um, this sounds like a question for the faq... (dave!)
me:
>>two of b&s played on the arab strap peel session
kate:
>ooh...have B&S done stuff with any other bands do you know???
well, chris plays with v-twin (doesn't he?) and the trumpetter had another band
until recently. and then there's polar bear which i've been meaning to ask
someone about. a friend has the polar bear single and says there's some b&s
involvement there (and it's on electric honey records) but i haven't been able
to find a copy and i know nothing...
other questions for the faq whilst i'm here (i posted these a couple of days
ago. unfortunately i posted them to the wrong place. not the first time (he
says, looking at the TO: field and realising that paul's gonna have to forward
this message as well!) and it won't be the last)
- the names of everyone in the publicity shots and cover shots.
- addresses / descriptions of all the place names that crop up like cava, the
(misspelt) grovener cafe, easterhouse
- unreleased songs including things only played live like 'reel around the
fountain' and that associates song that gets mentioned in 'ink polaroids'
- lists of alternative phrases that stuart's instead of 'c&a' (or is it
debenhams where the tables are moved?) whilst playing live ('prince's street'
in edinburgh, 'oxford street' in london). yeah, ok, it's a short list... 8)
er, that's all... (except to throw in a few more brackets (just for the sake of
it))
andy
who'd like to remind duke (who's just about to come into some demos by the
sound of it) of the couple of tapes i've sent him in the recent past... 8)

Hmmm ... Stuart Murdoch supported the Pastels ages ago ... he joined the then
unsigned DIGGER$ (... nowadays on Creation ... recommended) for a very short
time ... and he planned projects with Douglas BMX Bandit, but this never
happened ...

yeah, the suggestion is a good one.
anyone who writes the best Ink Polaroid in Stuart David's style wins 3
posters (one for sinister, one for dog on wheels and one for lazy
line)and a t-shirt (size and colour of choice).
The rules:
1/ Only one entry per person, no cheating I'm going to keep 'em all plus
they'll be in the archive for me to check.
2/ Not B&S related! (sorry Paul but I was speaking to Stuart Murdoch
about this and he said he wanted it like this so he can enjoy reading
them too.)
3/ Not too long. The list I've no doubt is putting a strain on people's
inbox and slow modems. So please keep it shortish.
4/ The subject line in the e-mail has to be "Compo" for it to be valid,
this way people who don't want to read them can delete them at leisure
and it's easier for me to sort through them.
Compo will close on October 1st 1997. So all entries in by then.
The judges will be myself and if they want to: Paul Mitchell, Duke of
Haringey, Andy Dean and maybe Stuart Murdoch and Stuart David.
love
David Kitchen

I don't want to sound really stupid, but how much is a quid? I know that
once you get 200 of them you can get across the ocean, but I don't know how
high airfare runs over in England.
>>so your local tramps lick the pavement as well do they?
among other things.

I took this one when I was in France. The girl hanging out of the window is
Vanessa. Joanne wanted me to show her which dorm window was hers, and as I
was pointing, she popped her head out. "Allo, Joanne!" she said. Well,
needless to say, I fell instantly in love with her. She invited us all out
for dancing that night, and as we stood around planning how to get into the
dorm past curfew, she just leaned out, smiling on us. The hand popping up
into the bottom of the picture is Jenn's. She was waving her hands over her
head saying there was no way she was going to climb up a sheet into the
second story window. Not that I blame her. She always was kind of awkward.

Hi all
wow, this new list looks great, I havn't had so much mail from the list
in one day !!! ( Probably due to most of it getting lost @coollist!!! )
This is a kinda continuation from the last list, about what Seymour
Stein was about, well you can make your own minds up now !! And also a
chance for me to test the amazing claims that this message will actually
arrive at the list !! < ha ha >
Has the other list closed down then and has everyone been taken off it
??
Seymour Stein Lyrics
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬`
Seymour Stein
Ive been lonely
got a glimse of someones face
it reminded me id been crying
half a world away
ticket it for a plane
record company man
I wont be coming to diner
my thoughs are far away
And Im working on the day
love country girl
I think shes gone to
promises of fame
promises of fortune
LA to New York
SanFransisco back to Boston
Long for Scotland has he seen
wont he hire a limosine
Seymour sent her back to me
I heard it *********
you like chris' jacket
he reminded you of jonny
before he got electronic
Seymour Stein
Sorry I missed you
Have nice flight home
It's a good day for flying

As far as I'm aware, the next single contains at least A Century of Fakers,
Le Pastie de la Bourgeousie and Beautiful (interesting to note that ALL these
songs were written at least as far back as when Tigermilk came out).
Earlier ... Le Pastie De La Bourgeousie was probably the first classic Stuart
Murdoch ever wrote as well as being the title of his very first demo tape ...
dunno what will happen to this wonderful tune in the studio, but it was
breathtaking when first heard accoustically in '94 ... prepare yourself for a
classic ...

Surely not ... he was most probably talking about a person he once met ...
