Sinister: If you were going to ATP, this may be of interest...

Following the demise of ATP, it's been suggested to me that we have a go at setting up a TIGERMILKING do sometime next weekend. The major problem, unfortunately, is that our local beloved venue is, unsurprisingly, already booked up (Thursday night was free, but that's Betsey Trotwood night - see you all there? - and unless we get a cancellation, that's that, sadly). So, if anyone has any suggestions as to where else we could hold an event (bearing in mind we need to have equipment provided for us), please let me know as soon as you can. Props specially to Claire T, who is almost frighteningly driven in her desire to have a Good Time next weekend. Has a picnic been mentioned? I know it's not long since the last one, but with such a diverse range of people around...and I'll be able to attend this one :-) Even more desirable would be some kind of footie tournament during a picnic. Anyone up for that? And, the best thing is, people who weren't going to ATP can also join in the fun (not that this affects me at all, oh no :-))! Groovy! I wonder if we could get one of the bands who were going to play at ATP to play at whatever shindig we do organise? Anyone know any of the bands and would be able to put in a good word? Please mail me PRIVATELY if you have any thoughts on the whole kaboodle. I definitely don't want to tread on anyone's toes here (Stevie and Claire in particular), but it's time for ACTION, not words. hello folks, so pontins still think it's on do they? as this would appear to be a joint venture i would have thought foundation would have a duty to consult with pontins before pulling the plug on the event. at the very least it would be highly unprofessional of them to allow the news to become public knowledge before pontins had even been informed. when i looked late yesterday ticketweb still seemed to be selling tickets too, have foundation not bothered to tell them either? bunch of cowboys. just a thought, but do we get the whole 105 pounds back, or was part of that a non-refundable ticketweb booking fee? sorry, i shouldn't say things like that, better to wait a couple of days and see what ticketweb say. i think pointing to the absence of a belle and sebastian type band as the reason for poor ticket sales is misguided. all of the bands this time were out and out indie bands with relatively small but very dedicated followings (like belle and sebastian) the real problem lies in having no bands with the wider appeal that was provided by divine comedy and mercury rev at bowlie. and blaming it on camber sands being too remote doesn't really wash either, no one ever felt the need to relocate glastonbury to hyde park did they? at the end of the day the price was at little too high and the bands lacked the commercial appeal to sell tickets to people other than me and you, and the two of us were hardly going to fill the place were we? count me in for anything that happens in place of atp. could we incorporate a demonstration outside foundation's offices into the proceedings? does anyone know where their offices are? is there a pub nearby? paula cullen and her booze explosion said: > i'm afraid i must bid you all adieu. > my bosses are all fascists and have denied me ANY contact with the outside > world. hello sinisterines. it's time again for one of my rare posts about very little. i think i'll give the headers a try. SEEING OTHER PEOPLE if any of you remember me discussing this before, my boyfriend and i have officially broken up now. didn't stop us from having sex last week, though. oh well, i'm back at school 100 miles away from him now, so that should stop that. FRENCH FRIES mcdonald's french fries turn rubbery when they get cold, and it's really unappetizing. but i'm hungry, so i'll eat them anyway. now i'm disgusted with myself. LIST CRUSH i'll admit it, i was one of the bad people that voted more than once. however, that was over the span of several months and never for the same person twice. Now i can't even remember who i voted for. i'm pretty sure list mummy honey was one of them. nobody ever voted for me, though. oh well. i guess i shouldn't complain. it's not like i post a lot. I WISH STUART WOULD TELL ME WHERE THE SUMMER GOES like many of you i've returned to school. this time it's my last year, so i'm excited about that. but i'm living with 7 people that i don't really consider friends, so i've become horribly lonely. Sinister: DAMN THE MAN...

i've just finished a gruelling 17hr shift in the devils playground ( the post office ) to find out that ATP has been cancelled ...this was my light at the end of the tunnel...this is why for the last 3 weeks i've been killing myself doing double shifts to pay for a ticket & beer tokens ...i had a feeling soon after it was announced that something like this would happen... it was too soon after the first Bowlie ... somebody at Foundation got very greedy...& has got his/her fingers burnt. Bowlie sold out in a few weeks...( i wonder why ? duh ) ATP always lacked a BIG name...it was a pretty good line up but it always lacked the show stopper. there was no proper notice board ..., the first Bowlie was so well planned and executed that this always seemed to be a " quick cash in " i saw Bowlie as being an annual event ...that would feature B&S ...to be honest it didn't matter to me what other bands were playing ...the fact the first Bowlie had such a fantastic lineup was a bonus ... the moral of this story is that when certain people think that they can " read the kids " & organise these things when there heart is not in it ...they tend to go pear shaped... and we the fans always tend to suffer... i'm off to sleep now ...sorry if i've ranted ...but i am very annoyed and very tired. richard. ps i had a bad vibes after i saw the poor excuse of a ticket that they issued. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Well here it is. I know where it's at. This is my first post. I'm not going to think about it, cos it will end up being nonsense antway. None of you know me, yet. Although I was at the last Tigeermilking evening, I had black glasses, large sideburns and danced like my dad. Well I have never seen my dad dance, but I imagine he'd dance like that. It's happysad ATP is not on. Mainly because I wasn't going anyway. I live in London, and may go to ATPiss up instead, but I'm a little frightened of you all. Persuade me that everything is alright forever. I prefer older socks, because you can trust them and my first gig was Lush. Did anyone see Sparklehorse at the Garage? Were they good?
