I object not very strongly to the following things in the
FAQs and biography:
1. Can't you say that Tigermilk is worth fifteen hundred
quid instead of two hundred?
2. Sarah Martin is listed as playing "novelty instruments".
I really don't have to say anything else, do I?
3. The Barcelona sky is full of smog, not stars. "Beneath
the gaze of a thousand gargoyles" would be closer to the
mark.

Whilst having to agree on the utter bobbinsness on Whiteout, I always
been intrigued by them , as around '89 i used to like another scottish
band called Perspex Whiteout - who were a kind of scuzzy Teenage Fanclub
whose finest moment was called 'YoU Turn On My World' - I Could never
work out if the members of this band became the woeful Faces copyists. I
always hoped not.....
Can any of you 'Sweatys' shed any light on this.....
Incidentally I've seen Whiteout twice (supporting O*sis & on the really
diddy stage from a distance at the Heineken festival in Leeds)Iwhich
means I nearly fell wrath to the '3 times rule' with them - which
states categorically that if you see a band 3 times you HAVE TO like
them - Ooo close shave
Thankyou for your attention
Paul.

hello all, first time post [bashful backwards step] from Boston ...
I think belle, sebastian and the lot are brilliant and I own everything I
can get my hands on and can't keep in the blank tapes fast enough to dub
them for my friends (who coincidentally all run out and buy everything on
CD or vinyl or both so how's that for paying the band back?) but one thing
I just can't figure out is ....
what the hell does "le pastie" mean?
And while we're on that song, I think it's amazing that he can make so many
cultural/pop references (Judy Blume et al) and get away w/o sounding like a
wee pretentious git. I think that's a first.
Okay, back to the day job. [slog, slog]

I am a huge fan of Catatonia and, much as I love Belle and Sebastian, I
think that Cerys would eat them up for breakfast along with her milk
and cookies
> I think I'll give that a miss judging the bloody awful "Mulder
> and Scully" single they've just released. Why all the Hyperbole
> surrounding Catatonia? Why do they have a cat singing on this tune?
Catatonia write great rocky pop numbers and are great live. At
least, unlike that godawful Rialto record "untouchable" the record is
good! A proper singalong chorus.
Respect going out to Leslie Chinea (for being so cool),
Tag(for giving a young "Spießbürger a chance),
Nick Dragon (for not having a go at me for forgetting how to spell his
name),
and Paul 'cause I know you are out there (send your first message

North is run by the same guy as Madchester (but nothing to do with FBI, as
far as I know). My girlfriend knows the bloke who runs it, and says he's a
really nice bloke. No big business thang going on there, apparantly.

Greetings fellow sinisterians (kinda like shakespearian only minus the
shakespeare. Anyway, i've decided i like this better than sinisterines
which for me has a kind of tangerine flavour and for some strange reason,
tango advert associations. [Disturbingly, this has led me to picture you
all as short, round, orange people and i'm scared that when i eventually do
meet you, our conversations will be very short and hurried because of some
deeep-seated worry i'll have that you'll all EXPLODE!! ])
Do none of you have anything better to do than sending me 247 e-mails about
how soddin marvellous the new Air single is? I'm NOT going to say that
you're all insane/ the single's shite/ utter arse/ drink !!/ girls'
knickers!! ( Don't worry yankees - it's a glasto-thang). Oh no, at Honey
Pie Paulie Poo's request i'm going to keep schtum.
BUT i am going to say.......I DON'T BLOODY CARE how damned good they are
- i never did - and after 247 emails, I still don't give a monkey's left
arse. STOP SENDING ME AIR-MAIL!! For the love of god,
STOP!!!.........Aaaaaaaaarrgh!!!!!!!!! [yep, "she's losing it"]
(yeah, i know, i know - bad, baad jokes]
And whoever it was who said that they thought there was a secret Virgin
employee amongst us - i agree. There's definitely GOT to be a spy here,
who i think we should find, and then castrate. Anyone wanna join me? Else
own up you bastard.
Anyway, I'm too hungry to find the culprit with a sick "sense of humour"
now, so
Au revoir mes cuties,
Yaz

I'd probably agree that it's a little odd having a load of songs on the
voting thingy that people haven't or are unlikely to have heard odd, however
for a band where the majority of their material is currently very difficult
to get then relative comparisons on voting could only make much sense
between the second LP and the EP's. She's losing it's in the lead is it?
That's odd. I'm surprised by the low turnout for A Century of Fakers myself,
and indeed for Electronic Renaissance, although that's one I know splits the
ranks.
You know how I said I didn't read any books, well.... Here it comes...
I'm currently reading "Inside OLE 2.0" Fantastic eh readers! It doesn't make
much sense mind you, for those of you who haven't read this book :-) ,
here's a quick definition "OLE is a unified environment of object-based
services with the capability of both customizing those services and
arbitrarily extending the architecture throuw custom services, with the
overall purpose of enabling rich integration between components". Cool eh!
Ooooohh Goooodd Heellllp mee...
Keith.
ps : Klas, I may well be seeing Athole tonight as it's a mutual friend's
birthday, so I'll get his address if I do.

Re- Perfume
My friend Alice swears the best smell in the world is that of the
freshly bathed and annointed Sumo wrestler on the way to the Basho. When
she was living in Tokyo she saw some of these burly warriors in all
their ceremonial threads and walked behind them entranced by the amazing
smell. Or maybe she likes a fat arse. Or both
