There's been some Air stuff out for a while, for people interested,
"Modulor" was released as a single on Mo' Wax about a year ago (although it
appears, at least as far as I could see, only to be on 12"), and it's
completely brilliant. If you have trouble finding it on 12", it's on the
first of the two Headz 2 compilations as well. I'm told there was another
single after this too, but I'm fucked if I heard anything about it.
Keith.

Hiya,
My post earlier about Air wasn't exactly B&S content so I'll make up
with this one.
Whilst I was at the concerts in Manchester I took one or two pics, and
I've stuck them together for a web-site. Stuart Gardiner gave me his
pics so I've put both his and my own on-line.
The URL is:
http://www.scs.leeds.ac.uk/paulf/home/pleasure/creations/photos/bs97/
The site is really a personal account of my weekend, as other B&S sites
do more than enough justice to the band!
Some of the pages are quite intensive for loading so beware. Many of the
pictures are thumbnails, meaning that by clicking on them you see the
full size pic.
If you have any problems please email me. If the page looks all bizarre
check that you screen can handle 16-bit colours - on 8-bit (256 colours)
it does look odd.
Enjoy!
Paul

I fear I might be that fan in york (although I'd love to hear that there is someone else in York that owns a copy of tigermilk...)
Me & my Girlfriend have a vinyl copy each (I apologise for repeating this fact, as I know it can be a sore point being so smug...) and all the 12" and 7" since then, but no copies of any radio sessions. Anyone out there like to do a tape swap? (although I imagine everyone that copies radio programmes is enough of a fan to have a copy of tigermilk already...)
I know there are other B&S fans in York, but only 'cos I've seen their names on the list (I've only been in York a year, after living in glasgow and Brighton), but Northy, if you're in town, I work as Production Manager in a photography gallery called Impressions. It has an ace bookshop, cafe and internet bit, so pop in and ask for matt locke (I'm in all week, and very occassionally at weekends, although I try not to be...)
BTW, I've just got a new job, as Artistic Director of a new Digital Gallery and Production Facility opening in Huddersfield (i only heard on Saturday, so I'm preeetty stoked !) so I'll be moving, probably to leeds, in summer (and therefore to a new e-mail address). So if you're coming northy, make it soon!!!

It only took me about 3 mins cause we have an ISDN or some shit. I'll try
it when I get home, cause I'm still using win3.1 at work. Any chance of a
16-bit version, chris?

I've got a couple of friends in Tunic, as they used to go to Edinburgh Uni
(at least two of them anyway). Strange you should say that, but David Gedge
loves them, so he may be there. I'm not particularly convinved though,
they're really contrived - apart from a couple of songs Tanya's written
(Also Ran, and Get in Lane), that's not to say that you won't like them,
just that they're not really my cup of tea really... And believe it or not,
it was them I went with the first time I saw Belle and Sebastian, so...
PRAISE THE LORD! There's a CONNECTION!
Cheers,
Keith.

I actually thought they were OK, at the start it was ambient sounding, in a
kind of a way like stuff from Eno's "Music for Films". They suddenly become
dead beaty though (at exactly the point Chris tells me that the last time
he's seen them they were "more beaty"), and the comparisons I could think of
were still Eno, and even Roxy, kind of just cause there was a saxaphone
going off all the time.
These were as close a comparison as I could come to, but I certainly didn't
think they were shit.
Also... I lived in Falkirk for years, and I'm not very hard, indeed I
wouldn't say it's a particularly "hard" place, strange the reputation places
get!
Cheers,
Keith.

Hiya,
I'm a bit puzzled about Air as on Saturday I finally realised the song
I liked on the radio was from Air: 2+2 = *click*. So I went along to
Polar Bear in Leeds and bought the album, so I guess it must have been
out last week, in the UK at least.
And what an album it is. Utterly gorgeous. Buy it! My album of the year
so far. Until the next B&S I'm sure!
Paul

So sorry,I replied to this post..but then it got lost...and ummmm,but it's
back again!

Well,I think it's secret....it's not listed as a track....but if you leave
The Sun Is Often Out (little cutie fact here: Simon Stafford picked that
title!) a song that is at very veyr low volume will come on...and it's
kinda like a lovely lullaby with Crispin Hunt singing and watching you as
you sleep singing 'but one of these days, you're sure to be gone..so I'll
have to carry on without you' Ohh! *sniff sniff* lil' baby doll!
Anyways...it's good enough to be put on the album as a real track...but
Crispin said he liekd the idead oh somone fallng asleep to this....1...2...3
(all together..DEEP siiiigh)
I don't think Stuart Evans is married...oh dear,I hope not...but *cough
cough* SOMEONE else is.....

this is so strange....Anne I want to thank you...it was by ordering your
first issue of Creme Anglaise zine that I saw Jack (who I never saw before!)
and went out and bought Pioneer Soundtracks..a similar thing happened with
my friend Layla..she got the issue with Linoleum on the cover, then decided
to get the album as well....hmmmmm!
meow!
xoxo Genevieve...

Can anyone explain what that means? Exciting eggs - you really don't
want to know what that suggests to me.

Did they do that 'don't have sex with your ex' thing? I like records
with good advice. Not as good as 'Lick it' by 20 Fingers (featuring
Gillette). They of 'Short Dick Man' fame ... 'You gotta lick
it/Before you kick it'. Her parents must be so proud of her.

Apparently some Australian tourist book describes Manchester as the
home of the thriving Northern Soul scene epitomised by 'such bands as
Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses'.

Look, David's just subtly pointed out that he got the LP before the
rest of us. Well done.
>A mullet is called hockey-hairdo in swedish, if anyone's interested.
Corduroys are called 'Manchesters' in Sweden. And perhaps someone
could explain why I kept seeing the word 'Skrotum' at Swedish railway
stations.

Allegedly, I look like Francis Lee. Or the drummer from Kenickie.

Cracker is dead, and I'll thank you not to mention it again. Jimmy
was very upset.
Peter Miller I imagine to look like Peter Stringfellow, with a tan
that quite clearly came from a bottle, and more neckware than Mr. T
over a shagpile chest wig.
Northy I imagine looks like some sort of Greek God or something.
And Genevieve, lovely lovely Genevieve, I imagine making me crepes in
our little Swedish log cabin and looking like Francoise Hardy, while I
pickle herrings for us tea.
Oooops.
