Hi, Another non-B&S question here but i cant think of anyone else to ask, haveing no friends with any musical taste (example: on of my friends favourite bands is republica!). Can anyone tell me about Nick Drake, specifically when and how he died. I know he died young and am quite sure it was suicide but dont know how (not really important) or why (if anyone has any idea). Hey kids! I'm back yet again, taking time out between maths and french to say hello. I'm afraid I really can't keep up with all you lot, while I'm at school, so forgive me if anyone's said all this already. Has anyone seend this month's Select magazine? There is a whole two pages devoted to B&S at Sheperd's Bush. The most exciting thing is a picture of Stuart M with a bucket in his hand, doing the raffle. And you can see right up his right nostril. It's wicked. And in the article, the only thing I can remember is that they said the girl on the cover was an androgyne or something. Which is silly of them. I like America because of blues, jazz, rock, writers. Because I love Cormac Mc Carthy, Paul Auster, Woody Allen, Bill Evans, Jim Harrison, John Cassavetes, John Coltrane, Lambchop, etc... But there are also many things that I dont like : all the bad movies coming from Hollywood, puritanism, death penalty, trash TV, Mac Donalds, Kenneth Starr... I will come to the US next year, and I will live there at least one year. I will certainly miss Europe, and France. I love my country, but I dont sing our national anthem every morning. I am not particularly proud to be french: I'm not responsible for being french, I didn't choose. Let's try to take the best from all the countries. From Scotland, I take Belle & Sebastian ! I know, I know, I could of gotten my license ages ago, but I didn't see a need so I'm learning now. Anyhoo, back to that point of my lovely little story... I never realized how caught up I could get into music in the car, yes it distracts me at home, but I didn't think it would in the care (kind of stupid I guess). I was giving Sinister my full attention that I almost missed a turn, decided to quickly turn and I almost hit a guy on the side of the road! I almost hit him! It was so scary. He had to jump into the trees. My dad is next to me cursing and everything! Ahh! I'm still shaken up. The moral of the story, don't listen to great music in the car cause you just get distracted by the beauty. Well..it's kind of like that. If you like Ivy(NYC), They Go Boom, Shoestrings, and "Missing The Moon" type Field Mice stuff, you'll faint dead away hearing this. The CD is called "The Friend I Once Had" and fits in perfectly for those rare moments when TBWTAS has to rest. Some of it sounds a bit Dubstarish, but not as mainstream..ya know? Had a dream the other night that these rabbits had hundreds of babies (probably cause i'd just watched the Father Ted episode where Dougal has a rabbit and it has loads of babies and Bishop Brennan hates them cause he was stuck in a lift with tons of them and they started nibbling at his cape and....anyway...upon closer examination of my rabbit babies I discovered that they were infact, tiny, baby Wombles!
