Yes! WHy cannot some of these boys just admit thnigs! And why do they love
lesbians so much? It confuses! They beg me to kiss another girl while they
watch or to do catfight! Why? If you ask them to do the same with another
guy they scream in fear, then they tell me I 'don't understand'.What is there
to understand! They make no sense!
Anyways,oh I'm so envious of you attending shows! Have Belle and Sebastian
ever played North America? I will wish and wish and wish that they will come
here and perhaps it will become true then.
And on bloke depression, that is sweet the boy who said what about girl
depression! That you take solace in Belle and Sebastian....if only I had a
bloke who loved Belle and Sebastian to BE depressed about.Beautiful
blue-eyed boy working at record store doesn't count either...(such a dream
fro me! *sniff sniff** Besides,he scare me veyr much today,my ears are used
to going in and hearing lovely music, today I went in to hear the sounds of a
million dying cats,it made me laugh! (But I didn't want to offend so I tried
to cover my smile, that is hard is't it..trying not to laugh)
That's all I suppose, since I am so so so faw away from ever seeing any of
these gigs, you lovely people will opst about the experience, please?
Thankyou!
Love,love
Genevieve :)

Cheers for the mail out David and Katrina.
However, Sarah's contribution has now really put me off writing to the band, as
from the sounds of it they all sit round and take the piss out of everyone's
letters !!!!
Is it only me who thinks that Stuart Murdoch is singing Le Pastie de La
Borgeoisie in the 'club style'. Overseas readers you won't get that one, so
don't worry.
Lastly. Is Stuart Murdoch gay? Just being curious thats all, nothing funny, but
is he?

Pretty amusing, several Glaswegians on this list and the only directions are
given by foreigners ... since the 13th Note still seems to enjoy its former
location, here is some more information ...
Mike already mentioned _Glassford_ Street, should be number 80 (corner pub,
side street is named Garth Street, as far as I remember). Travelling by bus
to demonstrate your genuine enthusiasm, you should get off at Buchanan Bus
Station and spend a few quids on the cab (alternatively, purchase a
streetfinder or meet up with a volunteering Glaswegian listee, only ten
minutes walk). Travelling by train you should get off at either Central
Station or Queen Station (ten and five minutes walk respectively).
Travelling by car, you should leave the M8 for the Royal Infirmary heading
towards the centre, drive along Castle Street followed by High Street, cross
George Street / Duke Street, leave the third street on your right named
Ingram Street (nah ... not Geoffrey Ingram) and the fifth on the left will
be Glassford Street, the 13th Note is located at the first corner to your
left hand. Generally speaking, the 13th Note is near the well known George
Square, the University of Strathclyde is pretty close as well, but the big
park Mike was writing about would be the more distant Glasgow Green ...
unless you've crossed the Necropolis that night, an ancient cemetary. §:^D
Besides, make sure to organize some tickets immediately, since the 13th Note
is a pretty tiny club ...
"The church up on the hill is looking lovely"
"But it doesn't interest, the only things she wants to know is"
"How and why and when and where to go"

Really bad news people!!! Ok, maybe good news for you but bad for me! I
can only come to the one gig on the Sat. (weep, weep) Are we still going
to try and meet up on the Sat before the gig??? Please!! I'll be really
upset if everyone meets up the day I'mnot there!!!
Misheard lyrics, OK then. I always thought the Stars of track and Field
1st line went 'making you cold turkey day to suit your affairs'. And did
I feel a donut when I heard the real words. durr.
But thats the only one I've not got. You think Stuart Murdochs voice is
hard to understand, have you ever tried to transcribe any Manics songs?
JDB has a beautiful voice, he just don't annunciate proper like wot we
do!
And to whoever wrote about being scared to write to B&S-they don't reply
to fanzine questionnaires at any rate. Arse. i shall try again.
And I call that evening session guy 'Steve La Twat'.
Ooh, the wittiness of me. nahahaha. He just annoys me.
Oh, and I love the cookies and cream haagen daaz.
so long, farewell, aufwierdersehn goodbye--

Magnetic Fields are one of NYC's best bands. Stephen is the key songwriter
but Claudia is a very fixed and essential member of the band as well. An
album they
did that many are familiar with is the 6th record on London. It was MF songs
with
guest singers (Amelia Heavenly, Dean Luna, Barbara Manning, Chris Knox, etc)
and
it's really great, though Stephen's voice is always better than any guest
vocalist.
He also records under the name Future Bible Heroes (an 8tees synth-pop thing
like Anything Box). Merge puts out the MF records in the States. . .don't
know about the UK. B&S fans might really like him cause he has clever,
witty, ambiguous, foxy lyrics.
He's a bit of a downer at times though ("all the umbrellas in london couldn't
stop this rain, all the dope in new york couldn't stop this pain, all the
money in tokyo couldn't make me stay, all the umbrellas in london couldn't
stop this rain . . ."). (sigh)

Well, I heard (in some review or other) that they were sort of like the
"world famous" White Town(showing my age?Nev-ah!)

P.S. I'm new to this list, and when I looked at my in-tray this morning,
suddenly there were 60 messages here. F**king hell!!!(staggers away

We were told it's moving "down by the water," to a bigger and bolder venue
sometime in the first half of '98.
