Dear friends, i need musical help... never was afraid to know what it feels like when you go ??? when logic keeps with you falling down the mountainside with you, falling down. I got the keys to the nursery door a while back, but I quite liked it there, so I stayed for a bit. It was better than my last nursery, anyway (shudder). I've been lurking big-time though, because I talk pish + you lot don't :¬) B/S bit. When is this UK digital BelSeb thing on, because I actually know someone with digital telly. See this poster in Kilmarnock? Where is it? Rugby Park? 'Cos I sleep in Kilmarnock. Has anyone noticed that, say you're walking somewhere with Belle + Sebastian on your personal stereo, that the song you're listening to ends exactly when you get there? Or is that just me? It never seems to work in the car, mind you. Salinger thread(bare?). Anyone like For Esme With Love + Squalor + Other Stories? I mind I went back early for a new term at Uni once; got my grant, bought a pile of alcohol and stayed in 4 a week with the whole Salinger content from the English section of the library. I liked A Perfect Day For Bananafish. But I was a bit fucked for a while afterwards, probably a hangover. Like that Paula Cullen jakie. Hi all, If any u.s. listees would like a copy of the Bowlie or Dublin show and have something decent to offer in trade please mail me and we can hopefully work it out. I have good copies of both shows. On another note, B&S have been mentioned again in the gay porno mags that I sell at the store where I work. This time it was in the new "mandate". There was an interview with the Aluminum Group(who you should all check out) and the writer compared them to Belle and Sebastian. The interviewer is the same one who wrote about TBWTAS for one of the other mags, he goes by "blackie white". Anyone know who he is? Hello darlings, I finished an exam an hour early today, and decided to see how long i could hold my feet off the floor by holding my legs out in front of me. I was doing really well until one of the supervisors whispered in my ear to put my legs back down again, because it was un-nerving to watch, and asked me why was I wearing dark blue nail-varnish at school and certainly in and exam....but walked off before I would tell the wicked woman why. She trod on my foot as she went, and I'm sure she did it on purpose. Lleweth, thankyou for you Pretty In Pink trivia, I was most impressed by the extent of Pretty In Pink knowlegde you have to offer. I imagine sinisterines dining out reciting it all over the land. I thought he dress Andie made was pretty ace. so incredibly eighties it almost hurt....Duckie and her couldn't hook up at the end though, it just wasn't meant to be. Mind you, the end they did use sucked anyway. Blake was such a git, and she doesn't even say, "well you're a bastard but I love you anyway" she just snogs him. I was not satisfied. I always wanted to be one of the Pink Ladies, sarah. Hi Film Fans, Who played drums during the Belle & Sebastian Bowliequeue gig? The bloke in Vicky's picture doesn't look like Mr Colburn (likeness gleaned at last from Brit acceptance pictures.) Sinister: Rock you like a hurricane

Yesterday afternoon, M2 (the MTV channel that actually plays *videos*--novel concept) had a little 80s metal interlude--classics such as Ratt's "Round and Round" and Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages". I was riveted. And then came the Scorpions--"No One Like You," which is, bizarrely, a montage of their shows and wacky exploits during a tour of Japan. Japan??? The Scorpions??? How does that work? Is that like the David Hasselhof/Germany connection--odd, strong, and perhaps never meant to be understood? All very fascinating, I find. Anyhoo, I'm one of those fresh-from-the-nursery kids, difference between me and others being that I never knew I was actually in said nursery since I came to Sinister from another list. It's that ignorance/bliss thing. I now have Peet's (possibly the world's most caffeine-filled coffee) running through my veins and a slightly disturbing medley of "Dylan in the Movies" and "No One Like You" running through my head. Neither is conducive to me getting a good deal of work done anytime in the near future. Perhaps it's time for more M2 (yes, I have a TV on my desk at work--comes with the territory). Bummed that I missed the San Francisco meet-up. Next time around... Enough chatter from me. Oh, except to say that as far as books go, I must give a shout out to Ruth Ozeki's *My Year of Meats*--a funny, sad, brilliantly-written tale of a documentarian's adventures making a meat-based TV show for Japan. Makes me glad I'm a vegetarian. Also, in the film realm, check out *The Dreamlife of Angels*, a beautiful and painful punch in the gut with an amazing song over the closing credits (anyone know what it is?). Really, that's all. Hullo everybody. Stuart confessed: When I was at a party on Saturday night, very drunk off scrumpy and absinthe (which don't mix as well as might be hoped), I was caught kissing a good friend's girlfriend, while he wasin the room next door. So what the hell should I say to them next time Isee either of them? Booze. Parties. Eh? And that's about all the advice that I can offer. Perhaps you should consult the Paula Cullen Booooze Explosion. You'll all no doubt be delighted to know that the barbeque at mine went very well, and no rain came. Thankyou for your prayers. There were no 'good friend's girlfriend' incidents (that I am aware of), although I was at one point accused of being a 'lech', which I found rather troubling. Because I'm not a lech. Really. Why do all these B&S club nights happen on weekends when I'm out of town? I'm off up to Nottingham on Friday night for the Cricket at Trent Bridge on Saturday, but I'll be there in spirit.
