Greetings, Saw on the frankly unreadable new NME website that those gobshites BLUR have made their new tune avail. as a mobile ringtone. Anyone if B&S tunes are available out there as ringtones?? I remember a post about programming PalmPilots with B&S tunes, but for a mobile it'd be wicked! Just think, you could be in a liitle caff somewhere and your phone could go off with, say, 'seeing other people' (bleepy, could work) and a fellow B&S fan could pop up, summoned by the sound and change your life forever! Or something. Anyway, if anyone has info, or indeed the tech/musical know-how to pull this off please let me know. Some one dissed the movie 'WONDERLAND', are you fucking crazy or what, the film is totally amazing and desperatley sad, very 'Sinister'. It leads you down a miserable path for so long that the merest nugget of sunlight at the end leaves you with hope for all humanity. Another sini-flick is 'RATCATCHER'. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It is one of the most moving, haunting films (fillums for you renard) I have ever seen. And its got Nick Drake on the soundtrack. And Eddy Cochrane. And its the closest you'll ever get to life for a Glaswegian child in the 1970's. It opens in N.America this month I think. How good is "Sweetheart of the Rodeo"? I'm slowly being swallowed up by my non-existant Southern roots. You don't believe me? Ask Ms. Lauren Tigerxdare who told me I had a southern accent when we watched the Flaming Lips in Philly awhile back. Some of my friends say I've started speaking with a slight twang, I say "aw shucks" entirely too much and I drink cheap beer. I haven't bought a shotgun or started dipping yet, but I suppose anythings possible... B&S have a Christmas song? Has there been any word on the next single that Stuart mentioned shortly after FISHYCLAP's release? I hope it has Lord Anthony, but then again, so does everyone. I drove 25 minutes to school today only to find out my first class would be over in 15 minutes and my second one was canceled. This is beyond lame. I'm running on 5 hrs sleep for 15 minutes of schooling. I'm writing from the cpu lab (as alot of people seem to be doing these days) and its a new experience. A girl sitting next to me seems to be annoyed at my constant typing, because for some reason, she's reading a book and talking on her cell phone. Surely she must realize where the hell she is. Maybe she doesn't... I had forgotten what girls do to me until I became infatuated with a friend of a friend recently. I haven't slept in days and I don't eat. I buy nice clothes and wear cologne. I play Pet Sounds whenever we're driving somewhere in the hopes that it will work subliminally. I listen to Simon and Garfunkel. Whenever I go anywhere without her I get sad and drunk. I love it. George Dickie signed my band's guestbook. He wants to rejoin Sinister very soon. I never realized he officially left, but I miss his posts. The new Ryan Adams record (ex-Whiskeytown) is really fucking amazing, and the first track is an argument between he and some other guy concerning Morriseey. I think Adams really likes him, but that may be the other guy. Regardless, the album is just beautiful, and the new Superdrag album is amazing too. Every key on this keyboard is black and flithy except the "backspace" key. Make of it what you will.. Helloooooo popkids. i was tempted to send in another missive today with the sole intention of plonking myself firmly in Digest No.300 (yay!), but realised that would be a bit tragic. So, i have a very specific reason for posting. Oh yes. Very specific. Ummmmm...... Hold on. Something will come to me in a minute. (sigh) AHHHHHAAAA!!! Yes, this christmas carol malarkey - wot a pile of toss. Which one are they doing again? Something with 'Come' in the title wasn't it? Dearie dearie me. Should have done Silent Night in honour of their touring schedule. Well, either way, I'm disappointed. you're an intermittently wonderful songwriter Stu m'lad so there's no need to cover some mad Christian propaganda song. I think it's duty to step into his velvet slippers and come up with a sinister carol( i knew a sinister carol once, i think she's a hairdresser now). Base it on the true spirit of Xmas, i.e. drinking, eating, partying, inappropriate fumblings and Jimmy Stewart. And let's keep it vaguely content based so we don't get a Millbankian slap on our collective limp wrist. So, if you're up to the challenge submit a verse or two, and try to fit it to the tune of a well known, extant carol. That way we can force Carsmiles to sing it and he won't be able to excuse himself for not knowing the tune. In other other news, anyone heard the Brave Captain album yet? I mustmustmust buy it tomorrow, mmmmmmmmmmmm, Carr. I think they/he are/is playing the Garage soon, should be fun. I have been reading "Young and Foolish" by a duke (formerly?) of this parish and would heartily recommend it to any listee, especially the bit at the back with a selection of the duke's posts to the list, which made me want to go and read the ENTIRE archive from the very beginning. hi all! I don't like new look NME web. I can't find a decent chatsite that is firewall friendly. This is very very crap. How am I supposed to sit for hours and watch my pals have cheesy cyber porn sex? I mean, despite what boyfriend said, here are my rants. Look, ICQ, and IRC and all those gubbins. They require things to be downloaded. And with the increase of firewalls, folk at work and uni can't use them. And they are the people with the best access, as its free(ish). Whereas gubbins like boyfriend, who have their home PC and can do a hundred and ten things [stop gloating Mark;)] have access, but with the demise of free connection and stuff, will think twice about doing it. Unless they can afford it, in anycase, I don't want to know. I'm skint. Keep your wads of wavering cash to yourself. I have a tenner right now to my name, and I'm not happy. So why not have a firewall friendly chat? You know the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyway, I need my fix. And all I hear is boyfriend telling me what my pals are up to on chat. I miss them, and its not fair. We don't have anywhere to go now, and all those who have been exiled are now lost, wandering in cyber space, occasionally graffitting a forum here or there, to let the other wanderers see that we too, are there, somewhere. Greetings, I was trying to reconcile actually posting with the fact that I have nothing to post. Nothing, that is, of interest. I had what I thought was something of a sinister story, but then I realized how wrong I was. You see, I WAS TEASED TODAY IN SCHOOL! No, no, this isn't grade four, IT'S FRIGGIN' UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, this bastardy kid in my history tutorial accused me of "sucking up to my t.a." when I commented on his Sheaffer Big Red pen - something I have never seen in person. We're talking old skool pen here folks. It was all I could do to not kick him in the teeth. He's one of those horribly annoying boys who are obsessed with history. He's one of those people who says things like, "Well, they didn't mention Kepler in the reading but of course I'm familiar with him anyway." I swear to God he thinks he is the reincarnation of Napolean. I have this burning desire to whisper ELBA in a very diabolical way whenever he passes. He is, decidedly, a bastard. The nerve of him to accuse ME of sucking up! I JUST HAPPEN TO LIKE PENS, ALRIGHT? I immediately thought of all things sinister at this episode, assuming there might be other stylophiles lurking who could appreciate my claim. (Stylophiles? What on earth...?) Of course, you're all probably computery and junk and would probably laugh at my otherwise unhealthy obsession with ink. None of my friends will ever write me with actual physical materials, only this email garbage. SIGH. What can you do? If YOU like writing in ink, let me know. Perhaps I can arrange to send you a missive and support my local bureau de poste. Ahem...sorry about the complaining. Apologies also for the serialkiller-esque use of capitals. I was on a roll. Hey the goods, the bads and the uglys I ve just got a Columbia Record Player from APC. I bought the Matador edition of TBWTAS LP. But it skips. Skip during my fave fade out of the song "TBWTAS". And Legal man 7" sounds nice. I put the Wild Bunch ep on it and the ep is 33 1/3 rpm... awkward.... I ll tell u guys a very excited and great news later! And, Hefner's "We Love the City" is great. mine is enhanced CD and With a live ep. Nice Nice. "You Love to be in Love, But You never really Love" I bought another Galaxie 500 album "This is Our Music" I ve got the Live album and "On Fire". I am looking for today. BTW, I am in Hong Kong Anyone like Royal Trux? I ve just got their "singles, unreleased and live" I will get more RT stuff. does Anyone watched "In the Mood for Love"?It is really differ from other Wong's movie. with nice soundtrack.
