I've been there and there sure are a whole mess of lemurs on
those pages. More lemurs than you could shake a stick at, if you were
minded to shake a stick at lemurs, which of course I am not.
It cheered me up because it showed me that there is a lemur
called the slow loris, which is the name of a song by the Wolfhounds,
once a favourite band of mine, who of course shared a label with
McCarthy, the subject of several off/on discussions on this list from
time to time.
There you are, almost back on topic, in just two easy moves!
As for funny looks in record shops, I always think buying
multiple copies of things works a treat. The day I bought four copies of
'O.B. McClinton Country' by (funnily enough) OB McClinton in Power Cuts
in Manchester, for one pound each, the geezer behind the counter looked
as though he didn't know whether to call the police or the social
services.

Yeah, that's right. That's why they got extinct or got replaced by
monkeys in other parts of the world. Pretty much like bands like Oasis
replaced decent bands, e.g. B&S, if you can trust the top ten of the
indie charts. But Oasis is definitely not more evolved. So what's wrong
with this world? Or does it mean that cuddly creatures are bound to get
replaced by monkeys?

Talking of dreams, I had a Teenage Fanclub related oner last night.
And had completely forgotten about it, till both subjects came up
here....
They were playing on my driveway for some reason, or at leat it ended
up that way.... It also ended up with no one on stage apart from
Gerry, who was playing a six string typey guitar instead of a basey
type one. He then started to play songs on his own Billy Bragg style
and actually started 'The Short Answer'....
He then asked Norman, who was now in the crowd if he wanted to sing
it and Norman said he couldn't be arsed...
So I got up and said I'll sing it, and Gerry smiled and I started to
sing...
I could actually remember the words in my dream, but I was all out of
tune and it was horrible...
Thankyou doctor, but I think my 55 minutes is up now. See you next

sighs. It's one of my favourite B&S moments too.
Another is when Stuart M. told off the QM Union audience for being
very noisy, cause of 'too much cheap booze', in the most grannyish of
tones.
And I must confess I don't know what a lemur is either.
And to whoever enquired about Stuart Murdoch's pants, (I saw him in
the laundry, incase that statement appears very disturbing without
further qualification!), I'm afraid I haven't a clue, cause if my friends
ever found out that I had looked they would never let me live it
down. They wanted to know what I had taken, but i swear if Stuart
