That would be 'Index' wouldn't it, it's friggin awful. it's just
Lawrence and a guitar I seem to remember.

but so far I'm impressed by the volume of postings. I was lucky enough to
catch B&S at their last show in New York, and they were incredibly
wonderful live performers (though I heard from friends that they didn't
sound nearly as good at the W 54th sessions or the CMJ show). Presently I
am on the hunt for the sundry EPs that are circulating, though my search
has been fruitless thus far. I do have _If You're Feeling Sinister_,
though, and I adore it. One final note...I would love to obtain a dupe of
_Tigermilk_, if anyone's able and willing to provide one. If so, please
email me directly.
Thanks!

I am confused about the B & S taping!!! Are they planning to show the
concert on PBS? If they are, when?
Thanks

Just after I sent my last email, Ian came into my room and said that I
should go to Egg with him sometime. He also filled me in on were & when it
is and what music it plays. So, it sounds great. I'll look forward to it.
On another subject, did everybody here that Mark & Lard are being kicked
off the Breakfast Show and will now take over the 2 til 4 in the afternoon
slot. To put salt in the wound, they are being replaced by Kevin Greening
and Zoe Ball. A travesty, I think you'll agree.

I'm not sure I agree with you on that one. Kevin Greening is a lot
funnier in the mornings, Radcliffe has gone downhill so much since he
did late nights. Hopefully if he's under less pressure he might not
worry as much about minding what he says, because he's at his best when
he's slagging people off. Not sure about Zoe Ball though. Any idea if
anyone else is moving shows?

Today I wndered into my local ultra-conservative record
emporium, a place where George Michael is (quite rightly)
considered the epitome of cool, and do you know what was
playing?
Yes, that's right,"If You're Feeling Sinister" has finally
made it to this remote backwater!
It was deeply groovy moment.
I stayed until the end, unable to believe they'd leave it on
all the way through, but they did. As I was leaving the
kindly shopkeeper was scratching his head over the CD
booklet, so I think he might be a convert.
Definitely the nicest thing to have happened in that shop
since Manowar did a press conference, which the lead singer
started by telling the bemused punters that he had just got
out of bed with a girl with (and I quote), "the most
enormous ass you ever saw!"
Sorry to lower the tone.

As I recall, Stuart read from a book for 'elvis'. A friend of mine
actually took the set list from the event (I think it was the
drummers...richard? we were sitting right behind the drum kit.) so i
just typed what was on the set list.
i'm almost positive, but to be honest i was in such a state of nervous
exhilaration during the taping it's all like a dream to me now.
leslie.

I think she has mentioned Belle & Sebastian being played a few times at FBI
and Madchester. I can't remember what they played, I'll ask her tonight.
But there was a few instances of this before DoW's was released. It could
have been 'Dylan in the movies'.
The last time I was at Evol I asked for B&S, but the DJ just looked at me
blankly. I'll have to come along to Egg sometime. It's on at the Attic
isnt it? When is it on and what other bands get played?

Get in touch Paul if you want a copy.

He's a tosspot - never mind, he's given up playing the stuff he's actually into in order to make loadsamoney. Paul plays B+S regularly (he needs however to stop wimping out and playing the same ones every week). Evol's such a miserable piece of shit, I rarely manage to drag myself to dance there, whenever I'm there, and that's always because there's absolutely nothing else on.

I gave Paul a copy a few weeks ago but he's claimed that it's a shit copy, my stereo's like 20 years old - so perhaps it might be a good idea if you did him one. I did actually spend a good six months distributing copies of Tigermilk to egg-goers who I thought would appreciate it, some of them absolutely love it.
You should come along to the egg John, I was there with Ian Jackson last week who just turned up out of the blue, come out for a drink beforehand, I'm going to give Ian a ring some time, perhaps next week
