you kindly. cheers; a.james ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . minor mistake in the first message and the obvious repercussions mean that you now get to see a hasty second message to try and clear things up. The Looper 7" is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately it's hard for my lazy American ears to make out a lot of what Stuart is saying. Oh well, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it all clicks. The music on the B side definitely has Murdoch written all over it, while the A side is a bit more on the loopy side and I think mostly S. David's work. well well well. if it ain't the sinister list. how you been good buddy? listen, i'm gonna make this short and sweet. there's this new web-zine that i'm contributing a weekly column for. last week they had a review of "philophobia"....so it's a good one. i'm doing my part in spreading the word. my column is linked on the main page under, you guessed it,...."columns" so help someone out i don't know (but seems alright) and go to his new zine. and for those moose fans out there....as you may or may not know, i have a badly designed web page for them and rumour had it they were no longer. here's what i got in the mail yestiddy from the band: "Hello The band certainly have not split up. In fact they have a new album entitled, 'Twelve New Ways To Fly' due for release Fall 1998. They are negotiating a Stateside release for this & the previously unavailable albums. The UK label Cool Badge Recordings will be releasing Moose material in the UK & teaming up with labels for a worldwide release. Hey kids, addicted to noise has the following in today's issue: "A single from Belle and Sebastian member Stuart David's side project, Looper, will be released on July 7 on the Sub Pop label. The two-song single from the Scottish pop group member will feature the tracks "Impossible Things" and "Spaceboy Dream #3" and incorporate spoken word and homemade beats, the latter featuring fellow B&S members Stuart Murdoch, Karn David and Chris Geddes. Tommy Stinson played bass (I believe) for the Replacements, and last I heard, had his own band called Perfect, and all I've ever heard by them was a cover of Crocodile Rock (really fun listening). His previous band, Bash & Pop, put out a great album called Friday Night Is Killing Me, and it had that one single you might remember called Loose Ends??? (Time to tie your loose ends up (tie 'em up).....)???? Good alcohol rock. This, by the way, ties in with another vein of this mailing list: '80's music.
