Ftumch! I knew that I should have got tickets for Philadelphia - I hear that Cinerama will be supporting B&S - can anyone confirm? Also - along with everyone else i need 2 tickest for NY - my friend Mr Bibby is flying over from Padiham, Lancs, so it's one of you kind souls to the rescue or the evil touts i'm afraid To bolster my claim for the tickets here are my 3 favourite poems about NY by Mr Henry Normal - should get the band in the mood An Englishman in New York ------------------------- I'd like to see Beadle in the USA he wouldn't last a single day he'd play just one joke on an American bloke and they'd blow the fucker away World Trade Centre ------------------ Oh twin towers of the trade centre what a spectacular view from the 108th floor of number one you can see building number two Chelsea Hotel -------------- As a tribute to Dylan Thomas I got pissed at the Chelsea Hotel and though the food was delicious as a tribute to Sid Vicious I threw up over the doorman as well washington poem to follow nearer the date S'Later Paul. Sinister: A Terry Wogan moment

As there has been some interest of late I thought I'd just let you know what I know about France Gall. France Gall sang the Serge Gainsbourg penned "Poup�e De Cire, Poup�e De Son" to win the 1965 Eurovision song contest. She was representing Luxembourg even though both she and Gainsbourg were French. A few other songs were written for her by Gainsbourg, but more were written by her dad. I bought a few of her records a while back because of the Gainsbourg connection. "1968" is the best of the albums that I've heard, perfect music for a sunny summers day. When she sings softly it is angelic, but when she belts them out it all goes a bit wrong and just sounds like she is shouting tunelessly. Unfortunately for Keith she seems to do this somewhere in the middle of most of her songs. The one song that has eluded me is of course "Poup�e De Cire, Poup�e De Son", however I have just spotted on the Eurovision web site (was that an unwise admission?) that a double CD compilation of Eurovision winning songs has been released in the Netherlands. It's published by BR Music, and the catalogue number is BS 8106-2. As well as "Poup�e De Cire, Poup�e De Son" it also features such masterpieces as "A ba ni bi", "Ding Ding-A-Dong", "Boom Bang-A-Bang", and the all-time classic "Diggy-loo Diggy-ley". With Bucks Fizz, the Brotherhood of Man, and a double dose of Johnny Logan thrown in how can you resist? OK, I know this doesn't "technically" have B&S content, but since great minds think alike, I thought i'd crap on about how wonderful the new Club 8 record is (on March Records)....Wow. Driving to work, here in LA..in the rain....(unless the smog is leaking again) just does something to me. I loved Club 8 when they were more tweeish, but now they're even better...with some of the lovliest female vocals i've heard in my life. It's a bit like...well...you know all of you that *nearly* like the dancy Field Mice stuff with Annemarie singing, but just can't because it's the Field Mice and just seems wrong to you? Well..it's kind of like that. If you like Ivy(NYC), They Go Boom, Shoestrings, and "Missing The Moon" type Field Mice stuff, you'll faint dead away hearing this. The CD is called "The Friend I Once Had" and fits in perfectly for those rare moments when TBWTAS has to rest. Some of it sounds a bit Dubstarish, but not as mainstream..ya know? Had a dream the other night that these rabbits had hundreds of babies (probably cause i'd just watched the Father Ted episode where Dougal has a rabbit and it has loads of babies and Bishop Brennan hates them cause he was stuck in a lift with tons of them and they started nibbling at his cape and....anyway...upon closer examination of my rabbit babies I discovered that they were infact, tiny, baby Wombles!
