Dear List, Something is wrong with my internet,am forced to use slow-as-molasses-method.I went to a lundromat for the first time yesterday,it was delightfully urban.I chewed gum and read a magazine and swung my legs and felt like I was in a music video! My new house is located near university so there are loads of attractive older boys milling about.Not ONE has asked me if I needed help being shown around the neighbourhood yet.Am saddened by this fact.They all wear the look of IM SO COOL upon their visages.I dont know why they wont help me out...I`m the girl next door now. Because I want to bore Tag`s pants off (hur hur hur!) I must mention the Blair Witch Project.You have no idea how much it is hyped up this movie,and now I am beginning to think it was brilliant marketing stragety by two con men.I went in thinking I would have to paint a cross on my head in able to get to sleep after seeing it.Sadly...I didnt even feel suspense.Oh yes,marvellous acting...I agree,it has the authentic raw loook,it just didnt scare me OR my little brother (a true expert on horror films).I was SO UNBELIEVEABLY disappointed.Its all the critics in the newspapers who went on to say how it re-invented horror that bothers me.The mockumentary effect has been done before...and the groundbreaking ending? Thats been done too.Perhaps it was lack of music.I know..I know,there was no music for that authentic feel,but still,I swear...its music that creates the suspense I think.Mute your favourite scary movies and see how scary they are.Also,the thought of the forest being scary is ridiculous to me,but oh well.It has nothing to do with me being de-sensitized (up untill now we`ve only ever had 3 tv channels,so I never watched much tv) or the fact that the `its up to you ending will leave some viewers un-satisifed who are used to having everything explained for them` Listen,I watch those artsy-foreign movies that have those kind of endings all the time,and I love them..gah...and the one part in the ending,where Mikey is standing in the corner? Is he having a pee or what? Typical city folk! Think they can just whip it out anywhere when they come to the country.Thats what the tourists would do in Wakefield when they`d get off the train.Yes,we natives dont have electricity,of course.I also saw Heavenly Creatures (again) last night..weird,I think I`m being transmitted Tag waves. Sigh...I cry so much during that movie...how lovely it would be to have a friend you are that intensely close with! (Never mind the more sinister acts they commit,but the glory moments)Running through the fields and laughing and taking baths together and swimming in the forest creeks! So,gentle people,if you want to increase that heart rate,I`d recommend you save your money and just whip out a picture of Stuart Murdoch.(or Isobel if you`re one of them weirdies) Gosh,the picnic was a lot of fun,wasn`t it!? Oh..you didnt see me there? I was the little gnome up the tree who was taken pictures of you the whole time...heh heh.No honestly,I`ve been looking at some of the picnic pictures and Netscape closed down on me...I guess a certain some of you are just a little too foxy. Yes,if you have a Scottish (or English) accent you can have any girl you want over-seas.Duh! Well,you can have me at least.But I dont think that was the prize you were looking over,was it? Froth anyone? Its the waiting that causes it If i didnt want to hurry up It may never have been there But as it happens, i was in a rush Cant think why tho(?) Sinister: Introductions... sort of

Welcome to my first message to all of you. I am in New York City, where I have spent most of my time since the day I was born. My name is Maxwell. I think I'm supposed to tell you when I got into B+S or something, right? Well, it was about a few months after 'If You're Feeling Sinister' was released in the states. I went down to the record shop and bought it. I bought up the rest of their stuff, too. More information can be provided upon request, I guess. I was at the recent Looper show here at Tramps. Maybe someone saw me. I was the boy in black carrying a camera round the venue and not taking any pictures. Then I ran into some girls from my college and left with them. If anyone wants to come over tonight, let me know. My plan is to have a tiny soiree with drinks and food and music, but I'm a bit short on invitees. So come down and have a laugh here in Manhattan if you want. I've got good records to play, and many of them, but you can bring your own if you like. I'm looking forward to the end of summer. And I hope I don't sound depressed or anything, because I'm not that type. You'll see. I am just impatient, and ready to move on to the next phase of things. Sinister: This May take a while

Hmmmm... I'm intrigued As I see it (through untinted, glasses-free, slightly bloodshot eyes on a large screen) there is no particular topic and people rarely talk (to each other) about any common subject on this mailing list! Sounds like my kinda world! As I get into this, my scribblings WILL become less in-the-way and more humorous (god I hope I'm right this time) So, I better start by telling you who the hell (can I get away with blasphemy?) I am and why the hell (ditto) you're reading this damn thing :-) : 17 male and living well up north (Lancashire (England)) How I got here and am still here is still a mystery to me (I cant remember sending no email) What I do with myself is the same as most other 17 yr. olds - that means I'm a student who keeps on getting told to "do some f@#+¬`g work for once" I don't know anyone here (on the list, not in my village) and don't s'pose there will be many from round Blackburn/Burnley/Preston way (?) That's all the intro crap (how about that one big brutha?) outta the way! I will be responding to emails purely by the order that I read the little buggers (I'm really testing the verbal limits of the list here - woohoo!) Please inform me if you think I should be very very very surreal or just a bit surreal with my messages!!!! And, OON. That email about the weather and your niece nearly made me dislocate my jaw - luckily I was eating peanut butter at the time - but it did make quite a mess over my computer. aloha everyone. i just saw this in the news section of the official pulp page. i havent noticed any mention of it elsewhere, so i thought i'd share. REMIX Jarvis (Cocker) and Steve (Mackey) (not just Jarvis as previously reported) have remixed "Up A Tree", by Looper, a group on Jeepster Records. It isn't necessarily going to be released but if it is you'll be the first to know. That sounds absolutely wonderful. Hi Fwuffy Bunnies, Shit! Belle and Sebastian made a horror film? Who stars in it? Isobel?? I didn't even know until I started getting 3 digests a day about it recently - I'm so out of touch. I suppose this is a taster for what happens when Katrina leaves Jeepster Towers for the greener pastures of Robertson Mansions. Who at Jeepster will be able to bring themselves to post to us lot then? Last Saturday I plucked up the courage to attend my first Sinister Picnic on the electric Primrose Hill, even though Pam was too poorly & Sally was too hung-over to accompany me. Thanks very much to all the bright young things present for not making me feel too out of place. The football was fun even if you didn't play but were only one of the supporters (& Mexican Wavers/jeerers/name callers/piss takers/bitches (but we love you all really) :) ) Later in the pub I was privileged to hear from his own lips Tim's plans for Sweater, his Pixies tribute band. Narrowing the set down to reasonable gig length from the wealth of material available seems to be the only problem left now. "The Kit Kat Shuffle" is what Jo Brand called it on TV recently.
