Hello readers, I can't resist posting right now, just to add to the confusion. I've counted at least 4 Sinisterines named Jessica, myself included... But I don't post all that often, and the only listees who have met me are a few NYC people, and I don't think I have a crush on anybody, either... Sinister: a pile of self-indulgent manure

I'm writing cos I was spurred on by Todd (I'se here, buddy, I'se here!), but also because you may well be forgetting how fabulous I am. Hmmm... Figured out how to adapt "Judy..."'s trumpet part for the flute yesterday. Well, adapt is the wrong word, but I can now play it, at least, which should come in handy when certain sinisterines (half plum, half cardigan) get together on Saturday afternoon... I too thought Corpora's comments on skinniness were apposite and rib-tickling. I had a little reverie last night about how lovely love handles are, despite my new-found appreciation for the slenderer figure on gurls. I myself have a couple of love handles I'm working on - they may be mere saplings at the moment, but after a week of every possible excess in NYC I'm hoping to have buns like bean bags. Best lay off the heroin, then. Archel = orgiastic? And you seem like such a nice girl...I was in a similar position a few years ago, but vomiting again became an unfortunate issue. It makes me wonder quite how pissed we have to be before it becomes an attractive option... I don't think I've yet added my wisdom about the Lucksmiths last Friday. Fucking genius! I'd love to be more expressive, but I always sound like a pretentious swine when I ponce about with metaphors and adverbs and the like. And also when I don't, I suppose. Hey ho. I am still yet to meet anyone in the street or on the train (I don't do buses, darlings) who's wearing a B&S badge, or humming a B&S tune. Does this happen a lot? I mean, there are quite a few of us now, so I guess it must now and again...I really want to bump into someone who then becomes a lifelong friend, and all because they were singing "...clears the washing up..." and wearing flares... Rambling too much. Must read children's books............ Sinister: vinyl

Hellooo I bought a copy of "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus ..." today on 7 inch cos it was a bargain. When I played it the sound was really fuzzy. It sounded like Jane B was singing through an iron lung. Now, on inspection it just looks like the record is really dirty and the grroves are a bit clogged up. Does anyone know the best way to clean vinyl? And if someone could make me a copy of the French Radio session I would be eternally grateful.... RE: thrush from railings This is to do with Mick mentioning that when he was wee at school he used to lick the ice that formed on the school railings. I must admit I used to do that too. Must be a north Scotland thing. Hello all you lovely Sinister people I've been eavesdropping on your converstaions for a week now, but I've been too shy to post - plus I've had nothing terribly interesting to say. But how I smirked at the cheese converstaions! How I trembled at the US vs. UK tiff! How I growled at the slagging-overweight-people-off bit! I was going to tell you all about my radio show, which you can only pick up in the Dublin area, but the only other Dublinese person on the list seems to be Joss (hi Joss!), who by a strange coincidence has a show on the very same station! Fancy that! (Actually, if you know Dublin at all, you'll know it's actually a small provincial Irish town, not a city as it would sneakily have you believe. It just happens to be the biggest small provincial Irish town. So it's not that much of a coincidence that Joss and I know each other.) B&S content: why bother arguing over which EP/ LP is better than the others? They're all beautiful and wonderful and delicious and dreamy and gorgeous. There, now I've posted. I feel so much better now. The pick of Isabelle on the Arab Strap insert is very Edie Sedgwick - esque. Edie Sedgwick did indeed have troubled later years, and earlier years, too! She died of a drug overdose after years of abusing all kinds of drugs... and before that she had a strange relationship with her father and I believe lost a very close relative along the way. Wish I had more time to chat on this! The book is still in print - look for it. It's by Jean Stein and George Plimpton and it's entirely made up of pieces of interviews with people who knew Edie at various stages in her life. It's considered a modern biographical classic because of its innovative format. I got dragged to New York City yesterday, to go to the Whitney Museum to see some exhibit of some artist who I can't remember but was very good. Very big bold paintings. Lots of emotion. Anyway, they were also showing a film of Andy Warhol, "Outer and Inner Space". So I got to stare at four images of Edie Sedgwick for half an hour. At one point it struck me that she reminded me of our very own Isobelle. Maybe its just the hair cut. And Edie was wearing these really big earrings. They were wonderful. But I seem to remember that Edie was a bit of a mess in her later years. Didn't the Cult write a song about her? For all those coming in for the New York show on Sunday, maybe you can catch the film before the meet-up. There are showings at 11.30, 12.45, 2, 3.15, and 4.30. No shows Monday or Tuesday it seems, though. On Madison, at 75th street. Not sure if I'll be able to make the meet up. I think my little group will be drinking somewhere special. To let everybody know, this is Todd's last night out on the town, since he will be moving to The South. In the spirit of the UK after show club happenings, we were thinking of taking our little group of friends to this place called SHOUT! Never been myself, but its supposed to be a club in the 60's pop/soul vein. Its quite possible that it might be filled with pretentious neo-mods. If so, I'm sure a throng of hyped-up(possibly tipsy) Belle and Sebastian fans can out-class any pretentious neo-mod. And I'm sure we can out do them on the dance floor. We've all got SOUL. But just in case I'll bring a few extra Ben Shermans, if anybody needs help getting in the door. Some friends of mine, (including the infamous Todd) will be making a bit of a road trip to take in the Boston and Philly shows. I got my badge(or button as we Americans call it. A badge is something boy scouts get.) and my t-shirt all ready. I'll be the rather tall boy with red hair. And I'll probably be smiling. Ready, Set, Who!!!!....I mean Go!
