Sinister: Felt samples

CALAMITY! Something terrible has happened! Oh, and I'm so afraid all those nice people who sent me lovely samples will be mad at me!!! I'm not sure WHAT I've done ('cos, as my Dad always says, " it's never the computer that does something wrong, it just follows up your commands"), but I've lost the wav- files, which means I can't open the attachments, which means I CAN'T LISTEN TO THE SAMPLES!!! On Monday everything worked fine, but then I didn't have any headphones. And now.... Would you be so kind as to send them again? Sat here at work, idling my time away listening to tinpot Radio 1, and then Jo Whiley plays the new B&S single 'Le Pastie...'. It's a beauty. She then went on to say she'd heard a tape of some songs they'd done, and they have a bright future ahead of them if they wanted it. Also told the 'nation' that '3, 6, 9 seconds of light' was single of the week in both Melody Maker and NME. Not bad that eh ? I'm happier at work now. couple of comments about it... First of all, has anyone noticed that the beginning of She's Just a Baby is right from the beginning of Yes' Yours is no Disgrace? Funny, eh? The melodies on Tigermilk are really intensely [Keith Watson] Yes - I posted this on the list in the first week - and someone else said they'd noticed too. I'm amazed that anyone had heard the song! I find it more weird that "Lonliness of the middle distance runner" sounds like "It's only love" by Bryan Adams and Tina Turner. I have to admit that I hear "midget" rather than "major" when I listen ... even tho' I know it's wrong. I think it would be wonderful to turn on the radio and hear B&S -- as long as they weren't on "heavy rotation" so that you hear them so much you hate them -- familiarity breeding contempt and all. The only show to play them in the NY area is the Vin Scelsa "Idiot's Delight" show on WNEW-FM (102.7), Sunday nights from 9:00 to 3ish. Although the station is "classic rock" during the rest of the week, Vin's show is an example of what radio could be. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
