Hello everybody, I'm going to be bossy again. The plan for the next London picnic is as follows: Saturday 30th June, 2pm, Greenwich. It'll be a belated birthday celebration for Martin, so it's allowed to be in Greenwich. Presumably lots of you will be in London then because of the B&S gig on 29th. The sensible ones among you should also be hanging around to see camera Obscura on the Saturday night, so this is a perfect way to fill the gap in between. I don't think it matters that some poeple are planning a picnic on 29th seeing as most of us have to work for a living ;-) I am happy to be picnic mum for this one if needs be. I suppose that means I'll have to post some helpful information nearer the time. I think this is all you need to know for now though. The hilarious Peter Carter had me laughing for days, 'Shitsailor' Huh huh huh... Where did you pull that one from??? What is all this 'Mediocrity=Popularity' bollocks ? How can that possibly work, its a right waste of time even contemplating it. So im gonna stop. Oh wait... what about the Beatles, were they ever popular??? Starsailor aren't gonna be as good as the Verve or Oasis, but CHRIST if they atleast start to sell more records than the Stereophonics/MSP/Toploader et all, then it has to be a good thing. To label Starsailor mediocre is unfair and... well a bit lazy really. If Starsailor start getting records to number one it will be the best thing for music in quite a while. There a great band for the people who want a break from listening to Plaid or Autechre all the time. People like me, they keep things in perspective. Yay! thats enough of that then. Just got the limited edition single from the Music, *mumblessomethingaboutifthatsfuckingmediocrethengrumblegrumble* Guitars are back!!! Haven't you heard! Its really good anyway. Got the last two tickets to see them in Leeds playing a special gig, should be fun. Really looking foward to Scarborough, its one of the nicest sea-side towns that i have been to (Well, the nice parts) Haven't heard Jonathan, or David for that matter so that is gonna be a treat for next week hopefully. I have just realized why i dont post much, cos it's usually ends up like above. A bit of a mess. Like me really. The parade in Liverpool was lovely, just incase anyone cared. The best feeling is coming back from the brink of breaking down, cos its when you remember that we do live in a beautiful world. 'Innovations occur at the boundaries, but im stuck in the city centre' I just came up with that and you know what im rather quite proud of it. Ever feel that someone has fucked you up the arse without using any lubricants? Yes. Normally I'm not into this "blah blah My name's Elizabeth/My life is shit and piss blah blah", but let me introduce you to my past week. Ladies and gentlemen... 1) Went to a doctor. He gave me pills for my stomach. Stress-releted, he said. I knew it. Two weeks of medication. 2) Called this school. Didn't get in. I've been sweating in this shithole I call "office" for 3 fucking years now. After I finished high school, I've only been working in these shitplaces, getting salary that is next to nothing. Five years ago I dispised all those people who worked in an office and didn't get anywhere with their lives. Now I'm one of those people. 3) Fast forward two days. Got dumbed by my girlfriend. Textmessage. Beeb beeb said my cellphone. "You're right, I don't want to be with you anymore." One year, three months. You see that toilet? You see the times we've spent? Now watch: Swoooosh! Knock knock? Who's there? Depression. Depression who? Your life. Fuck off. 4) Went to a party on friday to get drunk and sober my thoughts (you know how it works, don't you?). Went for a smoke. Two people were lying in the staircase, the other one bleeding like hell. I ran upstairs, where this girl was trying to call the ambulance. I ran and ran and ran through the street, trying to find some sign where I could see which street we were on. Found it. The ambulance came. Only then I realized that the guy bleeding was this friend of a friend. The other one lying there motionless on the staircase was his brother. The next day I heard the brother was in the hospital and something was wrong with his neck. This is the final day: Today they are going to decide if he's going to live or not. 5) Heard my girlfriend spent her saturday (including the night) with this guy I never really rated but now just _utterly_ dispise. The arsefucker I mentioned you before, remember? Him. This is an oldie, but: Have you ever felt that you really, really _hate_ someone? Multiply it by five, and you might understand how I feel. No I'm not going to any concerts unless Youn gets that grant sorted out for me. I'd like to go, but I've got a serious heroin habit to fund and I don't like to stray to far from my "pharmacist" either. The forthcoming nationwide tour by chart toppers Belle and Sebastian would be an ideal oppurtunity to shift some units of the long-awaited new edition of Papercuts. And there's no need to restrict sales to inside the concert venues, sellers could go round local pubs as well, such as The Saracen's Head opposite Barrowlands. Nice to see John Prescott sticking up for us fox lovers. Apparently his wife once rescued a baby fox cub from some fox hunters and trained it to help her in the kitchen - it uses its tail as a whisk! She lets the children lick it clean when it's finished, I believe. Sinister: yet another very dull first post

Hi, I have just been given a 'voice', so I thought I would use it so at least say Hi. I'm Gary, 26 (am I older than all of you lot??) and from Bedford, England. I only heard my first B & S song over Christmas (Modern Rock Song) and have since become totally hooked, have bought the whole back catalogue and can't wait for June 29th and the Albert Hall gig. Incidentally, I've been trying to convert my friends to B & S, with no luck- whats wrong with them?- so if anyone has any good ideas for which songs work best at converting new fans I'd be v interested to hear. Am very excited today because the new Tindersticks album is out! Hopefully it will be as good as Simple Pleasure. There seems to be quite a few Tindersticks fans on here and it seems that appropriately we have a nice sunny day to greet their new album! Anyway, can someone give me a bit more info on the picnic before the Albert Hall gig, cos I guess that would be a good opportunity to meet you all.
