okay, so the news around here is going really wierd. Hello there, after a brief flurry of two posts in as many days, I appear to have slipped a little. But fear not! My named is not punctuated with a Boom for nothing! Im still stuck in Pop Central, so no Belle and Sebastian for me. I say stuck, its lovely being stuck in pop central. dear sinister sisters and brothers... cleaning out my outgoing mail folder is always nice. i have mail in there that i started to respond to since april. lets start, shall we? It would have saved a hell of a lot of stress......." >> but whats the fun in it? c'mon, isnt everyone fond of hair pulling all nighters? when you've drunk too many cups of coffee and the caffine makes so wired that your eyes are involuntarily shaking? or you've been working at a computer so long that if you look away the lack of scrolling might make your brain explode? and all that music thats been playing the background has turned into mush, and you hear the lyrics telling you about elephants that are standing behind you getting ready to steal your peanuts... but then you realize that you dont have any peanuts, so in the middle of writing your paper you have to have another cup of coffee and run to the store to buy peanuts to appease the elephants that the music told you were there, but when you look behind you and under your bed they seem to have dissapeared. and then you realize that they are gone because your cat has just climbed on your computer and typed things and what was the beep? ::gasp:: your cat just deleted the paper that you've been working on for hours, and for some reason the caffine kept you from saving the paper before going to the store.... so you throw the peanuts (which are in a can, by the way), breaking the window, so the house alarm goes off and the elephant that you were sure wasnt there charges to go get the peanuts, stepping on your foot. so you find yourself without a paper or peanuts, with an elephant running about your front yard, and a swarm of police asking you what happened while you hold your aching foot. then you remember, you dont have a cat. luckily _I_ dont have a paper to do.... ok. that was april. i might have been on something when i wrote that little rant, but honestly.. it was april, how am i supposed to remember? actually, i can assure you that i wasnt on anything, as i am never on anything. now.. um.. this is from yesterday: Genevieve said > I love Electronic Renaissance.Is it really viewed as the stinker of > Tigermilk? Yoy. Double Yoy! I'm going to see Phish on Friday. I'm expecting a lot of kids in their best retro hippie sixties duds, laced with hallucinogens. If I remember anything other than the bright lights, I'll post again with details - hee hee. Generally in America, the quality shows don't even make through a full season, Lawrence. Its kind of funny how the 10th grade kids in Dawson's Creek speak with English Lit professor-like vocabulary. Or, er (slight pause), maybe they always did and I'm just stupid. Plus, those kids in Freaks and Geeks didn't wear A&F so that explains the cancellation even more. Clothes from the Army/Navy store won't cut it on American TV. A while back a youngster posted an email and it sounded almost as if his name came straight from a character in Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. Bonobo, I believe. Does Bonobo believe in Bokonism? Welcome Bonobo! I went to Scotland for a week a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful country, great golf courses, nice people. I noticed street signs that said "Elderly People" (with a picture of two older people with curved spines) . Such political incorrectness would never wash here in America. Hello everyone :) I have a bit of rambling to do firstly,but there is some very important B&S content atthe end, I promise, so just bare with me!! :) Or scroll... How are you all?? I hope you are all well. :) I am. Kind of. On Monday I went home sick from work at lunch time. And haven't been back since. The thought of it makes me sad. I used to love that job, now all I have is the disire to spend "the summer wasting" [Jes doesn't know how lucky she/he is!! ;)]. I suppose I better go in tommorow. I went to our wonderfull shopping centre today [CMK...Central Milton Keynes, that is. At least we have amusing modern art... Concrete cows can never fail to please. Maybe I should of said a'moo'sing... Sorry, that was crap. It made me smile though. Hahahaha!! :)] Well... I got a nice "Mr Bump" bag, and some cheap CD's from HMV. And some shoes. These are cool. Little black ones. I needed some shoe shoe's rather than pumps. The discription on the box was "Ballet Pumps" which I thought was a nice discription. I'd like to see a balletrina dance in these though. That would be almost as funny as going to Mouches sports day. But not quite ;) ANYWAY. I discovered from this shopping trip that a) There is obviously a law which I have not been informed about which prohibits people from buying shoes whilst wearing flares. Every single shoe shop they looked at me funny [as in more strangly than usual] b) NEVER EVER EVER go shoping whilst pulling a sicky. i saw my bosses son at the cash point and i had no way of escaping. So i had to duck and hide behind this big temporary wall ie in building site untill he was gone. Eeeeeeeeeek!! So... Shall I quit work untill I go back to college?? I dunno what to doooooooooooooo :( ************************************************************************ BELLE AND SEBASTIAN CONTENT.... ************************************************************************ I would look back in the archives... But I haven't because they scare me. I looked before but found nothing. There is sooooooooo many messages. i just get lost and can't escape and end up haveing to turn my computer off :( So: I don't know the date of the recording, but I guess it must be before Bowlie. I have got this recording of B&S on the evening session tour bus. They play a song called "Wrong Love" which sound suspiciously like "The Wrong Girl". IT IS THE WRONG GIRL!!! But with different lyrics. But it is the same song!! Does anyone know nything about why it was changed?? I like "wrong love" more. Theres this really cool line... It goes (in really deep voice) "I'm not what I could be, I need SOME LOVING, I went looking and I FOUND SOME, the wrong LOVE........." blar blar all the same except replace the word Girl with Love :)))) You see, you have to sing this in "The wrong girl" tune. And thoses bits are in capitals for no other reason than to highlight the words which are different. Anyway... Anyone got and info??? Hehehe... :) This recording must of been before Bowlie as it was played as "The Wrong Girl" there. Thanks for listening if you have managed to read this far! Oh... And speaking of Bowlie, someone [sorry,can't remember who,sorry :(] was asking what song they played which said "Love" in it a lot. Was it Winter Wooskie? Sinister: I think I'm on a horse with no name

Hello all- I just got back to the US a couple days ago from my six month stay in England (previously posting from hah102(a)york.ac.uk, flaking out on the glasto meet up, etc). Anyway, I'm staying with my parents for a month here in humid Richmond, VA. And I don't know anyone here. Expect for my parents. And my cat. And sometimes my kitty's conversation lacks a certain sparkle. So if there are any listees in the area I would lovelovelove for us to have a picnic, meet for a drink/coffee/whatever. Yes. Please email me privately, etc. Okay, to try to fit in B&S somehow... my journey was almost completely B&S free, except for on the flight from JFK to here in the tiny propeller plane in which I was trying to keep calm by pretending I was a modernist jetsetting my way to Las Vegas, or some colonial-type on my way to the depths of the jungle. But it didn't work. Sinister: London picnic, dreams and a complain

I've found out a nice meeting-point with the help of some fellows listees, all this coming from a good idea: why don't we meet in a pub? So here we go, a pub. When going out of Camden Town tube station, on the left exit look for Kentish Town Road, where is a big pub called "the world's end". Just between this road and the station, in a corner, is a little nice pub called "Halfway House". That's the one. So I'll be in here (hopefully not alone) let's say between 1pm and 1.30pm, so you are all very welcome to join us in here, and after having a nice pint we can all go together up the hill, and do picnic things as stated in my last post. I had a sort of B&S related-dream last week and it was so weird I thought I'd told you. I was at my place with some of my friends, and we were apparently working on a music-hall based on B&S songs. I was doing something on "judy and the dream..." and some other ones on other songs, so we were her jumping and dancing and singing and working on our show, and then my friend Kathryn decided the final would be on "legal man" so we were all doing "paaaaa pa pa paaaaa pa pa paaaaaa" in glittering costumes. Argh. That was a bit scary I admit. Would you imagine a music-hall with B&S songs as a background? Anyway, I guess that's all for today... I must though, before leaving you in peace, scream my despair about that awful weather on London, rain and cold in July: ARGH. hello. last sunday i went to this little jazz happening weŽve got here.i was planning to see some italian trumpetist,but i came there too late and i missed him.but best was yet to come.i got in free because of my good looks and charm, no they just had stopped selling tickets cos the last act of the evening was on.it was this brass band from new orleans (they mix brass music with modern jazz). it was brilliant, i couldnŽt stand still,i just had to dance, which is a bit strange cos i hadnŽt had alcohol or any illegal drugs.there was this boy who danced like a devil.i havenŽt met anyone who can wiggle his hips the way that boy did.it was magic.i danced the whole night. now i got to rush home and go to sauna,and listen to frank zappa. me xx my fave song at the moment: gun club Žst. johnŽs divineŽ from their Ždivinity-epŽ the boy sings about boozing,and practising voodoo in your bedroom.anytime.
