Sinister: i want specifics on the general idea

***watch out. this is a long post*** i've been reading back through some of my "older" posts to this list. older being a relative term, since i've only started saving them about 2 months ago. i realized sometime back then that the things i write to you people were more detailed and interesting to read than what i write in my own damn journal. i guess i needed a new format. someone once said that my "patter is tremendous." i'm worried i'm losing my touch, though. maybe i should go back to doing headers. that was fun. TOO MUCH INFORMATION one of you glorious folks said you didn't want to know when Tim Hopkins and Peter Miller are feeling gassy, but why not? that may be a major influence in why and how they are writing what they are, so why exclude it if they feel the need to share? besides, if we start telling people not to post about bodily functions, soon i won't be allowed to complain about needing sexual gratification, and then what will i do? FRESH MEAT, CHEAP! you probably remember way back when (oh, about 2 weeks ago i think) i was complaining that nobody is attracted to me, and thought i must be a mutant of some kind. well, that's totally blown up in my face (not the fault of any of you, though). this past weekend of dancing and drinking has shown me that sure, people think i'm attractive. but only to the extent that they want to rub their genitals against me, not actually talk to me or anything. so now i feel like a peice of meat. what brought this on, you ask? last night i was talking to a friend about the party we had on saturday. and he commented on that boy in the red i was dancing with, and said that he was about to break us up if i looked at all uncomfortable. and said something about this boy groping me, etc. i don't remember it like that, but i guess i never stopped to think what it must have looked like to the other people there. i think i'll just go back to dancing with girls and leave it at that. i think the worst part was the actual conversation i had with my friend: friend: what was up with that boy you were dancing with? me: which one? friend: the one you were dancing really close to me: which one? friend: the one that was all over you me: which one? friend: i think he was wearing red me: oh. that one. i think i danced with about 4 or 5 boys that night, all of whom put their hands on me in some fashion, and ended up grinding some part of their body against me. eew. now i need to take a shower. i feel dirty. SUGAR SUGAR KANDY POP, PUSH IT DOWN PULL IT UP so i've listened to bis's "social dancing" a couple times now, and i'm a little disappointed. not as disappointed as i was when i first put it in, but maybe i'm just not in the dancing mood, you know? fuck it. i'll just listen to more built to spill. and perhaps a round or two of "slow graffiti," and the entirety of "dog on wheels." B&S-INDUCED CAR ACCIDENTS (does this count as content?) driving under the influence of B&S is, i think, generally a bad idea. i remember getting lost in lazy line painter jane (shut up, those of you who don't like that woman's voice. it's lovely) while driving to Stacks 'N' Steaks (on clark and devon in the north side of chicago, for you chicagoan types) a year and a half ago when i used to read there. I'd listen to that song just about every night i went (and i went just about every night) and a few times i'd be slow to put on the brakes approaching a stopped car or a red light, and nearly kill me and my poor ancient volkswagen. so i've stopped paying as much attention to it now. HARK TO THE TALE OF SETH, AND THE GIRL HE SCREWED OVER so it may be seth didn't blow me off as badly as i'd thought. tho i don't know. i can't tell. it's frustrating. i went to his house yesterday to try and dig something out of his storage closet that a friend had left there (my molecular biology lab book, to be precise). when i walked in the door (he was expecting me, as i had called beforehand to ask if it was okay) he gave me a big smile, a massive hug, a big soft kiss on the cheek, a longer hug, then asked me if it was cold outside. i'm guessing he felt how cold my ears were. i made a little small talk, then went upstairs to dig. never found the notebook, and when i came down he looked sad when i put on my coat to leave. i felt stupid, though. i don't have my own television, and the friend i normally watch the simpsons with wasn't home, so i ended up going back to seth's house 20 minutes later to watch the simpsons and futurama with him and the 5 other people he lives with. no touching this time, but i caught him looking at me more than once. a good amount of eye contact. what the hell do i make of all this? maybe i'll grab him and force him to tell me what's going on in his head next week at hampshire halloween. i'll be drunk enough to do it, i think. it would be a nice little anniversary, too. since it would be a year exactly since he got drunk and said he wanted to sleep with me. i guess it's my turn, now. and i'm sure you all cared about that. yeah, right. i bet you're asking youselves: "why does this girl tell us all this?" well, to be totally honest, it's because i don't know you. for the most part i'm not worried about you running around and telling all my friends what i said, and an anonymous bunch of strangers is easier to pour your heart out to than the people you live with and see every day. and the 900 or so pages of journal writing i've accumulated (yes, i number the pages. i'm a geek) don't compare in content and style with what i write to you. so i guess i've ended where i began, and it's like none of this post ever happened. then it's time to sign my name and let this post wander through wires in the form of electrons, and eventually reach your electronic mailboxes. -kerry "red usually means caution. or beef if it's a bullion cube." -"toys" +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister(a)majordomo.net". Sinister: If you had such a dream...

I had a strange dream last night that Montenegro attacked Serbia. I have no idea where it came from, although I do know it must be loosely related to the recent news that Serbia would not block an attempt by Montenegro to leave the Yugoslav union, but still, it kind of creeps me out that I dream of things like that. Obligatory B & S content: My friend Ian from high school really loves B & S. He tends to be vocal about this when I force him to listen. I think it's kind of amusing that metal heads referred to B & S as pretentious when metalheads are some of the most pretentious "motherfuckers" I know. I'm sorry there are only so many songs you can write with three chords and a "horrific" voice before they all blend together. And the names? Cradle of Filth? Megadeth? Christ, how much more pretentious can you get? Hey, I'm a belle and sebastian fan, and yet I like Tool. There I've said it. Quick Brandt's reaching his breaking point update. Yesterday while enjoying a slice of pizza I bit my finger very hard and got upset. I realized how everything in my life is building and piling and I need to fix it. But most of it I can't fix alone. Liz is over compensating right now--We got in a huge fight thursday night after I accused her of spending too much time on the phone with a guy she had been seeing and taking me for granted. We spent a lot of the weekend together. That thursday made me realize how confused she is about everything though. She swears up and down that she doesn't want a huge commitment and yet when I tell her we should be together she says : Tell me how the rest of our life is going to work out. And I don't have that kind of foresight. But what she has gotten me to do is start trying to see the future and I don't like it. Like I say I get a girlfriend. Do you think that I will be able to remain as close as I am to her right now? And if she leaves in 3 years, will we remain as close if I'm not in tow? I doubt it. I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's just the way i know things would go. What's a boy to do? Just back from a debauched Sinister LAYDEEZ weekend in Greenwich. Who would have thought that the BOYZ would have been so jealous of us? It was great to know they were all pining at home, leaving greasy nose marks on the windows as they peered out in the rain oh-so-wistfully. Many secrets were shared and lots of goss but they'll never know about it!! Ah hahahaha. Saturday was Nihon day. We walked around London in sensible silver trainers and mary janes. Lunch at Wagamama and buying of lovely things at the Japan Centre. My new talking Pokemon (Togepi, #65) is so disgustingly cute, I can't believe I bought him - seeing as I didn't think I had a twee bone left in my body. Then a roast Sunday lunch where Pam trussed up the bird, Sez made voluptuous DD Yorkshire puds and I sauced up a cake with nutmeg and Bailey's. We girls don't proclaim we want a **ck, we just eat sexy food instead. Speaking of that, what is it with announcing to the world that you want something of a, err, personal nature? There are just some things that we *don't* all need to know. For example, I don't want to know when Tim Hopkins wants to belch, or when Peter Miller wants to 'release gas'. I'm sure they all do when there are parties in Andy's big hairy cave, but thankfully we don't hear all the gory details. Notice to the whingers, teenage or not: try to remember that out of 1000 or so people, not everyone wants to be your Agony Aunt or Uncle. Why not set up a nickname of the people who tend to reply to those sorts of mails and send your woes to them instead? Geez, I thought chat took care of this sort of stuff but it seems not. Bah humbug. Maybe I sound old and cranky, but I've heard a lot of complaints about this lately and figured someone's got to speak up. Sinister: How would you like it, sir?

Someone had carved "MENSWEAR" in big capital letters into the desk I sat at this morning. Next to that someone had carved "If you're Harry and you know it clap your hands". Clap clap. Oh no, I'm not Harry am I? I always forget. Harry's an ace name isn't it? I only know one Harry, and he has a very round chin rather like a baby hippo's bum. Has anyone read any Harry Potter books? Are they any good? I wasn't going to bother with them but now I know they're banned they sound rather exciting. Naughty even. Like speed. Oh look, I press these buttons and words appear on the screen. How very amusing. I met Belle and Sebastian last night. Belle was carrying a ladder and kept hitting Sebastian about the face with it. Then I realised it was actually The Chuckle Brothers. Then I woke up and it was all a dream. Erica needs a haircut. Well, Erica, when you go ask them about their water-sprayers. I had my hair cut on Saturday and when the barber found out I was taking Physics he told me that I should find out why those water-spray bottles never work properly. Then he asked me if I knew how to wire a plug. Lots of people have told me things like this, about everyday things they use that don't work properly. Like cardboard boxes at Sainsburys that fall apart when you pick them up. One gloroius day I'm going to write them all down and work out how to fix them all. The world will rejoice! Perhaps I'll be made Prime Minister, or I might even get on the front page of the Kidderminster Shuttle. William mentioned Robin Hood. It's scary living round these parts in the autumn when I have to put my hood up. I keep thinking I'll be spotted by the evil Sherriff of Nottingham and his band of pesky moustachioed bastards. Hey there! Anyone notice the latin in the subject line? No? oh well, no matter. Why is everyone here in love at the mo'? What a bloody stupid question, i'm not, well, maybe just a little. O.k. maybe just a lot, its hard to tell sometimes. At least it is for me, in this i suffer acute self doubt and anxiety, which is unusual for me, i think. What it does is to completely mess up my mind, i just don't know how to say what i really want to say even here, even now. I'm fairly sure she likes me at some level, though how much, or for what resons i have no idea. Shes just one of the sweetest people i've ever known, which i admit sounds rather corny and not a little biased but right now i believe it, but would hate to spoil our friendship through it, as has happened to me before i'm sorry to say... Any ideas welcome. Ho well, sorry to burden you with all that, you're serving as substitute for B+S themselves as i'm having a little difficulty getting my albums back from friends "just let me tape it off" they say, and being me i say o.k. but this has been going on for a wee while now and its starting to mildly frustrate rather than annoy, but there you are. Does anyone know any web sites for locating musicians? We are still struggling to find a new female vocalist and possible others. We're going back in the studio next month and if we don't find a new female vocalist then the lead guitarist is gonna sing!!
