hello. today i bought 'if you're feeling sinister' and 'the boy with the arab strap' and i like them very much. before i got them i had not heard a single note of belle and sebastian. i bought them on blind faith in email associates of mine who said they were great. so i thought, ok why not. i am glad i listened. :-) i think my fave song so far is 'seeing other people'. btw i live in australia, i am 19, and i like mailing lists. which is prolly why i am on so many. radiohead, unbelievable truth, etc etc. ummm are there any other aussie fans who can give advice as to where to get other b&s thingys from? kenners has drunkenly incited me out of my fat lazy, bored state. My list of things good about America 1. Fred Astaire 2. chinese/japanese/indian/thai food. In SF, berkeley, etc. 3.1 Joshua Tree National Park, CA. It looks like Mars and you can sleep outside, warm as a kitten, no sleeping bag. 4. Sequoias. 5. Jimmy Stewart 6. In Watermelon Sugar by Richard Brautigan 7. My friend david's flower, this giant flower of felt and wire, in the middle of which one can sit and grab all the petals with attached strings so you can hide yourself in the center of a flower. I just got back from the pub and thought that I'd see what stacks of useless emails I'd got from the list. The last one that I recieved was just before 9. Does this mean that all my fellow listees had switched off the comP!O!O!ters and gone down the pu, having had the same need as I to remove the weeks stresses with a swift pint or 7? Can't account for you Americans though, perhaps that it is just that you are as fat and lazy as we have stereotyped you. Not too much offence intended. Love Jake. ARGH, no match of the day tomorrow. Sinister: Recent Athens show info, NC Sinisterines?

Hello foxes, in snow and out. I just thought I'd share the information that I got yesterday from the uncharacteristically kindly folks at the historic 40 Watt. But I would like to send out tons of hippie "thank you" vibes to the people who sent me ticket info, especially Roberta, who always seems to come through for me. She'll save my life one day, I don't doubt... Sweet Amy (she was really nice) at the 40 Watt told me that the folks at Wuxtry were dead wrong about being able to order tickets by credit-card (they like to lie at Wuxtry). They'll only sell out-of-town tickets by money order (and then they send the tickets to you). BUT, Amy was reluctant to even let me do it since "it was so close to the show". She also told me that they've sold about half of the tickets and they expect to be sold out well before the show. SO...if you're thinking of getting tickets via mail, you'd best call real soon (706-549-7871). As in, today or Monday. If you're close enough to Athens to drive there (if I couldn't get them by mail, I was going to take the 6 hour road trip), they're still selling them in exchange for C.A.S.H. at Wuxtry and Big Shot. By the way, I'm all kinds of up for an after-show meet up at one of the bars around town. Unless the show is on the 40 Watt's notoriously late shedule, which means they should be done around 2 am, and so bars may not be an option. But there's always the Grill. Good ol' Athens. I can't wait to get back. I noticed on the meet-up board that there are more than a few people coming from NC. Any other Tarheel listees? Why the hell aren't they playing at the Cat's Cradle if there are so many of us?! Next time...
