Dear Belle And Sebastian Listees, sorry to post the list, but I thought this was rather important. Please add your name to this list, whether you happen to be homosexual, bisexual, or just a straight person who's disgusted with the recent killing of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming, like I am. Dear Friends, American Airlines is a major sponsor to and supporter of groups like: GLADD, the Human Rights Campaign, the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, the AIDS Action Foundation, DIFFA, AmFAR, and scores of community-based groups representing gays and lesbians. It is also the first airline to adopt a written non-discrimination policy covering sexual orientation in its employment practices. In an unusual joint letter released to the media on March 14th from the Family Research Council, Concerned Women of America, American Family Association and Coral Ridge Ministries, American Airlines was openly criticized about their policy. Radical right leader Beverly LaHaye also went on Christian "talk radio" on Friday to blast American Airlines because American's sponsorship of homosexual 'pride' events constitutes an open endorsement of "promiscuous homosexuality." She and the other groups have written Bob Crandall at American to complain that the airline has "gone beyond mere tolerance" of gays and lesbians. It has come to the attention of the gay and lesbian community that American Airline's switchboard and e-mails are being bombarded now by homophobic and hateful callers who have been urged by LaHaye and others to DEMAND the company terminate its gay-friendly policies. Sinister: The ABBA-B&S Connection...

First I want to say I too am very embarrassed to have been in Philadelphia with all the negativity directed at Chris and the band due to Isobel's illness...selfishness is the biggest pitfall of the popfan, and they really don't owe us anything as they've already given us so much, so just wait patiently for the next time they come around to unload your drooling adoration (you do remember those days, don't you, when you would've died for them??). We're talking about humans here who get ill like we do, not music-performing life-affirming robots (that's Kraftwerk, if there was any confusion, who probably *could* play if someone got sick). Secondly, and to the main point of my message. Tell me I'm not crazy, that at 2:16 of "You Made Me Forget My Dreams" the electric piano break does not sound *exactly* like the beginning of ABBA's "S.O.S."--it's freaky! Another ABBA-Scottish band connection: the beginning of the Cocteau Twins' "Blue Bell Knoll" sounds like the piano break in ABBA's "Money Money Money." Is there a conspiracy afoot? Discuss. Not that there's anything wrong with referring to ABBA, they are gods. And I'm not ashamed to say it. oh my...all those days of crying and praying-pretending to read the fortune on the bottom of my teacup and moaning and hating my parents and being distracted with candy and intricate sleeping at the bus shelter-running away plans....and they CANCELLED Toronto! how eerie....Of course,most of me is sad for everyone who went out...and Isobel for being so sick...but the teeny selfish evil part of me that lives in the wall is wondering does this mean a rescheduling of dates! Whenever I am really sick, like last year when I had surgery, a nice get well message always makes me feel better. Just the fact that I know someone cares lifts my spirits. I am going to include a poem. So I think you all should write one also and perhaps she will feel 98% better just knowning so many people out there care about her. I went to see Air the other night, I am not the biggest fan, but I must say I was so shocked at how good they were. My respect for them has near doubled since then. Just a side thought. I just called the Chicago Metro and they told me the band told them they were going to be playing!!! I mentioned the last 2 cancellations and they told me they were aware, but the band was definitely playing tomorrow night!!! Sinister: ticket refunds/rescheduling?

Sinister: DC Tickets??????

hi list... I have been on the list for what must be over a year now and I have never posted... I just wanted to say that after driving 18 hours and spending money for gas, tolls, lodging, food, and lastly five tickets to the philly show. Not to mention I missed two days of work... I'm "slightly" upset that I was not able to see Belle and Sebastian play. It's actually become quite a joke now for me and my friends... and I'm feeling really bad about the guy up front who yelled "I'm gonna KILL you!" to Chris after the final anouncement... but it really was quite funny... ok, my question is could someone please tell me were I could find two tickets to the DC show? Everyone I have talked to is out of tickets!
