Oh my God! this is my 3rd post today, they must not be working me hard
enough. Don't worry this will be my quota for the year
These are the bits as i hear them
>She went out to the easter house [?]
>
I think this is true - it's a housing estate in Glasgow. I'll not make a
fool of myself by saying any more. Hope someone is Glasgow can expand.
It was also the name of Morrissey's pick of 86(?) who as usual thanks to
the patronage of the quiffed one soon dissappered down the pan.
Others to be so cursed have been The June Brides, The Primitives,
Raymonde, Bradford, Marion. I think only James managed to ride that
particular one out..sorry to go off topic!
>Well I could tell you what I'm thinking
>But it never seems to do you good
>It's beyond me what a girl can see
>[?] when I'm riding buses
I'M ONLY HAPPY WHEN I'M RIDING BUSES??
>This is just a modern rock song
>This is just a sorry lament
>We're four boys in a [???]
>We're not terrific but we're competent
WE'RE FOUR BOYS IN OUR CORDUROYS.. (Oh I hope I'm hearing that one
right)
Well, that's how they sound to me - waiting to be shot down as usual
S'later

Now *there's* something that should be reffered to in a B+S song!
PS Why is the main guy from City Lights in Brookside (can't remember
his name) I thought he was languashing in panto hell.

Set List:
Century Of Fakers
Stars Of Track And Field
Expectations
She's Losing It
Is It Wicked Not To Care?
Slow Graffiti
Lazy Line Painter Jane
Sleeping The Clock Around
Rollercoaster Ride
A Summer Wasted
Like Dylan In The Movies
Loneliness Of A Middle-Distance Runner
this should be on the web site by now but i've had, er,
other things on my mind 8) i'm still missing a set list from
the saturday cmj-only show btw.
oh, and i can't believe 10,000 dollars for the gig hire,
even given they were there for 2 days. 10000 pounds for the
whole trip i've heard quoted but that may be a bit low given
that there are so many in the band and they were all there
for a week or so. who knows?
there was something else... it's gone. soz. ah, this stuff
was also available in the archives. the address is in the
little footer thing that's put on all sinister messages,
look, just down there at the bottom. see it? good. you can
even search them now.

Just a gentle hint to turn the noise level down a bit about Sarah
Records please. More sweet nothings about B&S required. Some of us
older folks are trying to sleep.
Nicola, you got any more National Express stories? It's still my
favourite story :) That'll make everyone feel soft and squishy.

So our heros want to tour Cathedrals! Wow! I reckon there's a new comp.
to be begun - Name that tour! "Belle and Sebastian - Rockin' the Vestry
in 1998". [if only it was Cock Fun in the Vestry...]
----------------------------------------
WOW!!!!!! What a fantastic idea. Belle & Sebstain in a cathedral!!!!!!! It
would sound amazing.
My claim to fame is that last year I went to see Fist Of Fun live at my
local Arts Centre and after the show spent about half an hour talking to
Richard Herring. I have both him and Stews autographs though. I have also
met Dylan Moran & Mike Atherton the England cricket captian.
Speak to you all soon

My claim to fame is that i was at school with Radiohead. When I see them
bestriding the world like the Rock Collossus they have become I smile
and think of Abingdon School - I saw them play the school pavilion at
our summer fate (when they were still called On a Friday). Bassist Ed
O'Brian was captain of the school 2nd eleven Cricket team the year
before me. That's the closest i've come to rock'n'roll infamy.
I'm looking forward to a London meet up.
Katrina - I've posted the stamps
John - I'm sending the tape today.
Everybody Wang Chung tonight!

While we're on the subject, I told Jarvis Cocker that he
couldn't sit next to me at the Union Chapel B&S do this year. Which I
enjoyed. And which brings the topic right back to the list. Cheers.
Anyway, I was saving the place for a friend of mine whose claim
to fame is far greater than Cocker's: her great grandfather was the
captain of the first professional football team ever to win the FA cup.
Wow.

When the stage
lights came up, we discovered that the object of our vilification was none
other than Rod Stewart -- who we didn't know from a hole in the ground then.
But to this day I feel very little regret.
And then there are the tales we don't tell because our sons are on this list
as well...
[Keith Watson]
Sound - Rod the Mod. He kicks ass, and footballs and will always be in my heart. Cool stories of Rock n'Roll debauchery though, liked the Jim Morrison one, I would have expected him to be leaping about screaming about the Lizard King and ejecting frozen fish fingers from the ship to lighten the load etc.etc.
My tales of Rock and Roll are generally dull as I don't really like people from bands as a whole they tend to be tossers.
Had an argument with all of Space and their roadies in Negociants in Edinburgh last year as I gave them a good shouting at for treating the student union helpers like shite and pointing out that they're not paid for what they do (they had been moaning on about the lack of professionalism all night).
Stood on Richard Ashcroft's foot at a Verve gig Dec 1993 with Oasis in Support at the Cathouse in Glasgow (to which I've since read that apparently the electricity failed, and Noel joined Ashcroft on the stage for an a-cappella version of She'll be coming round the mountain. I've read this twice now from different sources and can happily assure everyone that this DID NOT happen in any way shape or form. No power failure, no supergroup, no shit childrens songs.)
Saw the Queen in Cumbernauld 1977.
Used to walk past Alastair Darling MP on the way to Uni every day
Drink in a pub in Edinburgh that regularly boasts the "City Lights" actors (Tam, Chancer etc) and Lloyd Quinan Weatherman
That's enough for now though.
Cheers,
Keith.

I think perhaps the next time we get this sort of thing posted to the list, we should all bombard the culprit with "Oh no, please don't leave" mails... hee hee.
