Yes I heard this story. The bash was held on a boat in the Bristol Harbour. Someone said the Shelley record sucked and didn't belong on Sarah and Tim Chipping got into a fight with him and was thrown out.
Just goes to show that sometimes it's best to do your best job to keep opinions to oneself.

PS I had a radio show today on WMBR Cambridge, Breakfast of Champions. I wouldn't consider it appropriate to post the playlist on this mailing list. However, I do want you to know that I played Pastie.

"they should have never given us a record deal"

I got more famous stuff!
My mates brother knows STUART FROM MOGWAI
AND!!!
When I was about eight I got to go in that car Gumdrop coz I won a
competition or something...does anyone remeber Gumdrop?
Coz I don't know the cartoon B&S. All news to me. My friend saw it
written on a file and said 'oh, you remeber the programme too'! And I
thought, eh??
Others-OK mate, I'm a Manics fan! hahahah-evil laughs. The manics are a
bundle of contradictions, they're so different from B&S....don't compare
them. They have the same appeal, as in people can relate to/love the
lyrics, but the Manics always wanted EVERYTHING...and as for
pretense...I say 4Real....the only comparisons they have are with the
devotion that both bands inspire.
Oh, to see B&S in tight white jeans, eyeliner and leopard print! (or
maybe not eh? But admit it, its a thought!)
I wonder whatever happened to Doo Wop music?
Sorry.
I'm just going insane coz :
I NEED B&S GIGS NOW!
Wheres everyone staying in Manchester? I could get a train back home,
possibly but then I couldn't stay behind, which I'd want to do. I don't
know anyone 2 stay with! And sleeping in the train station doesn't
appeal, but I might have to...!
OH, and I'm in MM letters ssction, but not mentioning B&S, even though I
did dedicate a whole letter to them (and my email) which was published
earlier. there's kin of a hint in this letter'c'mon! prixe of a
toffeecrisp to the winner! Int MM turning into the indie smash hitz!
cool.
lovehearts and stars and fed up of the sqeally fireworks noises already!--

The urge to tell everyone who I am - uuurgggh - must resist it...
this soul baring thing...
I have a couple of questions:
1. Why do B&S thank Alan Rankine on Tigermilk? and is Billy
McKenzie's solo album any good?
2. My ex-boyfriend Fraser procured me a "Judy and the Dream of
Horses" mug. Does anyone else have one? I heard there were only a few
produced.
I am 48 years old. I studied limb management and I used to be a
ballerina but now I'm a faith healer. I spend my leisure time
sketching people's necks in public parks. I married a stonemason from
Cumbernauld and I have five sets of twins. I have fourteen copies of
Tigermilk. I've never listened to it. Is this the Gary Glitter list?
or
I'm 29 (just) and I live in Finsbury Park in London and I work for a
legal publishing company as an editor. I am, however, from Edinburgh
and went to University in Glasgow more or less contemporaneously with
Stuart Murdoch (who used to DJ at the QM Union).
I also have a copy of Tigermilk which my friend Greg got for me at the
launch party. Phew! However much as I'd like to tape it for all and
sundry I can't at the moment because my record player is knackered.

Had a few people commenting that their mailboxes are being swamped by all
you enthusiastic mailers this week and some are even leaving us! Shame,
but just to remind people that if they can't cope they can subscribe
instead to the "digest" version of the list: single mail messages with
multiple postings to the list - details on the WWW page.
I also asked for comments on digest length: well not many people commented
and reaction was mixed, but on balance I've decided the majority want
smaller, more frequent digests. I've therefore asked my list to generate
digests every 1200 lines, approximately 20 messages as a balance to try.
Please let me know what you think, either by mailing me direct or
(preferably) using the Comments form on my WWW page. And please tell me
if the digest doesn't appear to be doing what it's told as I may not
notice.
It's probably also worth asking people to post a little more stuff a
little less frequently, but I wouldn't dare as I'm as guilty as anyone
just know - posting all sorts of rubbish to keep myself amused while I get
well. Sorry! I will try to lay off a bit. But I think if people want to
tell us where they are and what they do - well you're welcome but tack it
on the end of something B&S-ish next time you post.
OK?
Paul

1) i sat on damon albarns doorstep for about half an hour and he
opened the door and was lovely!
2) i snogged the lead singer of measwear (don't ask why!) and
talked to ALL of them (hey how cool,,, not!)
3) i'm lovely friends with a)Chris Nettleton in the Nubiles. and b)
with David Ryder Prangly from Rachel Stamp (anyone ever heard of either?)
4) i met Jarvis Cocker and asked him to dance and he said he was
too drunk but later came to ask me!
5) i met Vic Reeves at a Blur gig and he stayed to chat for a while.
6) i saw justine frishmann and followed her down portobello road.
7) saw dave rowntree on a bike in camden and shouted hi, to which
he waved back.
8) saw sharon stone in the groucho club (invited by my sister's
boyfried, oh yes!)
i think that's it... no..... there are more, but it's too boring!

occassionally referred to as Clatty pats). I didn't go.
