Indeed it is.... Sundays always made me sad since I was a child... and... what an introduction!!! My name is Kalli, I'm new in the list, though I've been reading your messages for a while now, I didn't feel like writing... I live in Greece and I guess I'm quite older than most of you... I'm 29... Well, Belle & Sebastian is my second most fave band... Television Personalities is my most-most favourite... My life.... what a chapter!!! My life is disintegrating and recomposing right now...!! I'm going to leave my town and move to another, since I've got a new job in a state University, Architecture Dept.... Nothing that great & exciting though... and to tell you the truth these changes always upset me... it's very difficult for me to feel safe somewhere, so when I have to change location, flat, etc... I feel ill... Anyway, I've also have broken up with my boyfriend as things didn't move at all... He said I'm too romantic to fit in the real world, I've decided to defend my romanticism to death, so, you can understand... Morissey... well, Morissey is coming here for a single gig on the 5th November... an of coourse I'm going to be there... and, there's a huge possibility to meet him since a very close friend of mine is organising the whole thing... I'm not really dying to meet him, I'm not the groopie type, but I really think that the guy is a poet and I have a lot of respect for his work... At the moment we are trying to book CINERAMA (x-wedding present) for two gigs... And Cinerama is my third most fave band... I think their LP "Va Va Voom" was last year's best release... What else I do exept being broken hearted... and working... I paint... faces... scared and scary... this is my greatest passion... I've been accepted to University in London for studying Fine Arts, but the lack of financial support prevented from going... and that's another misery of my life... But *cheering up* with this new job I'll have time to paint, lots of time I hope... and afterall, I paint not for others but for myself, to feel that I'm in balance with the Universe, you know what I mean? I have to go now... hope didn't bore you too much with all these... I'm really happy to be here and be actually able to share all that with you... looking forward to hear back from you... I've just spent three hours reading my last few days mail and so am now in the mood to clutter up all your in boxes with my own brand of rubbish. DEATH had an argument about death the other day with a couple of my tutors 'cos they said that death was a loss to a person who dies but I said the act of dying is the end of a person and so there is nobody who is subject to loss. I argued it better at the time. Moral of the story...Don't study philosophy unless you can argue about this rubbish. GLASGOW MEET Sounds great...can anyone give me a floor to sleep on for the night though cos travel back to stirling aint easy unless I leave far too early. All of us too lazy to respond to requests from the PoCaff about National Poetry Day should go and vote NOW at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/poetry/npd_vote.shtml You can vote for your favourite song lyrics ever. My teacherific Mom told us about this after all her kids were mass voting for "4 to the 3 to the 2 to the 1, I'm on the microphone and I'm hot like the Sun", in their Information Resource Centre (school library) on Friday. We were going to vote for "You're so hot you should be a candle, So good to hold you shoulda been a handle", or "A scrub is a guy who thinks he's fly, also known as a 'bus stop'", but as these were most likely deeply-loved mishearings, we submitted the Paula Wilcox couplet from 'Photo Jenny'. In the light of events earlier this year, an organised B&S drive might not be that sensible. But it would be a great laugh if next Thursday Griff Rhys Jones did his usual tremendously drawn-out countdown, before forcing Rik Mayall or Roger McGough to dress up in orthapaedic shoes, or some boy's jumper, to 'interpret' the winner. Sinister: poetry parrot

That was wonderful jj!! >From a woman of wisdom...to me, naive by nature I found this poem in the New Yorker last week...read it carefully. If you read it too quickly, you'll miss the true meaning of the poem, which ties up nicely at the end. Life Is A Dream A talent for self-realization will get you only as far as the vacant lot next to the lumber yard, where they have roll call. My name begins with an A, so is one of the first to be read off. I am wondering where to stand-could that group of three of four other guys at the beginning of the line? Before I have a chance to find out, a rodentlike man pushes at my shoulders. "It's that way," he hisses. "Didn't they teach you anything at school? That a photograph Of anything can be real, or maybe not? The corner of the fridge, A cloud of midges at dusk-time." I know I'll have a chance to learn more later on. Waiting is what's called for, meanwhile It's true that life can be anything, but certain things definitely aren't it. Sinister: she's got that special something

hello my dears, tonight was the best night i have had in a long time. i went to the troc in philly and i saw boy sets fire and tilt. boy sets fire was good, but oh my god, tilt was completely amazing! i am completely mesmorized by the singer, cinder. i have been totally in love with her ever since the last time i saw tilt. i was standing right in the front the whole time too, and cinder loves plastic bracelets. i had on my favorite blue water glitter bracelet and i threw it on stage and she wore it!!! ahh i almost died. i sang along so loud to all of their songs, i didnt even look at anyone else in the band, i just kept my eyes on her the whole time. i know this isnt going to make sense to most of you sinisterees, because i havent gone into details with any of you (well except for one of you), but seeing her tonight made me realize alot of things. in a way it has cleared up alot of confusion that i have had about certain issues. i feel good, and i am going to go to sleep dreaming of her. goodnight darlings. xoxo, lauren +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Sinister: BOO

Does anyone know what the story is behind "Poupee De Cire. Poupee De Son" and why it is so awful? I really think that maybe it was just a bad judgment call. True it does seem to be a bit of experimenting by B&S but I really think that maybe that type of experimentation should be kept to a minimum, I personally don't think that style is their forte. Not that I'm anti-experimental, I'm all for it, I just think some things are not advantageous to be herd by the general public. I'm sick today, slept till 7. I hate being sick. Everyone here has the flu because the weather in Indiana is very fickle and while it may be a high of 87 one day it will be 52 the next then back up to 91. I love fall but schizophrenic weather brings me down. My boyfreind is convinced he's not sexy, I disagree. He just loves to make a comment every time I look at him though that kinda pisses me off, then he says I'm just not interested. I'm starting to think he's more interested in pushing my buttons then anything. I love him though, 9 1/2 months now we've been together. I just wish he'd join me in THIS world instead of languishing in his sluggishly stylish other-world. Boys bring nothing but headaches. I'm convinced. Well, I have to go drink the night away. if i'm not mistaken, today (or yesterday, depending on your time zone) is the day we should wish a happy happy day to that most sinister of couples, JJ and racheeeee! may you both be incredibly happy together for the rest of your days :) and you'd better put up pictures so we can all see how beautiful your wedding was! in honor of their wedding and since damon sent me the poetry parrot a week ago, i'll pass on a little wedding poem by John Ciardi: Most Like An Arch This Marriage Most like an arch--an entrance which upholds and shores the stone-crush up the air like lace. Mass made idea, and idea held in place. A lock in time. Inside half-heaven unfolds. Most like an arch--two weaknesses that lean into a strength. Two fallings become firm. Two joined abeyances become a term naming the fact that teaches fact to mean. Not quite that? Not much less. World as it is, what's strong and seperate falters. All I do at piling stone on stone apart from you is roofless around nothing. Till we kiss I am no more than upright and unset.
