Paul,
Sorry yeah.
Hopefully by now Sarah and I have resolved any differences and had a firm virtual handshake.
You will realise of course (as you said), the importance of these issues, and by actually posting this to the list it has meant Sarah has gained invaluable knowledge (not!) into the goings on of Local Govt Finance, and me to the plight of our nations studes. It has not been totally in vain.
Sorry again.
Adrian.

Totally!!!
Have you managed to get hold of any of their stuff? People just
give
me blank looks when I mention any of the best bands from Helterskelter.
Robin Scott is far and away better than Elton John. "Kicking up the
Pavement" is so moving.

...no, not really. I'm actually very happy to be here. Like the happy
bunnies the signature says we are, this list just keeps on multiplying, and
I'm one of the new members. So, hi everyone.
My name's leeann, I'm 17, and I'm a new(ish) Belle and Sebastian fan. I won't
get into my reasons for loving Belle and Sebastian, because I could go on
forever (friends *will* vouch for this). It's just that the moment I heard
them, I was in love. Which has never happened to me before. Which feels
lovely. Belle and Sebastian make me want to dance about, and I often do, much
to the vexation of my friends. Well, it's either that or my tuneless banshee
screeching to "Lazy Line Painter Jane"...
I'm also founder, President, and member of my town's Belle and Sebastian fan
club. Membership is currently in the 1 range, reflecting a staggering growth
of 100% over last year's membership. The club began as a cheap ploy to lure
these two Belle and Sebastian fans that my friends told me about over to my
house, but has evolved into much more than that. Club activities now include
comparing sketches of what we imagine the band members to look like, checking
coin return slots in pay phones to finance a trip to New York when B and S
tour, and learning just enough guitar to play "Me and the Major". Plus my mum
sells the ultra-rare, indie label, out of print Tigermilk candy bars after
meetings! Totally pristine these are, never been licked or bitten into, for
the bargain-basement price of $120. You're all invited to the next meeting,
of course. I'm getting sort of tired of bossing myself about...
yours,
leeann

On Tigermilk:
>Surely it would be better for them to swiftly bring out a reissue,
>(maybe on CD, so there's no problem differentiating new copies from
>the original).
We've had this thread a couple of times already - It's a comet that
orbits the list every couple of months. Unlike a comet it gets larger
- before Jeepster hurls it off into (cyber)space again.
We all love the band - personally, if I found someone selling a pirated
copy I'd mail Jeepster to tell them what it sounds like :-).
But seriously, I'd have to tip off the band and Jeepster, since it's
assumed (by me anyway) the band will reissue it sometime on CD so I
could get a nice clear copy then. But will they? We could harange
them constantly until, on the verge of madness, they submit. (I got
this idea from a Simpsons episode).
Ahh Sarah, what have you started?:
>I do not mean to. And no I am not in SWP or the Communists. I happen to
>care about education. I think it is time that people realise it is not
>only the Uni fees that are being cut, it is EDUCATION as a whole.
Paul said non-UK listees wouldn't be able to follow this thread. I may
be wrong but don't most of the students in other countries have to pay
for their Uni fees/living expenses etc? (no need to answer). From their
perspective Sarah's heart-felt and honest anger/fear may seem faintly
ridiculous. Enough on this thread I think. ENOUGH I SAY!

This is ironic, for I'm doing the same thing. I'll go ahead and make my
offer since it should be finished at the end of the week -
"Puerto" (issue 6) is putting out a series of "roasts", the first of which is
on Belle and Sebastian. Puerto is actually a suppliment to a larger zine
("Mito") and comes free, but I won't be printing too many. It's only 8 pages
(being a suppliment), and includes various roasty topics. Being reader
friendly, if anyone would like one, just send me your address.

Hiya... a friend of mine is starting up a B&S fanzine, and as she only has
limited access to the net, I said I'd try my best to enlist the support of you
lovely and prolific list people.
The address of the fanzine is: Kristen Bailey, 19 Caburn Heights, Southgate
West, Crawley, W. Sussex, RH11 8QX.
So far Kris is just drumming up help and contributions, but it looks set to be
a top 'zine; and all articles, reviews, suggestions, memories, ink
polaroids/movies, umm... favourite girls name songs, favourite buses in pop
culture... bus-related experiences.... fave bus routes!... will be most
welcome. Or just write to the lass to let her know she's doing a good job!!
Thanks in advance!
Love and glitter,
Hannahxxx

I'm really sorry to be such an awkward idiot but I really need a
big favour. I've just got back with my ex-girlfriend Laura and I
really want to do something special to show that I can be
romantic.
I thought it would be a really nice idea if some of you lot could
email her, saying that she's a great person and I'm glad that we
are back together.
I know it sounds strange but I wanted to do something original
and that was all I could think of.....any other suggestions would
be appreciated.
Please help my ill fated love life! Thanks a lot
