To all the people who have sent me chords for songs from The Boy, I'm so sorry I haven't put them up on the WWW page yet and some people sent them ages ago. Feeling woefully guilty, but I'm afraid I'm just not up to it right now but I promise I will. I'll have loads of duplicates already and I don't know how to choose which to put on the WWW - I'm afraid I'll probably go for first-come-first served and then you should feel free to mail the person who wrote them, chew a plectrum and agree on changes if there are any, and mail me back. I'll then put the corrected ones up, and if for some perverse reason there's some kudos in having your name on the Sinister site, I'll put both your names on. If, as is more likely, you'll get beaten up at school for being a tweeindiepopwimpkid by having your name there, tell me and I'll put it in code. Although 'ZBC does win in that they play rock all day and night (if you call No Commercial Potential rock, which it sort of is). But the only problem with 'ZBC is that in most buildings in Boston, you just can't pick up the reception, so you're stuck with listening to the bigger stations (WFNX being in that category) or listening to cd's all day long, which is what I pretty much do, after, of course, listening to the wonderful Breakfast of Champions on 'MBR for the first two hours of my work day. B&S content - 'MBR is where I *first* heard B&S, way back in early '97 - gotta thank Matt N. for that!! (I sadly miss the "sugar buzz" show, Matt, if you're still on the list) >FNX can bite me. Me too! Being a huge France Gall fan I too tried to translate her songs literally, 'cause I speak so little French. It helps to translate it and then see what the phrase could be in English...after all who eats apples of the earth? So really I think that "Poupee de cire poupee de son" means something like "Wax doll, talking doll" (or "doll of sound")...but I think it could also be a pun, as "son" can mean "his." This is, after all, Serge Gainsbourg we're talking about here, and he was no slouch with the clever puns. It's also a little amusing to write a song about a talking doll for a girl who was so obviously a manufactured pop singer. He really pulled a number on her with "Les Sucettes", too (smut content)... Btw, did you know France Gall's real name is Isobel? Cue Twilight Zone music here... Sinister: more of philly this, philly that...

hiya fellas. has anyone have any further info about the refunds on the philly show? i took my tickets stub to ticketmaster yesterday at the mall and the old lady running it hadnt a clue as to what i was speaking of. first, she said that she didnt know how to process refunds and that i should come back in an hour when the lady who did know got back from her lunch break. then, when she saw that the tickets were already torn off, i had a hard time convincing her that the show was cancelled after we went inside and the opening act played. then she said i needed a receipt. of course, that's long gone. at any rate, i went to my favorite downtown record store (Bert's, for those of you who ever feel like doing record-shopping in delaware) and they told me of the possible rescheduling but they wont know until 5 o'clock today. knock on wood. at any rate, does anyone know if the ticket stubs will be accepted at the door if it is rescheduled? and if not, how do the refunds work? i've gotten over my disappointment of the show's cancellation, especially after hearing that i'll see them sooner or later, but i think it kinda sucks that i paid for three tickets and i cant get my money back...pls help me out here. to the guy who wrote about REM's "life's richest pagents" -- the track list in order is on the disc itself rather than the outside cover art. i was thrown off at first as well :) toodles all. love, -dannyb +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net".
