I agree with tearful Nick, it's definitely one of my favourite songs.
Keith, your description of Air has certainly cleared up any doubts I may
have had. That's the second time you've described something as being like
John Martyn crossed with something unlikely in recent weeks. I'll have to
have a listen to John Martyn sometime.
Lest we forget, bashful Amanda Bergman is always talking about her Spanish
homework, so I think she can be added to the list of people getting a big
hug from Elizabeth, like it or not.
I am now using Outlook Express. Good old Microsoft, the Mr Kipling of
information technology.
Mussadiq, our resident revolving wether cock, I need your address to send
you this tape I've finally got round to doing. I managed not to put any
Elton John on it.
I've been looking at the photos on Paul's webpage today. Somebody's been
cutting pictures out of magazines, haven't they?

But hey, stuflike this won best cool llist thing on te indie pop list
which apprently is dead cool and groovey which, um.....
AIR! You know what? If i ever meet AIR I will shoot them all and then
laugh because its either that or cry with boredom when I read another
email saying ooh they're ace.
I'll tell you whos ace.
LIONEL VINYL ON RED ROSE GOLD 999AM!
He *is* jazz club!
Anyone in the north west, tune into his show.
I'm going to rign up for B&S. heehee that should be funny.
Hey, um, don't laugh at me Spanish people, I'm doing Spanish GCSE to A-
Level (aaaaaah!) and I'll do the best I can :-)
tengo Tigermilk tambien, y um, no soy bueno con espanol. um , please
help me if I make any silly mistakes.....oh i feel ignorant and stoopid
now. Begginers Spanish. And i cannae even spell in English. Unfair.
Estoy tirando (?), y too tired de pensar.
Hey hey hey! I just read an email from a 'new fan'. Wow! Do i count as
an 'old fan?'!!! I wish I do, I always seem to miss out becuase I'm ill
and got a headache and stuff. Oooh making no sense at all.
Well, I know somethig you don't. You see, Belle and Sebastian were
playing a gig in Cornwall. And they loved the local cusine. But 'cos
Cornwall is posh and stuff, they couldn't afford the pasties, being for
the upper class jetset of Cornwall. So Sarah (i love Sarah SHE'S ACE!)
said 'oooh, le pastie de la bougeosie', and everyone said 'oh Sarah
thats so great, we'll use that as a song title, rallying against the
exclusivisation (?) of local delicasies for the already privileged upper
classes'. And thats why its called 'Le pastie de la bougeiosie'.
HA.
Um, what else did I have to say? I can't think. So it can't be
imporatant. I hate colds. They are sooo nasty its unfair. And I've just
got glass of water that tastes like sweeteners oh bugegr!
Hey, I'm on the internet go and look at me.
Not that you'd want to.
Sorry.
I'M GOING NOW BYE!!!!!!!

Hmmm... Some abnormal voting patterns have come to my attention. Remarkably,
"Expectations" and "I could be dreaming" have _rocketed_ up the chart in the
space of 24 hours to occupy slots 1 and 2, ousting long term resident "She's
Losing It" into fourth place. I suppose it's possible that this is just
coincidence, but my suspicious nature is wondering whether the dark forces of
block voting from multiple e-mail accounts may have something to do with it.
This must be stopped! (Unless you're all voting for "Belle And Sebastian" and
"La Pastie de la Bourgeoisie", in which case I give it my full support.
It's interesting how SM's less parochial songs, the ones that don't tell you a
story about some girl and her adventures, or include lines about, say,
throwing discus for Liverpool and Widnes, tend to be less favoured. Songs like
"The Boy Done Wrong Again", "You Made Me Forget My Dreams" or, in a different
way, "Electronic Renaissance". I'm really suprised about TBDRA now being
bottom of the heap - sometines it's my favourite song on IFYS. When the piano
goes d-d-da-da da-da (my musical training serves me well again) and I hear the
line "All I wanted was to sing the saddest song" my heart very nearly breaks
<sniff>.

You serious? Evol... shite more like. The only times I've ever wound up at
Evol's when absolutely nothing else is on. In all seriousness mind, I don't
know when you were last there but Mr.Mellotte's turned it into a money
making proposition, so it's no longer the club it used to be anyway really,
it's when the top of the original playlist :
Sonic Youth, Mudhoney
became...
Blur, Oasis
That kind of gave it away.
I used to quite enjoy FBI, although I haven't been since summer 1993 and
everyone tells me it's complete arse now. I've been to Madchester a couple
of times, and frankly it seems a bit weird. It started off Madchester like,
which was a nice kind of nostalgia trip, but wound up not really being
Madchester at all, just another indie club really, which is a shame, cause
you go wanting to hear records that you haven't heard for years and you
thought you hated anyway, and when the dust settles years on, you find
yourself going "Sing LSD" out loud and sutff.
Cheers,
Keith.
