hello my darlings, in case any of you are wondering, about the mystery album that i was so desperately trying to find the name of, you need not wonder anymore. it was a lovlely band called joan of arc and the name of the cd is live in chicago 1999. it is fab and you all should buy it! i have no stoppped listening to it all day. this past weekend i had my first date with a girl. it was so amazing. i really had a wonderful time, and i am glad that everything worked out so well. we even kissed! it was great, and we are going out again very soon. have any of you ever seen the movie love and other catastrophies? here in america no one has even heard of it, but i happen to come across it in this little video shop and i rented it and it is my favorite movie. i dont know, maybe it was big in england, since it was an english movie, but we hardly ever get good films here from europe. i never did get to see the acid house and i am quite dissapoinited. it was only playing in one theater in philly and noowhere else in pa or new jersey. i wanted to see it so badly but it was only playing for about two weeks, and then they yanked it out of the theater because apparently noone went to see it. now i will never see it, as i am sure it will take a billion years for it to get released onto video here in the states. wohoo! i just found out that the black heart procession is playing philly with tristeza. that will be an awesome show!! i went to philly today and i went to repo records cuz they have everything i am looking for usually, and there was the cutest girl working there. she had really short blackish hair with greenish blue eyes and she was the most beautiful girl i have ever seen. i was talking to my friend and we were reading this list of albums that were on it and one if them has the tindersticks on them, and i said i have never heard them but i really want to since i always here fabulous things about them and she said they were really good but they were all out of them. oh snap! i thought. but next time i will check them out. oops i should have said oh pants! instead, right marie darling? hehe. ok i must be going dears. xoxo, lauren +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Sinister: Curses

Have you ever had one of those days? Everything goes wrong. First it starts with mildly annoying things - you couldn't sleep the night before, some part of you aches quite painfully, and everyone around you seems to be in a foul mood. That's when you find out that you crashed your brother's computer last night erasing his hard drive and now there is talk of a shotgun. Your speed and his aim are in question. Yes, I seem to have a computer virus attached to my Midas fingers. Every computer that I come near seems to become very sick. My brother came over this morning to inform that after I left last night that his new computer froze up and now refuses to boot. Of course, he's extremely upset at me though nothing happened while I was over there & I really have no clue what I did. But the hard drive is gone. *gulp* In the past month, situations like this have happened to me more than anyone would ever consider normal. Whether it is a sign, a warning, or bad luck I'm not going to test my sanity or my family's patience for me anymore (its the south - they know how to lynch). I know that I'll never be able to use my brother's computer again. Of course, I'm really too much of a coward to do that again (Yes, a coward. I didn't call a certain someone's cell phone either. hehe) . I'm most sorry to anyone that I was going to burn cds for but that isn't an option anymore (deepest apologies Blakee). I'm also going to stop being on-line very often. Maybe just once a month to check e-mail or such. Thus, I'm unsubscribing to the list. Today I'm leaving to go on a roadtrip up north & we'll be going all the way to Maine. *YaY* After this trip, the Dakotas (& we know my disbelief that N. Dakota even exists) will be the only states of the 48 continental that haven't been graced by my computer havoc wreaking presence (of frankencense and myrrh). I'll be gone for a week and am most likely to unsubscribe from the list when I get back. *BaH* I'm sure to post again before I unsubscribe and who knows - I might change my mind. But I really shouldn't. I did try to stay off the computer once before and it lasted a week. So the statistics aren't favoring my resolution but we'll see. Has anyone ever thought of doing a directory of members. I would offer my services but I won't be here. Anyway, I think it would be most helpful and I would be so interested in one of list members in the US. When I moved back to North Carolina, I tried to find list members here by searching for NC under the archives but came up dry. I go on roadtrips all the time and would be most interested in hearing about the great local spots from people from there. I think that it could be an excellent resource. Anyone else interested in this idea? Any volunteers to collect? I would do all that I could to help. This might be my shortest post ever. Let's keep it that way. Friends! I sold my soul to the devil once but the devil said it wasn't worth a damn anyways and gave it back too me. Thanks devil. At the suggestion of, I believe, the lovely Laura Llew, I went to the Keirsey site(http://keirsey.com/personality/nfip.html) and did the personality test. It said I was an INFP. I would be willing to guess that a great many of the members of this list are also INFP's. I think Belle & Sebastian's music specifically appeals to those who are INFP's. Just examine the song titles. I'm not espousing any belief in the theories of Carl Jung but there may be a connection here. Anybody agree, disagree or think that I should just shut the hell up? I'm going home from work to watch that movie PI by Darren Aranofsky. The real name of the movie is the symbol for 3.14. I heard it was terrific. A friend says that the character is a study of someone who has schizophrenia. Thus, I definitely have a strong interest in this movie. Since some of us have shared stories about people on trains. here's mine: Five years ago when I had just graduated from college, I worked in downtown Pittsburgh and rode the trolley to town. I saw an intriguing woman that looked to be my age almost everyday. She was absolutely beautiful. Months passed before I finally gathered the courage to talk to her. I bought some potpourri for her and when she got off the trolley, I got off the trolley and gave it to her. She was excited that a stranger could do that. We talked on the phone for months(hours at a time) but she never would go on a date with me though we went out to lunch many times. I was crushed! I never tried to meet anybody on that damn trolley ever again. Hi, I think I must have caught Prolific Posting Syndrome off Andy the other evening. Hi my little support groupies ;) FINANCES Well, spoke to college staff today. Apparently I can't get financial help from them until I have an overdraft. So I'll be hitting the TSB tomorrow and begging to them. I'm really beginning to hate this. I've also applied to both McDonalds and Burger King (I'm that desperate). Still, I'm winning the war against depression, I even managed to crack a joke today ;) EVIL COLLEGE TEACHER A man by the name of Alan McLaughlan, teaching politics in College Of Commerce. Typical lesson... 1. Come in with stacks of Overhead-projector transparancies. Makes us copy them all down. 2. Tells us nothing about what we're 'learning.' 3. Someone in the class asks a question. Head bitten off. 4. Asks us a question and gets ratty when we don't have a clue what he's talking about. 5. Makes us copy more stuff. 6. Goes away and comes back 30 mins later, expecting us to have magically learned something. AAARRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!! etc LOVE Nothing yet, not too bothered at the mo, as I'd have no money to do anything anyway. Heard a story that touched me though.... This guy was going on his first date with a girl he'd liked for ages. He actually got a couple of his friends to help him out. He took her to a park, they sat together in the sunlight. Friend number one comes from nowhere, hands them two glasses and a bottle of wine. Disappears. Friend number two comes along with a guitar and serenades them. Aww, that was soooo uplifting ;) Well, keep your fingers crossed for my wee bank escapade tomorrow.
