A question: Is "Popcorn" by Hot Butter the music that they used to use for trampolining programmes on the telly? I trust that one of our older viewers will know what the bloody hell I'm on about. [Keith Watson] I couldn't say for sure, it's a top tune though, they used to use it on top of the BBC test card when I was young... On the same lines though - last week I was watching the Ryder cup and thinking how old the golfing theme tune was, I then started wondering just how old it was and how it's quite cute how the Beeb never gets any new tunes which identifies programs pretty well. However it suddenly struck me that there's the stonking double bass drum thing going on in the background and I realised it's an "I'm the leader of the gang" Gary Glitter thing - cool period drums, listen and have a laugh the next time you see the golf on the telly. Sinister: Hearing other music

Hi, Recently there has been a lot of talk about the other bands people listen to, apart from B&S. Much as I would like to hear all of these bands it would be very hard for me to find all the music talked about, to spend the time and even harder to listen to all the albums, singles, sessions... except if you are John Peel of course! A few messages ago a lady talked about electronic samples that were emailed to her. I am wondering whether these were samples of the bands that are being talked about, as I think this is a brilliant way of letting each other listen to the music they like. Rather than going out to shops and scouring for the album, buying it, and listening to it 10 times before liking it, hearing a sample of a brill song is a great way of introducing the band to a newbie. If the samples talked about before were like this then I would love to hear some (or a lot!). hey. i deleted the message i'm responding to before i had a chance to hit the "re:" button. to that guy who said something about judy blume in his review of "pastie de whatever".... judy blume is some writer who's written some books that are quite popular amongst pre teen girls here in the states. i remember one is called "are you there god, it's me margaret" and i think she also wrote "tales of a fourth grade nothing" and "superfudge" (i got read that book every year from kindergarten to fourth grade by my various teachers) i wouldn't say she's a high literary figure so if she gets mentioned in the song, it's probably in jest. -brad ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Sinister: Famous Stuff..Football and other useless Rubbish

Errm well I suppose I'd better carry on what has been started I'm 20 ,an electronics student at Manchester Uni. I once met Ed from the Chemical Bros (whose parents bought my housemates parents' house) at Sankeys Soap where he introduced me to Sean Moore from the Manics we chatted and apparently Mark Morrison is a bit of a tosser (as you all needed to be told!) and very short indeed (but then so is Sean) as they had been on TOTP together the week before. I have also heard of Whiteout (saw them co-headline with Oasis many moons ago) in Royal Tunbridge Wells. I don't have Tigermilk but have recently heard it (thanx Ben) Oh and I support Gillingham F.C. I am often described as a frail and sickly child (but I don't have a cold atm :) The Spod Oh and when I was three my mother and I bumped into maggie thatcher in a local shop, she patted me on the head and said how well behaved I was?? (does this count???) PS I think I will have space in my house at B&S gig time (if ppl don't mind floors). Will everyone be meeting up before the gig??
