Sinister: another odd mis-hearing

This is not a mis-hearing (is that a word?) of a Belle and Sebby song, but it still very odd. Sometime in the early 1990's there was this, um, bad band called Temple of the Dog who had one popular song here in the States. The first line of that song was "I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence" Well, a friend of mine thought they were saying "I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of Africans" She didn't think that was very nice at all, and I would have to agree. Sinister: How can we make love if we can't make amends?

It's so nice to see everyone kissing and making up. I see that in all of our hearts reverberate those words of wisdom, "How can we be lovers if we can't be friends?" Indeed. C'mere and give us a hug. I'm getting so excited for the shows coming up that I can barely see straight. It looks as though they play a different set every night and have just about every song they've ever done ready to go. Which is great, considering that I'm going to two shows. Now, I've heard that they've been playing the sessions version of "Lazy Line Painter Jane", but what about "Sleep the Clock Around"? Do they play it like it is on the album, or do they do it up more like the sessions version? So, obviously, I'll be the dork at the front at the DC and Athens shows writing the set list onto my arms. In permanent marker. To be tattooed in after the show. Something I've been meaning to share with you all (and I'm sure you've been anxious to hear it) is my personal entry into the "misheard lyrics" book, that someday will sell millions, and dammit, I want a cut. In "Seymour Stein", I always thought that "I heard dinner went well" was "I heard Dylan wail", as though it was Seymour Stein going on about all the famous people he knew Way Back When. And I would also like to place my vote in the non-existant poll that I prefer "North of Scotland has he seen" to "Has he ever seen Dundee". Sure, the Dundee line gets the point across better, but the Scotland line is a little more poetic I think. And I have a doctorate in poetry. And by "have", I mean "don't have". And the "He reminded you of Johnny..." is *obviously* a reference to Johnny Rotten before he went into PIL, which is obvious because Chris remind EVERYBODY of Johnny Rotten. Just kidding...it's really about Johnny Polonsky and his rumored electronic album. The infamous Kenny was known to remark: > I was paying for it at the counter and I saw an > album lying there. The funny thing (brace yourself) is that that album was released on the same day as Shaquille O'Neal's new one. Two very different kinds of crap from two very different kinds of sports stars. Sinister: afterglow...and tape plea

A lovely Tom Waits soundtrack too. I saw a wonderful Japanese film the other day called "Shall We Dance?", which you should all go and see too. Uplifting like Strictly Ballroom, only more subtle. And better dresses. Could someone in the UK possibly send me the unreleased tracks or radio sessions? I'm very happy to exchange if I've got anything that tickles your fancy, or send compilation tapes or whatever in return. Did anyone see Vic Chesnutt and Lambchop at the Electric Ballroom last night? They were wonderful. I had such a good time, despite collapsing from the heat about three times. That's all. Nice talking to you all again. I haven't written in ages. This touch of love makes Mega Murdoch return to a state of normality and he becomes wee Stuart again, and he plays lots of concerts with his friends and rules the world...well..the school. FIN.
