Hi everyone, it's update time!
Ok, just spoken to Barry, and everyone who ordered tickets from the
fanclub, should either have them, or they're in the post. If you have
any worries that you haven't yet got your tickets from FOUNDATION ONLY,
please phone me at Jeepster on 0181 964 9432, and i'll try to track them
down. Please don't e-mail, as it just makes it too complex. Call
between 10am and 6pm weekdays. There are still tickets lefty for sale
at Piccadilly Records in Manchester, they are taking chq and some credit
card orders, so phone Laura on 0161 839 8008. If you are worried about
your tickets that were purchased anywhere other than Foundation, please
contact them directly, as i can't do anything about the other outlets.
Also, Barry has asked me to get in contact with PHIL GORMAN and
CHRISTOPHER ORAM. If anyway knows these people, please get them to
phone me at Jeepster, as Christopher didn't give his address and Phil
didn't say how many tickets he wants and for what nights.
Thanks to Andy Dean for organising the list of people who want to
meet-up. We're still trying to organise the meet-up, again details
available after the 15th by phoning David and I at home (0181 560 1815).
And Tag & Julian the Smile DJ & I are trying to organise a club
night/aftershow thingy as well, so more details regarding that when it's
finalised.
That's all i know ..
Cheers,
Katrina.

Unrelated questions:
Has anyone actually seen a pop concert ('gig' still makes me feel kind of
queasy - not sure why. Mind you 'pop' is getting that way too - always seems
to be used to make a point these days. Ooops - digression!) at the Manchester
Town Hall? I seem to remember someone saying that Stuart Murdoch just picked
it as a venue because he like the look of it or something. When I lived in
Manchester I only really thought of it as the place that the daft inflatable
Santa was mounted. Don't remember any bands playing there. What's it like as
a venue?
"A hand over my mouth / A hand over the window" Just listening to this last
night and wondering what other people think it might be referring to. Don't
worry all you analysisophobes - I'm quite happy for it to stay a lovely
ambiguous line without particular meaning, but I just thought maybe I was
missing something obvious. Is it all the other boys turning from queuing to
marauding, perhaps?

Hi,
I remember a wee while ago someone mentioning the
Leeds gig for Arab Strap. Is anyone from this list going
to it this Friday?

but certainly snow. It's 3:30AM here and for some reason I am still awake,
working on sundry papers and listening to Dog on Wheels and 3, 6, 9...
alternately in my CD-ROM drive, with headphones on, and it's snowing
outside, drifting in front of streetlights, coating the cars and the
sidewalks in a soft blanket...
soft blanket. I could use that about now.
to anyone who hasn't already: download IRC software so you can participate
in the upcoming band chat! the chats that have been going on as sort of
test runs, I guess, have been infinitely amusing. And FYI, Macintosh users:
the best software that I have found is ChatNet, even though it's only the
demo version and will automatically log you off every 20 minutes. That or
MacIRC, which is a little less user-friendly but still better than
GlobalChat. As David informed me, you can access all these programs at
ftp://ftp.undernet.org/pub/irc/clients and pick your very favorite one.
I'm pretty familiar with all the Mac stuff at this point, so if anyone's
got any queries about that feel free to drop me an email.
Well. Work, then slumber for me.
If only there were a fox to go with my snow...

I always thought the into sounded like the Peanuts theme....I've always
called Christopher "Schroeder" because of it....I don't think he got it
tho....He was always sort of confused about why I was calling him
"Schroeder"! Guess it's an American thing...Mainly.

Well I am utterly, utterly stunned.
I have just come back from the Astoria in London to see the Lightning
Seeds live.
They were absolutely, truly, phenomenaly brilliant.
I was expecting M.O.R. radio friendly pap.
But instead I got a display that quite frankly 'rocked' like nothing
has ever 'rocked' before
I have seen Radiohead twice and Catatonia. Whilst all good gigs this
beat them all.
I'll see you all in London when B&S play there next year
Oh yes I will be there

What ?
Do you like Tom Jobim ?
Hmmm...Belle & Sebastian could cover a Bossa nova song ,but in PORTUGUESE.
Everything but the Girl did that drum'n'bass cover..and...i liked it.
but don't tell anyone i like it....
Everything but the Girl is boring....i prefer the "second sinister-list band"
i mean, Erasure :o)
(No i don't !!!!!!!!! Depeche Mode *WAS* better)
*Dog on wheels* has a Spanish "feeling" or am i mad ?
A B&S song with a Brazilian "feeling" could be nice.
(Don't forget Stereolab,Pram,Siesta Records Bands...and some many others)
French music and Bossa Nova are so LOVELY !
(Brigit Bardot and Tom Jobim are so COOL, Don't you think so ?)
Someone told me that Brett Anderson loves a Brazilian singer called Marisa
Monte (He has a Brazilian friend living in London,i think...)
God ! I like Suede....
but Brett has a bad taste for music.
I mean, Marisa Monte,Raissa,Strangelove.....
I hope he does not like Belle & Sebastian ! :o)
