this is late, i know.
it's already 1 october in the UK, but i'm not there.
i'm here in the US and it's not 5:30 yet, by the clock on my computer
screen. and believe me, i know when half past arrives because that's when i
leave.
i really did mean to write this sooner, but september has been a very short
month. everyone agrees with me so it must be true. and i've been scurrying
about like the hyperactive bunny i can sometimes be to find a gift for my
edward. i think i've finally narrowed it down to something that he'll like
and will also pass safely and quickly through customs when i post it.
so you see, i've had my mind on other things lately and have not gotten
around to writing one of these things until now. i still haven't written it,
so let's see how it goes.
oh, by the way, i've only now been subscribed to this list for ten minutes.
that is, here at work anyway. i have another e-mail account at home
(artyfartystudent(a)juno.com) but i hardly ever post to this list anyway so
you may not recognise my name. i've been on since the coollist days, though.
~ink polaroid number one~
this is one of my leg. i got that bruise at a concert. i can't remember the
exact moment it happened. i'm sure it happened in that adrenaline rush to
climb over chairs and get to the front of the stage. after the show i pulled
up my trouser leg and there it was. beautiful, isn't it? i made helen take
loads of pictures of it cos i've never seen such a lovely shade of
blue/purple. for days after the show, i flashed my leg at anyone who would
look. i'd tell them that i got the bruise at a concert and they'd think i
was tough. oh yeah. and look right there at the top. over near the top of my
calf. see that swirl and that curve right there? i reckon the bruise looks
like elvis!
thank you for reading this. it's past 5:30 now and there's a bus with my
name on it 'round the corner.
:)

For a while II thought it was:
"hey can you call everyday...."
when your mind's not sure and your ears try to fill in the blanks.

I know you all have heard this to hell and back, but...
Anyone able to help a poor bloke out with a tape copy of "Tigermilk" (if
your stereos aren't worn out already)? I don't know what I can offer in
return, but I can certainly throw together a comp tape of what I'm
listening to, or send off a blank and some postage...
Thanks to whoever responds!

Hmmmm, maybe the revolution in the UK has begun, but
without a label here in the US we have little to fear. B&S will
stay very much underground without a label to promote them.
Commercial radio over here will never bite on this band unless
a label forces them to pay attention to the record. I'm sort of
happy about that aspect of them not having a label here right
now. And that is nothing against B&S' success, as it is that I
can only wish the band nothing but that....it's just that I think
I'd selfishly prefer them to stay on as a delightful little band
known by a select few who truly understand, who truly
appreciate, than see them become pop superstars known by
everyone worldwide. Than have them be as familiar to the
masses as REM and U2.
By the way, there are lots of rumours as to who are going to
represent the band labelwise in the US now that The Enclave
is gone, but has any real deal been worked out?
