Sinister: We're all going on a summer holiday (sort of)

Firstly can I apologise to everyone who took offence at my little Megan-directed outburst. The problem seems to be that things are a bit open to interpretation and I totally misinterpreted. I have had my knuckles rapped a wee bit from a few of you - I do apologise. The last thing I want to do is offend anyone, it would kind of defeat the object of everything I have said so far. But the main thing is .. THE GREATEST FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD......EVER!!! Conclusive proof that Stuart still wants us all to come out to play. Too big/busy/popular to come to list picnics? Organise a list holiday camp!!! This is a band that cares. WeeJay, how can you say that you'll be going on your own? You may travel and enter on your own - but you'll have lots of us when you get there. I can't imagine a better festival to go to alone. I mean, I know precisely one person on this list and I don't know if he's going or not, and that still makes us two people short of a chalet but I would not miss this for the world! "It only happens once a lifetime, make the most of it". I'm cancelling my Easter holiday in Dublin in order to affrod to go to this, but this is the sort of thing you HAVE to do, isn't it? Aranxta, this is your Mallory Towers dreams come true - we can have midnight feasts and go swimming after dark and have lashing and lashings of ginger beer (OK wrong book, but right sentiments I think) and it'll just be the most fun ever. Right? See, I can post without moaning. I'm so happy, and I want it to be Monday NOW so I can buy my ticket and get all excited and stop worrying about whether I will actually get a ticket or not. I'm scared that the whole world will go and I won't get a ticket. That won't happen. It won't. Will it? I don't like this waiting thing, although it does give me an opportunity to find some chalet chums!!! I'm off to dig out my bucket and spade and practise "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside" a lot (I had to sing that on stage at my primary school once dressed in a swimming costume when I was about six. It was so humiliating! Teachers can be so cruel). Wahey!! Hello happy campers!! When I read the jeepster mailing about the fessie I thought, in true Stan style: 'Oh I can't go. Nobody will go with me, It's my dad's birthday, I have to be in college/doing college weeeerk... ' But then it seems everybody from very far away is saying that, and I live in the south of england and am a student layabout with a grant/pittance to blow on teenage rubbish. And it will be my last festival as a teenager - unless anything's happening mid-may/I have a strange desire to hit tribal gathering. So, difficult as it appears, I going to be there (and so will my boyfriend but he doesn't know yet. Ha ha). Anyone got the determination and the guts out there? Oh my, is it that time of year again already? I have no time just now, so I'm afraid you're getting the same card I sent last year, a poor show I know. Would you have noticed If I hadn't told you? Did you know my mum gave my dad the same card for 15 years, and he didn't notice? Alright braw baws, have a lovely day and anyway, we'll see you this afternoon for your annual birthday rodgering. Sinister: Camp me to the moon!

'Ola Chica! after i read about the holiday camp, for first five minutes i was jumping around with jealousy. then i think really hard. then next five minutes decision was made. that i must at least try! even if the DEBT demon is looming over my head in a frighteningly close position. it's not just the bands, it's the whole idea of going to the holiday camp and see music and do camping activities (ok i realize you'll be too drunk to do them but it's the thought that counts, yes) that is so irresistable. and to see all you loveliest friends again! whether you will be pleased to see me again so soon might be another matter. however, Mr.Miller i fully expect to see you this time, yes? the last mountain to climb is the visa thing. that's another frightening demon. sigh. i'm still reeling at my blindly boldly madeup of mind that hands still shaking a little make it hard to type. i'll go and compose myself as well as getting prepare for playing music tonight. at the BEAUTIFUL About Cafe/Gallery/etc. i don't think i'll do any good seeing that heart is still wiggling and beaming with dreams of the camp, all very assuming positively for now. i don't think i'm doing a shameful plug, no? because no one here will come anyway :) good lucks to me! oon xxx +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Sinister: ok, before i go out for a cigarette...

o woe! i'm mighty sad this fine, brrrr-y evening. if anyone is bored and wondering why this is so let me just say: i got a phone call this evening from the boy i'm infatuated with. he told me to listen to the college station and then quickly said bye. it turns out that he then played a b&s song--lazy line...--and now i have that song stuck in my head... ah, it should be so wonderful. except that i realize nothing will ever amount from this long-lived obsession. i'm too scared to even try. on another note, it snowed today! my friend pj is also sad like me. this girl told him that she didn't want to have any sort of relationship because "he's too nice." i know that alot of you are not fond of radiohead, but he wrote "i wish i was special" really big in the snow outside. you have to admire the boy's endurance, though. it took him an hour to do. well, i'm not sure if you can consider this b&s content. but i kept it short. have a superb weekend. and remember: tomorrow is anti-st. valentines day! i go outside now... byebye kisskiss KIMberly "will you really miss me? will you really think about me? yeah, i'd like to think so... but as they say: i'm always dreaming"--split screen

Sinister: "yes yes yes, it's the spring festival..."

...but the only thing "truly detestible" about it is that Callie and I CAN'T GO, having made honeymoon plans for Scotland the month before. If either of us had any other time off from work, we'd practically sell all our belongings to be there. Divine Comedy, Sleater-Kinney, Vic Godard, Cornelius, Broadcast, the Pastels and B&S on one bill, all at a picturesque holiday camp near the British seashore...my head reels. Someday there's going to be a miniseries called "The '90s." Right after the part where Clinton gets acquitted, there's going to be a scene at Camber Sands, thousands of clean-cut pop fans grooving to actors playing Looper. Our kids will turn to us and ask, "Mommy, Daddy, you liked them, right? Were you there?" dear "everyone gets to go to the festival except me" diary... i am selling everything i own...i am moving to the festival sight and i will wait...i do not feel any desire to talk to any of the bands...i just want to be able to watch for awhile...and maybe cry...it will be a long way to go...from michigan to the edge of the united states and then having to swim all that way across the blasted ocean...but so worth it...on the other hand...i wonder if my cat will be able to take all the walking...he is a lazy little bastard and all...and he does enjoy his sunday tea and without a teapot he certainly wouldn't get it...and what about his nap? oh, i cannot do that to him...maybe i won't have to move if a lovely belle-y and sebbie angel takes pity on this little redhead and sends a plane ticket to this addy... dreaming, m. elise +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net".
