man. havent slept in like two days. both days i had that jeremy enigk song "return of the frog queen" stuck in my head. maybe thats why. drums and tuba. now theres a band. box fetish is probably one of my favorite albums. any way. i heard radiohead is releasing a second album some time this coming year. from what i read so far. it seems it is going to be a more tradtional album. so everyone that hated kid a will get what they were waiting for. not to say its a bad thing. shit. i love kid a. i also heard that they have a video for "national anthem" kinda strange considering "optimistic" is the song with the most radio play. but. its all hear say. so. off to the moon kids! as i hop on my magical flying scooter pulling goggles over my eyes. and throwing a scarf around my face(to keep the chill of my neck and face.) later +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org. Sinister: $40 down the drain

Uh, hi, I don't really ever post here, as I don't usually think I have all that much to say. But today is a different day. Have you ever felt totally ripped off? I think I was ripped off last night. And yes there is a tad bit of B&S in here. A tad. Last night I went to the John Anson Ford Ampitheatre in Universal City (right next to Los Angeles) to see Modest Mouse. Mind you, I live in Huntington Beach which is an almost TWO HOUR drive when you decide to leave your house at 6pm on a week night and drive up to LA. Almost TWO HOURS in traffic all the way up the 110 Fwy to the equally, if not more, congested 101 Hollywood Freeway. So, we get there and there's this opening band on -- he, terrible voice; she -- beautiful angelic voice. I wish I could remember the band's name. Anyway, my boyfriend says they sound like Belle and Sebastian. I say, "in reverse". There. There's your tad bit of B&S. ANYWAY -- the two opening bands play for about and hour, combined. Then Modest Mouse comes on. They play for 45 MINUTES!!!!! That's it. FORTY FIVE FARGING MINUTES!!! We spent THREE TIMES as long ON THE FARGING FREEWAY than we did listening to Modest Mouse! Isaac Brock (singer) apologized for the short set and said to save our tickets, they might have a free show sometime to make up for this. He kept saying, "Welcome to Modest Mouse Prison Camp". Evidentally, the JAF Theater is a complete joke. Grrrr, I'm still so terribly irritated. The worst of it is, Travis was playing right near by at the Universal Ampitheater (which, by the way, isn't an ampitheater anymore). I could have seen them instead. On another Radiohead note -- they sold out the Greek Theater here in LA in just a few short minutes. Their only US date, so they say. Now the Greek, that's an ampitheater. I wish someone would get their *h** together around here when they start naming venues. Is it an ampitheater OR NOT?!?!? We've been standing here a good while. Mooro finally got the chance to talk about aeroplanes. Three years on this list, biting his nails, twiddling his thumbs, waiting for the (Dutch) klaxon to sound and the all-clear not to be given. That moment when (moustachioed) men would don leathers and run for the airfield, ready to become men, or die in the attempt. The moment came as the word 'Messershmitt', or however you spell it, came overhead. For a while the skies were dark with references. Syllables crashed around us. Yet when the flak had cleared, there in a jacket, taking some flak for it, was Mooro. He had seized his chance at last. He was proud. But one thing's for sure - someone, somewhere [in summertime] is keeping it ReaL. By the way, Reynolds and Press (The Sex Revolts, 1995) have this to say about Thin Lizzy: The Irish hard rockers presented a more or less identical [to the Clash] mix of renegade mythos and mid-70s fear of totalitarianism, except that they wrapped it up in science-fiction imagery and laid it on top of a marginally more traditional sound (Hendrix-tinged raunch'n'roll) than the Clash's garageland stomp. 'Jailbreak' was a sort of concept album, set in a computer-controlled dystopian future, about a revolt against the evil Overmaster. The sleevenotes describe a band of prisoners (ie Thin Lizzy) who start off a jail riot and escape. Reading this book, I start to wonder whether those of us who have so vociferously backed Reynolds in the past ought to think about some retractions. Bad hair day. Woke up yesterday, resembling a Bay City Roller. Dyed my hair. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RED. its NOT. its black. Woke up this morning, resembling Sid Vicious. Hair up on end. Managed to calm it down a bit. Have to grow it, I think. Only had it cut a few weeks ago, and after the first day, I cannot style it. Bluddy hair. Still, I seem to be advancing, day by day through the seventies. As long as I don't end up in the eighties with my hair resembling 'chele from Eastenders. *Shudders* Trying to get my chat room to work. Nobody seems to have a positive word about it, except me. I don't know what its all about, it seems a bit stupid sometimes, I mean, simple to set up, and everything, but I keep getting all the same idential e mails saying the same thing about something I should do, that I have already done. Unfriendly internet thing. I've also rearranged my website, but it keeps going back to my old pages, which it ought not to do, cos I changed their names and everything. Stupid things. BUT.. I would like to express a public big thankyou to Mark Casarotto for his words of wisdom, about my last post, about setting up a university indie society. Also, can anyone, do me one ickle favour? I need someone to go and visit my site, and tell me that you see a purple column and stuff. Not the old version, with groovy buttons. Just a simple site. And check that the chat room works for you. well, everyone's been bluddy dying lately... oh poo... papa, je t'aime...no more Pierre Trudeau...that man's body has been paraded around everywhere. he's been laid in state, had his own via rail train... and the last of the international playboys has died as well...the last of the kray brothers has passed away as well...*le sigh* I remember i was still in school when the colonel died...i dusted my copy of the movie, the krays, off and watched it the other night...now i have this strange urge to listen to spandau ballet...i wonder why...? ummm...wow, everyone's got an opinion lately don't they... kid a(rse): kewl album, i'm not particular fond, but i don't think i have the final production copy of it though...i just like their ballady things, great to get laid to...but i guess hi and dry could ruin the mood...heehee... fishyclap is coming back into the fold...loverly ablum, so great i bought the mug... oh will they hurry up and tour...if i hafta to sit through another concert of something like mojave fuckin 3 again...and if anyone went to gybe! on thursday in t.o., i hope you enjoyed yourself...i can't wait for the new album... well, i finally had a reason to be happy to come into work today...and this time it's not because of a cute boy...i had my first experience networking in a bar after work last night, buy someone a half litre of cheap wine...the results of which should be seen in the next few weeks...i was so excited last night...my bf was excited to see me come out of my sad little funk...well, i'm rewarding myself by staying home with a bottle and just relaxing...not going out and catering to my friends and what they're doing... hugs and kisses to michigan listees, you may be getting an angelic presence soon... a.
