Sinister: Warning: Core Meltdown

There's a little chaos here and there on the list at the moment: I had my main server go down at the weekend with memory problems - I came in on Saturday and discovered the poor wee soul had rebooted itself 91 times and was crying out for mummy. Apologies and please bear with me as I am a busy honey. Oh thanks to those who told us about the new B&S track on the radio yesterday. In keeping with my usual behaviour just now, I have it all taped, but unfortunately it seems to have recorded some adverts instead. Anyone what a tape? :) P.S. its getting late and i just woke up. worked all day. tried to sleep the night away but ended up waking for cigarettes and a banana (phallic, maybe, tasty, definitely). i put on the dogs on wheels ep and something came to mind when listening to 'belle and sebastian.' this isn't really a question i guess, just a comment. i was just curious if the line 'you'd better take a weight off of your mind and listen/ to what other people say/ cause things are going wrong your own way' is a reference to crime and punishment. i wouldn't think this at all probably if it wasn't for modern rock song's 'not as sad as dostoevsky...' line... but either way, in c+p one of the characters says something to the same effect (zametov? svidrigailov?) that 'it's better to go wrong in one's own way that to go right in someone else's.' maybe this has been mention before. i don't know. like i said, random b+s bits and pieces. ok, back to smoking. -kelly ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Sinister: impertinence for the most part

I've just gotten back from fire works, which always bewilder me, yet when it comes right down to it I get bored within minutes. I was flipping through me television guide yesterday and I noticed that there was a listing for an Independence Day Concert. This was in fact channel 6's hour and a half of the Glastonbury festival, which I suspiciously decided to watch. Argh, of all the world's (and especially England's) great musical bands, the American broadcasting business chose to show us America's own crappy offerings, such as the Foo Fighters, Matchbox 20, and Dave Matthews Band. It just pisses me off that most of the American public enjoys such awful music and I have to suffer because of it. _Children of Paradise_ is a fine film. You should all see it. In a few days there's going to be a lawn chair drive in of _Grand Illusion_, which I'm excited about because I've always wanted to go to a drive in movie. I think Arab Strap's playing some time soon at the Khyber in Philadelphia, but it's over 21 and sadly I do not fit into that category. Are they worth it though, just out of curiousity? Sinister: london picnic this saturday on primrose hill (11th july)

just a quickie, i got accused of being lazy in not organising another pique-er-nique so soon. so to catch you all a little of balance here are the details of a gathering this weekend. we've returned to primrose hill as that seems to be our spiritual resting place (islington didn't suit us!). we'll meet at the usual spot outside camden town tube station at around 2pm and will then proceed to the hill for the usual myriad of fun and games amidst the mound of food that will be built on someone's coat. the picnic also has a special quality about it - our star footballer's returned (shelley) and it's her birfday on the day before. what to bring? oh, the usual necessities, yourself and some food for the communal buffet, and maybe a friend, a smile and a game of some sort. if we're talking about the same thing like electronic keyboards doing renesance music,then you definently need to get Rick Wakeman-preferably the album "The six wives of Henry 8th" i love it. i bought the record the other day in the bargain bin for (( cents. what a break. he plays all keyboards including moog synth.;harpsichord;electric piano;mellotron and others and its just great. the songs are based on the keyboard versions of what he thinks Henry's wives liked inb music,but it is the best. later. -a.james ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
